 ✯✯4 Crazy Twisted Stars!!✯✯

Wow!! This book was not was what I was expecting. I was expecting  a loveless, miserable marriage. One of the married characters start a hot, sexy affair. NOPE!! There was a problem marriage. But, everything that came after was not what I was expecting.

James and Brie are getting ready to celebrate their 4th wedding anniversary. And, they are not still in the honeymoon phase anymore. They recently moved back to James hometown when he got the job as the new District Attorney. James is under a lot of pressure with this new job. James's mother does not make things easy either. He's got this woman he works with throwing herself at him every chance she gets. James is spending more and more time at the office and drinks after with his colleagues then spending time at home with his wife.

Brie is in love with her husband. She opened her own photography studio that has done so good. Brie is booked at work with people wanting her to expand from doing baby pictures, engagement stuff like that to going and doing their weddings. Brie spends most nights alone in a big house with her husbands dinner sitting there waiting for him. She is lonely and afraid her husband is keeping things from her. Brie took up yoga to help her with her stress.

Mason. Oh Mason. On the outside he looks like he has it all. Him and his brother own and run three very successful businesses. He's a walking wet dream and doesn't have to worry about going to bed alone if he didn't want too. But, Mason is broken. Four years ago his sister Meadow was walking home and the night ended terribly. A hit-in-run. Meadow didn't  make it but the doctors were able to save her unborn daughter. Four years later they have no answers to what/why happened. Mason and his family will never give up looking for answers of why this happened. His niece is the love of his life. Mason will do whatever he can to protect her, make her smile and love her.

These three are connected by so many different angles. James and Mason went to school together. Mason made it clear he knew James was a man whore and he was to stay away from his sister. Mason meets Brie to fix her washer and the sparks fly instantly between these 2. Brie will never cheat on her husband. Mason stays far far away from married women.

Every time Mason and Brie turn around they are bumping into each other. When James runs into Mason and is caught red-handed doing James things. He's thrown for a loop when he finds out Mason and Brie know each other and have become friends. James tries to be a better husband. But, is it too late? Meadow's case is being reopened and somehow James finds himself right smack in the middle of it. Brie can not handle any of it.

You must must read this!! It's seriously unlike any love triangle I've ever read. It has a lot of mystery and suspense in it. Whenever I thought I knew what was coming next or who did what. Yup..I was sitting there with my mouth wide open catching flies.Antoinette did a beautiful job making you go from loving someone to either feeling sorry for them, or hating them and sometimes wanting to shake and strangle them. All at the same time!! Even the secondary characters were very important. They supported the right people. Mason brother and Brie best friend I'd love to get into their heads. Antoinette needs to hurry up with the next book. When I finished with that cliffhanger my kindle almost went threw the wall. There's still so many unanswered and unasked questions that must be either asked or answered. I am waiting anxiously for the next part of Mason/Brie/James story...

Excerpt

Gripping Red’s hand tight, the two ran up the stairs, Brooke wincing each time one of the boards squeaked under the pressure of their weight. At the top, the door was open, a fact that had Brooke’s heart jumping up her throat like it was on a damn trampoline. Peering out, she ensured there was no one in sight before tugging Red forward. A few steps into the carpeted foyer, the sound of voices drifted towards them. Panicking, she pulled Red into what she thought was an empty room and shut the door.

Panting, she leaned against the door, trying to catch her breath.

“We have to hide here, Red. I’ll check if it’s safe in a few minutes.” When there was no reply from Red, Brooke turned her head, searching. “Red?” The other woman stood frozen, unmoving in the middle of the room.

“What are you—ahh…” Brooke stepped up beside Red, concerned why she was non-verbal. The room was not empty as she had expected. It wasn’t empty at all and the scene before them was a terrifying one.

Cots. Rows and rows of cots and each one was occupied with a tiny infant. Some were sleeping, wrapped in thin blankets. Others were squirming, having come loose from their bundle. A few were wailing, a loud sound that would make any dog in the surrounding area sit up and take notice. How Brooke didn’t hear them, was beyond her. The adrenaline was a roar in her ears, blocking out everything except listening for footsteps of anyone that might be approaching. A quick count revealed twenty-four cots. Twenty-four babies either stolen are birthed by a mother that was likely a prisoner in the same house of horrors she was trying to escape from.

Covering her mouth, Brooke supressed a scream of disgust. Children. Helpless infants all lined up and ready to be sold by the indescribable monster, Marcus. An auction straight from a mother’s worst nightmare.

“Red,” she tried to get her attention. “Red,” she said with more force. When that still didn’t work, she reached out and lightly shook her. The haunted, empty look in her eyes when Red finally acknowledged her, broke Brooke’s heart into a million tiny pieces.

“My sons. My daughters…” she moved towards the cots. “I—I have to find them. I—I—I didn’t get to—to hold them,” she stammered, peering over the cots at the tiny faces. Her heartbreak was written all over her face as she searched from cot to cot for her children.

Not being able to stand seeing her torment, Brooke rushed to her side, trying to tug her away. “Red, I don’t think they are here now. These…these are infants. As in just born, and you—” Red’s head whipped around to pin Brooke with furious eyes.

“Shut up. You know nothin’. My children are here. They are here.” Tears sprang to Brooke’s eyes at the utter despair in Red’s voice.

“I really wish they were, God, Red. But I promise you, we will make these bastards pay. We will find your children and make sure they can never do this to any other woman,” Brooke’s promise was fierce and true. She would shut this operation down, even if it killed her to do it.

✯Review✯In Your Heart (Willow Creek #3) by Micalea Smeltzer

Synopsis:

I thought I had found love.
I thought I had found my forever.
I’d never been more wrong in all my life.

Sadie Westbrook’s seemingly perfect life comes to a screeching halt when she catches her fiancé in bed with another woman. Suddenly, everything she believed in is tested and there’s only one person she can turn to—the guy who has been by her side ever since their best friend’s fell in love and became inseparable.

Ezra Collins—the bassist for the band Willow Creek—has only ever had one weakness, and her name is Sadie. When he receives a frantic call he rushes to her aid, helping to pick up the pieces of her crumbling life—even if that means letting Sadie live with him.

The close proximity tests the limits of their friendship and as the lines between friends and lovers blur they’ll have to decide if falling in love with your best friend is worth the risk of losing them.

 ✯✯5 Second Chance Stars!!✯✯

I have been waiting for this story for what seems like forever. We meet both Sadie and Ezra in Last To Know which was the first book of this incredible series. Ezra is Maddox & Mathias foster brother. Sadie is Emma best friend. Sadie was the reason Emma actually met Maddox. Once Emma and Maddox got together, Ezra and Sadie ended up becoming best friends.

Sadie has been dating Braden. Nobody in the Willow Creek family likes him. Yes, that what they and me call them. Yes, they're a band, but more importantly they are family. Braden did not like Sadie and Ezra's close friendship. Sadie ended up distancing herself from Ezra, Emma and everybody else for about 6 months. Two weeks before she's going to marry him she walks in on him in bed with another women. Yea, if you read Last To Know you know how Sadie is. It didn't end up too good. When she needed to get bailed outta jail who she call? Ezra. He came to her rescue.

Ezra is not like the rest of the Willow Creek guys. He's the quiet, laid back one. He really is like the Dad of the group. He has always had a thing for Sadie. Anybody that has eyes can see the way he looks at her. So, when Sadie called in trouble he didn't hesitate to run and get her. Then, he moved her into his house. The same one she helped him pick out. Yes, they did everything together for the longest time until she started dating the douche everyone hated.

Now that they're living together in such close quarters things are getting difficult. Ezra is being the same sweet loving guy he always is. Sadie is realizing things with him aren't the same. Her feelings for Ezra are getting stronger and stronger. Everyday they seem harder for her to fight. When Sadie goes on a date with Hayes. Yes, I said that. Both Sadie and Ezra can't fight or hide their feelings anymore!

Ezra immediately tells her no he's not risking their friendship. Sadie gets the bright idea that they should have a friends-with-benefits thing going on. Ezra eventually agrees. Man, did the fireworks fly from there. These two are hot. They also agreed to not let anyone else know about their arrangement. That was going great until Emma talked Sadie to still going away at the time of her would-be honeymoon. Now, Sadie and the whole Willow Creek family as well as Sadie best friend and co-worker Arden and her daughter go away.

Now, they must go back to strictly friends. Which was funny as hell. These two were hot for each other. Not to mention Sadie would wear stuff to purposely get under Ezra's skin. I was rooting for her every time!! ESP since Ezra couldn't make up his damn mind. At all!! One minute he made it seem he wanted to go for the long haul, then it was an arrangement to then making it seem it wasn't permanent. Sadie's head and heart were so messed up and confused. I wanted to strangle Ezra multiple multiple times it was not even funny!! Then, came the time people started figuring it out. And, both had different things going on in their mind. One speaks their mind and the other doesn't.

Micalea is awesome with every book she writes. She always matches the perfect guy with the perfect girl. Even if they don't realize it. They are lol. And, the whole friends-with-benefits thing. Micalea nailed it!!! Every time that situation happens it either ends in 1 person catching more feelings then the other, both gety confused and who knows what will happen or they fall in love and live HEA. I loved seeing Maddox & Emma and Mathias & Remy and Hayes and meeting Arden. Catching up on their relationships and watching their families grow. It was beautiful and hysterical all at the same time! Only Micalea can do that. I can not wait for Hayes next!! I must say that yes this is a standalone. But, I am definitely saying you should read the series in order!!

✯Review✯ Flawed Heart by Bella Jewel

Blurb
**This is a full length, second chance romance**

Max & Belle's story

This isn't the man I married.
The man I married was strong, beautiful and pure.
The man I married cherished our lives together.
The man I married loved me.

This...This isn't that man.

One night. One accident. It changes everything.

I wish I could tell you the exact moment he fell out of love with me. I wish I could tell you there was hope. That I hung on. That I fought. I wish I could tell you that we fixed it. That happily every after was just out of our grips.

It wasn't. I ran, in the dead of the night, I packed my things and I left him.

Now I'm back. He's still the same man. A deadly underground fighter for the House of Obsidian. He's still dangerous. He's still broken. I still love him.

This is the part where I'm supposed to turn around and run... But I don't.

★.¸¸,.•°´★ 4 Stars ★.¸¸,.•°´★

I really enjoyed reading this book, and FINALLY getting Max and Belle's story. Ever since first being introduced to their characters, I was completely and utterly intrigued. While Flawed Heart was NOTHING like I expected, it was still a great read nonetheless.

Let me start off with the negatives for me, and then I will get to the positive. There are two negatives for me with this story, which is why it did not get a 5 star rating from me. The first, and major issue for me with the book was that I really wanted to see more from Max's POV in the present. Especially when he first saw Belle again after 5 years. I feel like this was a big thing that should have been showed, and in talking to some other friends of mine who read the book, they too felt the same way. I feel like a part of the story was missing without it.
Another thing that bothered be was how Belle was made to feel like their 5 year split was her fault. Not for nothing, but if a man ever treated me the way Max did to her, I sure as shit would not have stayed around. I would have taken off, just like Belle had. I didn't like how she was made to feel like shit and like it was her fault. I understand his reasoning for pushing her away, BUT he really treated her worse than the shit under your shoe. How could he expect her to actually stay around and fight for their relationship after acting that way?!?!? While he didn't physically abuse her, he mentally and emotionally abused her, and I am actually shocked with just how much she put up with before walking away.

Now, with the negative out of the way, I loved the story in general. The switching from past to present is always one of my favorites, and I absolutely loved getting to learn about their relationship from the beginning…leading all the way to where they are now. Nowadays too much pressure is placed on ones "image" or "popularity", and it was nice to see how Max was able to move past the superficial ideals that were set forth and truly follow his heart. He was a great guy, and I loved his "before" character. Their "before" relationship was adorable and really tugged at my heartstrings. Their "present" was rough. It was full of pain, regret, and heartbreak, but to see how throughout all the years of not seeing one another, and all that transpired between the two of them, they still loved each other wholeheartedly….it warned my heart.
Immy (their daughter) was by far my favorite character in the book. I found myself laughing a lot when she was in a scene. I have two boys her age, and the way the author portrayed her is spot on as to how they act with certain things.

I am really hoping to see more of Max and Belle, and see how their relationship progresses in the future books. That's one of my fav things with Bella's books…..how she always has previous characters making an appearance in later books. They all tie together, and it's amazing to me. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!!!!

Three years later and I'm still hoping. In my heart I know I have to let him go but how can I? He's the only man I've ever loved. He"s my soul mate. My life.

Then I meet Max. He's everything Aiden isn't and as much as I'm trying to fight my feelings, I'm losing. I don't want to fight anymore.

I need to live my life.

I need to move on.

But in order to move forward I need to let go of the past.

 ✯✯5 Second Chance Stars!!✯✯

I always jump up and down when I see that Missy Johnson has a new release coming. This was my second Missy Johnson book this week! She needs to hurry up and give me another one. This was definitely a cute, quick read. It took me less then 24 hours to finish it completely.

Kiara is engaged to Aiden who's the love of her life and the father of her 2yr old daughter Tilly. One minute they have a happy life full of life, happiness and love. The next minute there are cops at her front door telling her he's been in a terrible accident. Aiden hasn't died but it's just as bad. He's in a vegetative state. A coma. He will never recover. Kiara knows he'd never want to live the rest of his life hooked up to machines and tubes. Unfortunately, they weren't married so his parent's have all the control.

Three years later Aiden is still hooked  up to the machines. Kiara is not living the life she should be. She has a part time job. Visits Aiden on her days off. Aiden's mother basically makes Kiara's life a living hell every time she sees her. The only time she's somewhat nice to her is when Kiara brings Tilly over there for dinner every week. Tilly is the only good thing in her life. Her sister Ellie and brother-in-law Grant have been a huge part in her life as well. They're always there. Help her raise Tilly. But, lately Ellie has been Kiara to start dating.

Max has just taken  a new job as the principal of an elementary school. He moves back to his old neighborhood. Max's old friend Grant has set him up on horror blind date after the other. Like everyone legit just gets worse. Max went through hell with his ex fiance but he's finally ready to find love. Which is why he agreed to go out on another Grant set him up with.

Both Max and Kiara show up for dinner expecting 2 different things. He's there for a blind date. She's there for dinner with her sister. Yea, what an interesting way to meet. Max gets her to stay and to become friends. He promises her he'll be friends as long as she wants.

What starts off as a simple friendship turned into something more. Max had instantly liked her. But, understood her reasons for not wanting  a relationship. So, he'd wait for her. Kiara started liking Max more and more. The more she liked him the more guilty she felt. Aiden's mother continued to make her life miserable. She kept trying to tell Kiara how to raise Tilly when it came to Aiden. No caring how things would effect Tilly now or in the future. It was sad.

Kiara has to learn how to move forward.Learn it's OK for her to open her heart to someone other then Aiden. This poor girl had so much going on. Between loosing Aiden. Work. Aiden's mother. Falling for Max is throwing her for a loop. Her sister telling her how to deal with her love life. The best thing in her life is her daughter. This is a great book. Sad and hard at times. I didn't cry as much as I thought. But, it still got me. It was a definite second chance story.
