This is Staci Hart's best book yet!! This isn't my first book by her. But, it was something completely new for her. I for one absolutely loved it. At only 8% I was deeply invested and crying and not ready for this to end.

Elliot and Wade where high school sweethearts. Once Elliot graduated high school she planned on following Wade anywhere he went in the army. But, when he wanted to change the plans Elliot couldn't just drop everything. When Wade left Elliot was devastated and realized she made the worst mistake of her life, she wrote him. For an entire year she wrote Wade begging him to forgive her and comeback for her. After  year of silence she gave up. 

Wade hasn't been home more then a day or two since the day he left without Elliot. 7yrs later he's back because his was diagnosed with cancer and few weeks to live. If that wasn't a kick to the gut, his sister wants her best friend by her side. Elliot. Wade agrees BC he knows his father is just as important to Elliot as he is to Wade and his sisters.

Being around each other is proving to be very difficult. They're all doing whatever they can to make Wade's dad peaceful. They're trying to stay outta each others way as much as possible. Only together for their small family activities. But, when things get hard on them they always grab onto the closet thing that can ground them. Each other.

This was so beautifully written. The beginning of every chapter had parts of a poem that set up the chapter. The secondary characters except for a few were great as well. Wade's father stole every scene he was in when he was with Wade or Elliot. I'm hoping and praying Staci continues writing more stories like this, BC she's a natural. It's another must read from this incredible author!

Author Bio

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics.

Rie Warren sure can sucker me into a story. I read this in two sittings it is unreal. Rie  can't write fast enough for me at this point. 

Rafe and Peyton had an instant connection and it was flammable. They met and hooked up the night Rafe was drafted in the NFL. He was drafted to the Carolina Crushers. After their night together they didn't see each other for 6 yrs.

Rafe and the Carolina Crushers are devasted over the loss of the owner. If the fact they were on a loosing streak wasn't bad enough. But, Rafe was unprepared for the new owner to walk in. There hasn't been a day in almost 6 yrs that he didn't think of Peyton. He realizes quickly that she's not going to make it easy on him. Rafe will do what he can to make Peyton his and for good.

Peyton knew seeing Rafe again was going to be hard. He hurt her the last time. Right now she has one priority. Make the Carolina Crushers #1 again. Everything else can wait. Until Rafe proves to be smoother then she remembered. But,  before they can make a real go at it, Peyton has a secret. A secret she needs to tell Rafe about. One she should've told sooner. 

This book was fan-ta-stic!! It was such an awesome second chance romance story. It was full of life, laughter, redemption, humor, family and love. And, in typical Rie fashion is was super hot, sexy and kinky! There was more football players I need to get my hands on next. Hurry up Rie

I led Peyton upstairs after grabbing her bag, our hands brushing together sending that same hot sizzle coursing through my body.

“You can shower up in here.” I guided her into my room, giving it a quick once over.

I’d changed the sheets, made the bed, tidied the fuck up . . .

Dammit. I’d missed a pair of briefs on the floor.

Swiftly kicking them under the bed while Peyton inspected the ocean view outside the tall windows, I said, “Bathroom’s through that door. I put out fresh towels for you.”

And dammmn, Peyton looked good in my bedroom when she spun to face me. “This is your room?”

“Mmm.” My gaze lingered on her body and that goddamn bikini-thing.

“What about you?” she asked, strolling closer.

“Are you inviting me to join you in the shower?” Because if so I was in danger of shredding my shorts with my rapidly hardening cock.

“Maybe.” She blushed deliciously.

Drawing her straight against me, I brushed a light kiss over her smooth, slightly salty lips. “Trust me, darlin’. If my mom and Liv weren’t here I’d have us both stripped down and you soaking wet in ten seconds flat.”

Her fingertips made small circles through the black hair on my chest, and I cursed quietly. “Who says you haven’t already made me wet?”
