DETAILS:
TITLE: Hold on to Hope
RELEASE DATE: October 28th, 2019
Evan Bryant wasn't your typical hero.
But he was mine.
Broken by the worlds’ standards, he was still the strongest boy I would ever know.
My best friend. The boy I’d given everything to. My heart, my body, and the promise of forever.
The day I’d needed him most, he walked away.
He left me shattered and questioning the love I’d thought we’d shared.
Three years later, I wasn’t prepared for him to return to Gingham Lakes.
It wouldn’t have mattered if he wasn’t the most beautiful man I’d ever seen.
My fingers still would have ached to caress his skin.
My body still would have begged to get lost in his touch.
And my heart . . . it would have always sung his name.
But time changes things. With it, secrets that could ruin everything.

✯✯5 Froggy & Unicorn Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Can we find a way to love again, or have the fears of our past stolen the hope of our forever...

Woohoo!!!! Even though this is “technically” a stand-alone nov, this is about two characters that were in AL. Jackson’s Fight For Me Series. Frankie Leigh was introduced in book one Show Me The Way and Evan was the last book Follow Me Back.

Last time we saw Evan and Frankie Leigh they were 8 & 5 and best friends, attached at the hip, seriously overprotective of each other and promising to get married when they get older. Frankie had every intention of doing all of that until one night Evan up and left without saying a word to her except leaving her a letter apologizing.

It’s been three years since Evan’s left Frankie and it’s been three years since she got a full nights sleep. Frankie’s heartbroken that Evan left. She misses her best friend and lover. She’d give anything just to know he’s alive and well. When Evan walks into his moms coffee shop outta the blue three years after he left Frankie was shocked. His eyes show her he’s sorry and broken. But, it’s what he’s holding that kills Frankie immediately. She wants to run and not look back but knows that’ll be hard no matter what she says. For now, Frankie will ignore and hideaway for as long as possible.

Evan fell in love with Frankie when he met her when he was eight years old. That love never went away, it just got stronger the older they got. Evan’s life was saved when his mom found Kale who got his heart replaced and then they fell in love and became a family. Kale’s the man and father Evan looks up too. When Evan’s cardiologist gave him bad news he made a point to live his his a certain way.

When he couldn’t stay away from Frankie any longer he let his guard down. Until he collapsed. When his parents, Frankie and the rest of their family showed up Evan saw the look in their eyes. He didn’t wanna hurt them anymore so he packed a bag, left notes and left.  Evan never looked back bc even though he was truly miserable and lonely he thought he was doing what was right for them.

When an old neighbor knocks on Evan’s door he knows his life’s never going to be the same. Evan also knows him and his families lives are in danger Evan heads home. Evan knows he needs his parents help.

The minute Evan spots Frankie he realizes leaving her was his biggest mistake. Evan won’t give up until Frankie agrees to go out with him and really listen to his side of things. Frankie doesn’t want anything to do with Evan but she can’t say no to him. Before they can fully settle anything there’s somebody coming after Evan and the people he cares for most. Frankie and Evan must protect each other’s and the ones they care about in order to come out on top.

OMG!!! I LOVED this story. I had planned their HEA when I finished the Fight For Me series lol. I can 100% fully and truly admit AL Jackson wrote it better then I ever could’ve lol. I’m so glad she wrote their story and can’t wait for her next release.

✯Release Review✯Solomon's Surrender (Paranormals of Avynwood #4) by Michelle Dare

Title: Solomon’s Surrender
Author: Michelle Dare
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Cover Designer: Regina Wamba at Mae I Design
Publication Date: October 11th, 2019
Blurb:

Cocky. No word better described Solomon. He projected the playboy image, but only he knew the truth. Deep inside, he wanted what his brother and friends had—a mate.
Fifteen hundred years was a long time to be alone. Solomon’s pure vampire bloodline and family name made him desirable, but that didn’t take away the loneliness.
Lilah was fiercely independent and distrusting of paranormals out of necessity. Some treated her with contempt because of her half cheetah shifter/half fae heritage. They thought she was beneath them when she was actually superior.
Someone was determined to take Lilah’s life, but who was behind the attacks remained a mystery. Solomon fought off the first assault then became Lilah’s sole protector until he uncovered who wanted to harm her.
One wanted a mate, and the other didn’t. But fate didn’t ask for their opinion. They could only fight what was meant to be for so long before the inevitable happened. If they managed to stay alive, maybe they would learn what it meant to be fated.

✯✯Solomon Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Eek!! I wanted to dance along to Ren & Stimpy’s  song Happy Happy Joy Joy when I saw Solomon’s story was the next one who’s story was being told!!

Lilah s a young cougar shifter. But, she’s not your typical shifter. She’s half cougar, half fae and she’s a loner. It was just her and her dad after her mom passed away. When her fae side came her dad abandoned her. Her closest friend Don, a bear shifter who owns the bar she works at.

Lilah’s not looking at finding a mate. It’s why she doesn’t touch anybody.  When Don has a family emergency he has to go home. He calls his vampire friend Tristan to come help Lilah. She thought that was going to be hard enough. Until Solomon Verascue struts into the bar and instantly looks her way and no other afterwards.

Lilah lets him know it’s not happening and yet Solomon keeps coming back. Lilah had Solomon under control until somebody blew up the bar and tried killing her. Everything changed. Solomon, Ford, Tristan  and Don all agree and urge Lilah to stay with Solomon until they can figure out whose after her and why.

Solomon’s been alone for centuries and it’s never bothered him before. But with his brother and best friends finding their mates, Solomon’s finding himself wanting what they have. He’s not actively looking for a mate but the minute he laid his eyes on Lilah he was a goner.

When somebody blew up the bar his first instinct was to make sure Lilah was safe. Solomon will do anything to keep her safe and eventually make Lilah his.

But the longer they’re together the farther away they are from finding any answers. Whoever is after them knows a lot about them. Even though Lilah insisted she didn’t want a mate she knows with just one touch Solomon’s her mate and the longer they’re together it’s harder to fight it.

Lilah might’ve been young. But, she never backed down to her feelings or what she believed in. She didn’t cringe when Solomon’s mom walked in the door and tried intimidating her. Even though she still had abandonment issues from her father she didn’t let that ruin her.

Solomon oh Solomon... I’ve loved him since the very beginning. He’s  a son, brother and friend. He’s a joker. He’s a protector to the ones he loves. He’s a fighter. That’s what I’ve known him as. But, in this you see he’s also lonely. With everybody finding mates he’s afraid of being alone and wants to spend his life with somebody. When he meets Lilah he knows they belong together. Even though she wasn’t sure about them Solomon would wait another century for her to figure it out.

I loved this story!!! It had everything you’d come to expect, love and need in this word of the Avynwood Paranormals. No joke!! That epilogue was epic. I legit lmao and then wanted to cry bc it was over. Can’t wait for more from this amazing world!!

✯Release Review✯Undone (Unbound Trilogy #2) by Kathy Coopmans

Title: Undone
Series: The Unbound Trilogy, Book 2
Author: Kathy Coopmans
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Is it possible to make up for the way we have hurt others?
I wonder if it truly is.

Can we undo what has already been done?
No. We can’t.

I know for a fact, we cannot un-say words that have been bitterly spoken by a deliberate slip of a tongue.
Words hurt.
They sting.
They burn.

The truth is, I didn’t want to hurt Ellie Wynn, but I knew I would.

She was a temptation I couldn’t resist. An addiction that lived in my blood, and I wasn’t about to go in search of a cure.

Not when I needed her.
Wanted her.
Craved her.

There are no quick fixes to what I’ve done.
No pill to take away her pain.

All I have is the cold truth.

It’s brittle.
It’s brutal.
I’ll be damned if because of it, I let her slip away.

✯✯5 Unpredictable Stars!!!✯✯

Kathy’s killing me!!! When Unravel ended the cliffhanger was mean. I thought that evil stepsister Whitney was saying anything to hurt Ellie as much as possible. So, I went into Undone hoping to know what was coming. Well, I was wrong and unprepared. Checkmate Kathy!!

Logan’s secret is out and the wind was just knocked out of her. Ellie knew Logan was hiding something but the fact it Whitney the 1-told him and 2-the secret Logan was hiding was about Whitney.

Ellie didn’t want anything to do with Logan afterwards. Luckily Ellie has Renita in her corner covering her back. She went to Logan to talk him into giving Ellie the time to have what she learned sink in until she was ready to talk.

When Ellie finally calmed down she went to Logan to sit down for a full explanation. Ellie couldn’t believe everything Logan’s done for her at his own expense and she can see and feel the love Logan has for her. She knows he’ll have secrets but that he’ll tell her when the times right.

In order for them to truly move on Ellie must face her bully. One person who should’ve been there for her, but instead helped her getting attacked and hurt for so long. Her stepsister. Whitney. Ellie needed to let Whitney know she can’t hurt her anymore. Things seem to get better until she’s attacked. Ellie and Logan loose more then they could of expected. They’ll fight together as a team.

Logan was mad at himself for not telling Ellie about Whitney and why everything is what it is. What he does do is let her know she’ll never hurt her again. But, first Logan must find out everything Whitney knows. That includes everything Whitney has told Shadow and wants to know Shadow’s plans and whose helping him.

Logan makes a trip to the prison Shadow is being held at for the next five months. These two hate each other and aren’t afraid of the other one knowing. Shadow knows Logan’s with Ellie and Logan doesn’t care. He plans on taking Shadow out.

Then tragedy hits him and Ellie in a way either of them were prepared for and something they’ve never saw coming. As long as they’re together they’ll get thru it together.

I knew this was a trilogy and the second cliffhanger was gunna be worse than the previous one. But, OMG I didn’t see the last part of the book coming and was blindsided but the last paragraph. Mind blown and heartbroken.

I’m looking forward to the next book. Between Logan, Seth, Lane, Gabe, Rocco and Renita I’m honestly not sure who I’m more scared of lol no joke.

“Goddamn it, Ellie. I know you are up there. I’m not above breaking down this door. Please, it’s you I want and need, not Whitney. You have to believe me. It’s not what it seems.”
It is for me. It’s ingrained in my skull, pushing into my bones and it’ll probably live there forever.
“You were on top of her,” I whisper once more. Afraid if I speak louder, he’ll hear me. “You didn’t come after me. Worse, if she knows about me and you, then her brother does too.”
Fear.
It sits like a pillow over my face. I am suffocating and smothering from it.
I can’t let fear take me over again. Always looking over my shoulder waiting for Shadow to catch up to me, but I can’t deny he’s out there plotting inside of his sick mind either. I can’t escape the threatening thoughts that Shadow will find me. They take up every square inch of my mind.
“I need to find my strength again.” It’s like it vanished into the air.
“Ellie, baby girl. Sit, and I’ll get you something to eat. Run you a bath, anything you want. You don’t have to talk to him, sweetheart. You owe him nothing. You owe yourself everything. Don’t you let that beautiful mind of yours take you back to that night, do you hear me? You are strong, a survivor.”
Renita is here. Oh, thank God. She must have caught the first flight home she could get.
I barely remember Norah calling her last night. The last thing I recall was our neighbor Eric helping me out of the car, and up the stairs and the minute my feet hit the landing, I ran to my bathroom, dropped to my knees and threw up. I sobbed while Norah held onto my hair and held me, and Eric apologized over and over that he thought I knew Logan was married. He carried me to bed, and I bawled into the crook of Norah’s neck until I couldn’t see through my bloodshot and puffy eyes.
“I’m sorry once again, Ellie.” I hear Eric as he continues to speak, but I’m not sure what he’s saying. It sounds distant and muffled.
Panic.
It’s clawing up my chest and squeezing.
I clamp my eyes shut, my mind searching for anything to grasp hold of and hang on. I see nothing but the painful scars Whitney split open, and here I thought if I saw her again, I’d stand my ground and kill her.
I have to get out of here. I need to run far away.
Fear rushes through my veins, and a strange, intense sensation rises and slithers down my legs. I swallow hard, body shaking out of my control in a shroud of fear. What if Shadow knows where I am? What if he’s standing outside the door? What if he comes after me in the dead of night?
An invisible hand clasps over my mouth, and in an instant, I’m back to that night, the night where I was raped and beaten.
I gag, my skin itching to be clean. I recall how my body jarred with each dirty thrust that tore through me, how the pain seared through my skin and took away every feeling of safety I ever had.
It was brutal.
My death sentence.
That’s what it felt like, and I escaped it for so long. Now it’s back with a vengeance that rips right through my core of strength. Anxiety.
I can feel it constructing like a snowball in the pit of my stomach. Rolling and rolling as it grows into a giant ball that smashes against my insides and takes the air out of my lungs. It slams into my heart, building a wall that cages in dread, horror, and that ungodly emotion that never goes away. Terror.
I’m surrounded by these emotions. I can’t get away. Can’t claw my way out. They are uncaring and controlling and drowning me.
“Ellie, are you alright?” someone asks.
No. I’m not. I think I’m in the middle of a panic attack.
“Help,” I squeak, having no idea if anyone hears me or not—my legs wobble. Everything inside of me goes tight. I feel my ribs crowding as if bound by ropes, straining to inflate my lungs. My head is a container of disarray spinning and spinning and pushing my mind into blackness.
I want to run far away.
I turn to face Eric, Norah, and Renita, the three of them giving me sympathetic eyes.
“Help me; I can’t catch my breath. Oh, God. He’s coming. Shadow is coming.” Everything begins to spin, and it feels as if the ground is giving away under my feet. I collapse onto my hands and knees, my breathing shallow and quick.
Not long ago, I wondered how much more I could take before I broke. I’m breaking, and until Whitney and Shadow are both dead, I might never be able to put myself together again.
