✯Excerpt Reveal✯Where There's Smoke(The Sweet Sin Series #2) by Kathy Coopmans

Where There's Smoke, an all new Standalone emotional rock star romance by Kathy Coopmans is coming March 14th!

Synopsis

From USA Today Bestselling Author comes a standalone in The Sweet Sin Series.
The lives of Dean Wagner and Tatum Fields have been ruled by the hand of fate.
The past six years of my life have been consumed by guilt. Since we lost Landon to a fire, I’ve done everything in my power to protect my daughter, Leila, from finding out the truth about how her twin brother died. Nothing in my life means more to me than her. Not my band, not my reputation. Nothing.
Until I see Tatum, the woman I saved on the beach the same night she dealt with a loss of her own. ~ The daily routine I’ve settled into is what keeps me going. Work at my chocolate shop, pay the bills, repeat. I don’t date. I don’t trust. And I have never forgotten the man who walked away from saving my life without allowing me to thank him.
I know how to reach him, but I avoid him at all costs.
Until fate decides to make another appearance.
This is a story of how destiny ends up bringing these two souls back together, and how fate, the word very little people believe in is really their friend, after all.

Excerpt

Death by chocolate and Dean. Yes, please. “Well, this could lead to a whole lot of trouble.” My nerves all lodge in my throat when he speaks. I suddenly lost my appetite for anything but him. I swallow when he shuts the door and locks it behind him, confining me with curious brown eyes that have turned as dark as the violent sea after a storm, and yet they don’t release my face. From them pulsates a force I can feel in my bones. The look hidden behind his stare is far from gentlemanly. His darkened gaze makes me want to stand up and press against him. Feel those lips move in a kiss while his hands roam all over the curves of my body. Those eyes of his touch me everywhere, and I like it so, so much that I don’t want to break away. “That depends.” I lift a brow, my voice indicating confidence I surely don’t have. “On what?” His low voice rumbles through my boiling blood and hits me between the legs. I welcome the stirring sensations that have been as dead as the woman they belong to. “Whether you like chocolate mixed with caramel or not.” One corner of his mouth lifts, followed by the other. There are many things I find attractive about Dean. His mouth is one of them. However, his mouth lifted in a smile that’s all for me is one of the sexiest things I’ve seen. “I haven’t had the two together in years. Something tells me I’ll be eating it as often as I can after today.” His grin is so wicked it descends to the tips of my toes. Innuendo to a sexual plea that only I can fill or not; I’m taking it as one. Right now, though, I want to find out if this man can fulfill all my needs. I won’t settle for anything less. As far as I’m concerned, I deserve someone who pleases me, makes me happy, listens to me, and will hold my hand through all aspects of life. For today, I’m putting my sexual needs above everything else. His long legs bring him within a foot of me. I tilt my head back, my neck straining, throat bobbing when I take him in. He is so incredibly handsome I’m afraid if I reach out and touch him, he won’t be real. Yet he is. Towering over me, hands dangling at his sides, fingers bunched up in a fist as if he’s straining himself from pulling me into his arms, placing me on the counter, and ridding me of my clothes while he stands there deciding what part of my body he wants to spread the contents of the jar I’m clutching to my chest first. “Have a seat.” I gesture to the floor, place the jar between us, and screw off the lid. His big body meets the floor. He stretches out his legs until they’re a few inches from my hips. Then he does something that makes me sopping wet. He hooks his feet behind my backside and slides me a little closer all the while dropping a little deeper into my soul with eyes that embrace so much grief I want to leap into them and take it all away. I’m so far out of my element that I swallow the lump in my throat, lodging it up against my heart that’s beating at an accelerated speed. “Let me.” He takes the jar from my hands, draws in a deep breath, and starts to read the directions. The lid hits the wooden floor with an echoing clank. The bubble we’re in widens. Thank God it does; I was beginning to feel the dampness between my warm folds leak out of me. This man is going to drive me insane before he lays a hand on me. I’m suddenly frightened that when he does, I’m going to break apart from his touch. What on earth was I thinking asking him to come here and test items that should be for lovers who are acquainted with each other, or ones who are a lot more promiscuous than I’ve only dreamed of being? I mentally shake the fantasies I’ve had ever since I could remember away. I want this to be a slow, deliberate seduction. One that in the end will drive us both to our knees. “I take it you haven’t done this before? Take off your shirt,” I ask with a sudden burst of boldness and position myself on my knees between his legs. “No. Have you?” I shake my head slightly as he exhales a deep breath. The resistance to hold back from kissing him just about snaps in half. He is so strikingly handsome there should be an eighth deadly sin named after him. “That’s good to hear. Don’t mind taking off my shirt. I gotta ask, though. I thought I was the customer.” “You can be when I’m done. If I’m going to sell this stuff, then I need to know how good it tastes. Take it off,” I demand as I dip my fingers into the gooey concoction. My mouth goes dry as he unbuttons his shirt and slips it off his muscular arms, providing me with a close-up of a chest that’s smooth, demanding, and well-defined. “Oh, I plan on taking full advantage of trying this out. Fair warning, Miss Fields, if you put that on my chest, it’s only fair I put it on yours. I make no promises I’ll stop there.”

The years apart melted away when I saw him. Time hadn't changed my feelings, after all. Jealousy flared anew. My heart, which I thought had healed, was back to being in a million pieces.

Everything isn't always as it seems. One moment could cause a ripple effect with unexpected consequences that last for years. Not a day had gone by that I didn't think of her. Where I am is standing in front of her—asking for another chance.

✯✯5 Faithful Stars!!!✯✯

Holy mother of feels!! Where I End will forever be in my top 5 reads. I was hooked to Cy's story and I loved his best friend Parker. When I found out Where I Am was going to be Parker's story I jumped for joy. But, I was unprepared for what Parker was going thru.

Astoria AKA Tora to Parker was unprepared for Parker to come into her life. So unprepared she forgot she was driving and almost wrecked her car bc of it. Their attraction was hard and fast and mutual. Astoria planned on spending the rest of her life with Parker. Then one night she sees Parker with someone else. Before he can say anything she leaves. Astoria went to college and never answered Parker's calls or texts. But, now she's graduated and doesn't have a job so she is headed home. She might've dated casually in college but nothing serious bc she gave her heart to Parker and he never returned it.

The minute Tora almost crashed into his car Parker his heart belonged to her. When she walked in on him that night 4yrs ago he hadn't been cheating on her. He was helping his friend. But, Tora ran out and never looked back. Parker refuses to give up on her, on them. When he sees that Tora's back in town he makes it his mission to get her to give him 5 minutes to listen to him.

When Parker finally gets Tora to listen to him she couldn't believe how dumb she was. If only she stopped when he yelled for her or called him back they would've never lost the past 4yrs. Their chemistry is still completely off the charts and they pick up where they left off and learn who they've become while apart.

But, things aren't all that easy. There were things that happened that night 4yrs ago. Things that go beyond Parker and Tora. It effects Parker's best friend Blaire. He calls her B and to him she's his sister. Whenever she's calls Parker he stops what he's doing and runs to her. Parker will do whatever he has to in order to keep her safe. After 4yrs Parker finally has some backup bc they've never told anyone what happened. Now, Tora, Eve and Cy are all in and they'll need all hands on deck for what they're dealing with.

Parker oh Parker. We learn from Where I End he'll do anything for his family and the ones he love. We really learn how far he'll go to protect the ones he keeps the closest to his heart. The love he had for Tora was deep, real and beautiful. Even if he was with other women in the years they were separated it was only physically. His heart belonged sole to Tora. And, everything he did for Blaire shows you two things, what a real man looks like and the meaning of a true friend.

Astoria is a wonderful person. Even through she ran from Parker you have to remember she was 18 and only graduating high school. At that age you don't tend to think things thru. Her heart told her one thing and the whole not everything is as it seems. Once she knew the whole story she didn't twice to move forward in her life with Parker and to help Blaire. She's a truly beautiful woman.

Even though Where I End and Where I Am are considered standalone books I'd read them in order. Both of these books are so beautifully written and will stick with you for awhile. I know they will for me. I hope Blaire's next. I also hope Michelle doesn't stop writing for a long time!

Genres: A Forbidden Love, Enemies to Lovers, Royal Romance

Since the beginning of time, tales have been told about Eden. But all the stories are wrong. Running parallel alongside Earth, but never touching, there exists not just a garden, but an entire world of vivid colours and breathtaking beauty where the Seraph reside. Jazmine has lived in ten different foster homes, in ten different towns and all her life she has felt like she doesn't belong - not in the trailer park which happens to be foster home number ten, not anywhere on Earth. After a universe shattering revelation, she discovers why. Far from being the nothing and no one, with no past and no future, that Jazmine had always believed herself to be, she discovers that she is in fact an heir to one of the seven remaining Seraph Dynasties. She is Jazmine Evenstar, the last heir to the sovereign Evenstar Dynasty. Thrust into the world of wealth and privilege in which the impossibly beautiful and equally cruel Dynasty heirs reside, Jazmine is forced to manoeuvre the tangled web that holds the Dynasties together. Raphael St. Tristan, heir to the rival sovereign St. Tristan Dynasty and next in line to the throne of Eden, the guy with the face of an angel but who is as wicked as the devil himself, promises to break her. Jazmine quickly learns that the beauty of Eden is nothing but a deception as she uncovers the secrets festering at the heart of it. But can she disentangle herself from the web of deception and intrigue that the Dynasty heirs have spun? Can she stop herself from falling into Raphael St. Tristan's trap before he can fulfil his promise to shatter her completely? Publication Date: Mar. 6th, 2018
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:
In the dusty ruins of the world, three groups exist: the Sovereign, the Fortis, and the Outliers. Within their walled city, exclusive access to the only remaining technology gives the Sovereign an advantage that seems impossible to beat. In exchange for meager scraps and free reign outside the walls, they use the brawn of the Fortis to their advantage while the Outliers struggle to survive. Living on land that has not healed from the poison of the past, and surrounded by dangers too numerous to count, the Outliers have adapted - but to the Sovereign and the Fortis, they are nothing.
Indra is an Outlier. Each day she braves the wastelands, making the dangerous journey from the wilds where she lives to the City so she can serve the Sovereign in order to give her family a better life. Inside the walls, she has no rights and no freedom. Not only is she powerless to resist the Sovereign’s harsh rule, but she is also unable to do anything to save her people from the brutality of the Fortis. For centuries they have made their abuse of Outliers a sport, but when Asa comes to Indra’s rescue, she sees something different in him. Something that marks him as so much more than just a Fortis guard.
But as Indra’s world begins to unravel, even the quiet alliance she has formed with Asa cannot save her from the wrath of the Sovereign. In one life-altering moment, everything Indra has ever known is ripped away, forcing her to face a world even more harsh and unforgiving. Broken and scarred, Indra finds herself on a journey that will challenge everything she’s ever been taught, learning along the way that she’s stronger than she ever imagined. Maybe even strong enough to free her people forever.

“He is in love with you,” Mira finally said.
The statement warmed my cheeks even though I had already come to this conclusion. “I know.”
“And you?” She glanced my way, not turning her head completely when she did it, as if she thought it would make me more likely to answer her honestly. As if she thought I was hiding something from her. “Do you love him?”
“I know nothing about him, but the answer would be no either way. I love Bodhi. I would not have married him otherwise. Plus, no matter what Asa does to help me, an Outlier cannot be with a Fortis. It is impossible.”
“Why?” Mira asked.
I turned my body to face her, walking sideways so that my back was to the Lygan Cliffs even though I had been taught to never lose my focus in this way. “Because we are not the same.”
“Now you sound like one of the Sovereign.” Mira’s blue eyes rolled in their sockets, but her lips pulled up into a smile that helped to ease some of the sting her words had brought to me. “We are the same, Indra. We are all people. We have just been trained to believe that we are different.”
I opened my mouth to argue with her, but no words came out. She was right. Sovereign, Outlier, Fortis, we were all just people. The only thing that kept us apart were the walls that had been constructed years ago, both the physical ones and the ones that existed only in our minds. Those were built on oppression and prejudices so old that no one alive today had a clue why they even existed.
A click echoed off the rocks at my back, followed closely by a few more. In front of me, my friend’s body went rigid. I spun to face the cliffs, the knife in my hand up and ready as more clicking rang through the air. But there was nothing in sight. Not yet, anyway.
“Where is it?” Mira hissed.
At my side, she too had her knife up. This was a position we had been in before, and as long as there was only one of the creatures, we knew what to do to defend ourselves. The problem would come if they were hunting in a pack. One lygan was dangerous enough, but four or five? We would not be able to beat that many.
We remained still. The clicks grew closer together and louder, but with the way the sounds echoed off the rocks, it was impossible to tell how many there were until the creature—or creatures—decided to show themselves.
“Be ready,” I said for my benefit as much as for hers.
The hiss came first. It was a sound that was low and seemed to come from the deepest part of the animal’s belly, and it was followed only a beat later by the appearance of the lygan itself. The creature was bigger than average, its tail as long as my arm and its body only a little shorter. Its claws clicked across the rocks as it scurried forward, seeming to move at an impossibly fast speed considering its stunted legs. The red and purple scales shone even in the limited light of the evening as the lygan twisted between the sharp rocks that made up the cliffs. Now that it was closer, the click of its claws seemed twice as loud, and when it hissed a second time, the sharp points of its teeth were visible.
Readying myself for a fight, I planted my feet. I knew from experience that the creature would pounce without warning, that was how Mira had been injured before, and I was ready when it finally flew through the air, headed right for me.
I slashed my knife up and the blade hit home on the lygan’s stomach. It screeched just before its body slammed into mine, and when I flew back a cry retched from my body on impact. We went down together, my back slamming into the dry ground and the lygan landing on top of me. It was injured and my knife was still in its belly, but it had not given up yet. The animal wiggled and snapped its jaw, and his teeth came close enough to my nose that I felt its moist breath against my face. His yellow eyes were focused on me, the black pupils dilated to slits. The scales were smooth against my hand when I grabbed its neck in an attempt to hold him back, and his claws scratched at my body as he tried to get the advantage.
“Indra!”
Mira’s voice seemed far away, but I knew she was nearby and ready to help. Just as I had been with her the day she was attacked. Her face appeared above me. The setting sun shone down on her blond hair, making it glow, and in the brilliant light her passage markings seemed twice as dark against her pale skin.
The sun reflected off the metal when she raised her knife and I had to turn my head away. My hand was still on the lygan’s neck, holding the thing back as it snapped its teeth, but even before Mira had stabbed it I could feel its strength waning. Then she did, and when the knife entered the lygan’s body, the creature let out a shriek that left a ringing behind in my ears. The lygan jerked and its claws clamped down on my stomach, puncturing my dress and forcing a scream out of me. Mira pulled her knife from the creature and brought it down again, and this time the animal let out a drained wail that was preceded by its entire body going slack.
When that happened, its claws relaxed as well, freeing me from the piercing hold it had on my body. I shoved the animal off and it rolled to the ground at my side. Mira was panting, as was I, and for a beat neither one of us moved. She stayed frozen, standing over me while I remained on my back, staring up at her.

I sighed, hugging the pillow closer and waiting with baited breath for him to come back to bed.
It was Sunday and I didn’t have to work today, so I kind of hoped he’d do that thing with his tongue again.
My body quivered and I bit my lower lip.
He sat on the edge of the mattress and without a single glance my way, he said, “Pet, I have shit to do.”
I tensed.
Then the daisy heads snapped off and the velvet petals shrivelled up in my belly.
Uh, what?
Suddenly, that hot raspy Irish accent didn’t sound so hot.
Okay, I wasn’t expecting a proposal or anything, not by a long shot, but I did expect a morning kiss and a possible number exchange for a possible second date. Or rather first date.
He didn’t even pretend like he’d call.
God, was I that naïve?
I sat up, taking the sheet with me. “Excuse me?”
He bent, picked up his cargo pants from the floor and tugged them on.
“I have shit to do, babe. I called a cab. It’ll be here any second.”
My heart slammed into my chest. He called me a cab? Was I supposed to think this was okay because he called me a cab?
Because it wasn’t. It totally wasn’t.
There was a brief honk outside.
Oh. My. God. When did he call me a cab? When he had his finger in my ass.

Genre: Contemporary/New Adult Romance
Release Date: February 14, 2018

Sawyer Weston is cocky and arrogant. With his sinful smile and sexy dimples, he’s gotten his way most of his life. Infamous for his one-night stands and moves between the sheets, the lead singer for Bastards and Dangerous has never considered relationships—until he meets her.

With her curvy body, sarcastic mouth, and uncanny ability to put Sawyer in his place, Amelia Greyson has captured his heart. She can see into his soul and knows what he truly wants from life. Sawyer has a problem, though—she’s dating his twin brother Noah.

Although he wants her with every breath he takes, Sawyer and Noah’s complicated history prevents him from making a move on her.

Just an Illusion—Unplugged tells Sawyer’s story. Every thought, every feeling, are yours for the taking. Are you ready?

✯✯5 Sawyer Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Holy smokes! Dee Kelly had me hooked lime and sinker from the very first page from the very first book of this incredible series. Since then I’ve been Team Sawyer 110%. But, after reading this my % of how much I’m team Sawyer went up double. I didn’t think that could happen. But, Dee pulled it off.

I’m usually not one for reading a series and picking up the next book that’s told in the POV of somebody else. But, this one was so much better then I ever could’ve imagined. We get the major storyline from Sawyer POV and we also get things we never knew even happened.

We all know that both Sawyer and Noah had both fallen and been played by that evil women Marilyn. But, we get it from Sawyer and my hatred for her escalated higher then I thought possible.

I’m not going to give you a play by play. Even if you read the previous books you might be thinking I’m not missing anything. Well, YOU ARE!! What you’re thinking. I dunno. How about a Sawyer and Belle BFF thing going on. All joking aside their relationship and all their exchanges were my all time FAVORITE parts of this story.

We know Sawyer and Noah are twins and the rest of the band they all see themselves as family. But, you really feel it reading thru Sawyer’s eyes.

Noah. Oh Noah. He’s been under my skin since book one. I always felt he was rushing things with Mel and wanted things his way. Yes, that’s still the same. But, we see a different side to him. The side his brother, his twin, his other half saw him. How he was scared to loose her. How he was scared to loose Sawyer because of him and Mel. Sawyer refused to loose his brother bc of a girl. He needed his brother. But, Sawyer also needed Mel in his life in order to survive. Sawyer would rather have her as a friend if he couldn’t have her the way Noah did, then risk loosing her at all.

Dee wrote this book beautifully. She gave you a full book from Sawyer POV without retelling the entire story over again. No, you got few key pieces again just differently and an entirely new story as well. I’m promising you the wait was so completely worth it!! I know the next parts gunna be more of the harder emotional part. But, I’ll have my tissues on standby and I’m all ready for it!

My stomach is queasy. Between the blood, alcohol consumption, and general stress of the day, I’m wiped. As soon as Dr. Martin leaves, I take the seat next to Mel and hold her hand.
“Hey, Princess, you lucked out tonight. Mac is good at his job, but never in a million years did I imagine we’d need him to take care of something like this. That man deserves a raise, a vacation to a tropical land, a new house, car, whatever he wants. Nothing in the world is more precious than having you and Noah safe and here with us.”
She looks so peaceful; you’d never know she’s been to hell and back tonight. As I look at her, my mind floods with memories from the last few months. It’s crazy to think she’s only been in our lives for four months. I’m pretty sure I fell in love with her the second she called me a dick. Fire flared in her eyes, but her cheeks blushed the perfect shade of pink. My cock was instantly hard. She was the perfect blend of feisty and humble.
Later that night, when she walked into my bathroom, it seemed like the fates had aligned and brought her to me. I was a goner the second her lips crashed against mine. And when she turned me down, fuck … I felt like an addict being denied his high.
That was the beginning of the end for me. I couldn’t shake the way her lips tasted against mine, or how her body heated with my touch. All night long, her sultry moans reverberated through my body. I’d only had a small taste of her, but I wanted more— so much more.
“Noah,” she mutters, still sleeping.
Noah. It all comes back to him. Noah was enraptured by her. That was something new; I’d never seen him like that before. As much as it pained me to do so, I stepped back for him. Little did I know how intense my feelings for her would become and how large of a wedge she was going to drive between the two of us. I thought I’d been doing good the past few weeks. Just like any addiction, I was beating it. Until Sara held that gun to her head. I realized then I’ve been fooling myself. I love her more now than ever before.
“Noah,” she calls out again, a bit more coherent this time. His name on her lips is just the reminder I need to set me straight. It’s like Wyatt said, she made her choice. No matter how much it hurts, she picked him, and I’m going to respect that. I just need to figure out how.
