✯Release Review✯Addiction by Margaret McHeyzer

Title: Addiction
Author: Margaret McHeyzer
Genre: Dark YA/NA
Release Date: July 24, 2018

Blurb

Meth, crank, ice, glass, fire, tina, chalk, crystal or crystal meth.
Whatever you call it, it’s the same thing. Addictive.

Drugs ruin people’s lives.
I should know, they destroyed mine.
I’m Hannah and I got hooked on ice. What started as a trickle, ended with a tsunami washing everything away; my family, my life.
I’m not sure you’re ready to read my story; it’s real and confronting.
Open the book, read the pages and see how easy it is for anyone to get addicted.
Ice affects all types of people. It doesn’t discriminate.
It will SCREW. YOU. UP.

*Dark YA/NA story- Recommended for 16+. Strong drug abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse and emotional conditioning. Contains distressing content. It will cause you anger, frustration and you'll want to hurt some characters.

                                         ✯✯5 Addicting Stars!!! ✯✯

Holy crap!!! Margaret writes her books that can be about something you went thru or somebody you know went thru it. Her stories gut me.  But, this one OMG I wanted to throw my kindle multiple times.

This is Hannah’s story. Hannah’s a 17 yr old with great parents, she’s doing great in school. She’s just looking forward to graduation and going to college.

One night she goes to her friends parents anniversary party. She meets her friends cousin and they hit it off. Hannah agrees to go on a date with him. While on their date Hannah meets Edgar and she gets a feeling she didn’t get with her date.

Edgar starts showing up at Hannah’s house and school.  He’s older then her and a demanding person. Hannah tries to fight him but she just can’t she agrees to go on a date. On that date he slips something to Hannah without her knowing and her life completely spirals from there.

Hannah gets hooked on drugs. She has alienated herself from her parents and friends. She’s doing things that she’s not fully aware that she’s doing. Edgar is so good at manipulating her to get her to do what he wants. She thinks he loves her and that’s why he wants things done certain ways and she does it.

The drugs have messed her so up that she’s hallucinating and things that never happened are playing in her head. She went from sweet to just a nasty person. Bc, she was listening to the drugs. It was both extremely sad and utterly had me pissed off.

This is a good that I want my 16 yr old niece to read bc this could easily happen to her. I know whenever Margaret releases a new book I’m in for an emotional ride and Hannah’s story was no different. You can tell Margaret does her homework before she writes a book. Bc, man she hit Hannah on the head with everything! And, as much as I hated Edgar. There are people like him in the world and that’s scary to think about. This is a must read story but be prepared.

NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER OF UGLY AND MISTRUST

**Write something worth reading**

I'm Margaret and I'm a self-published author.

Recently I was fortunate in obtaining New York Times best selling status on my YA/NA book - Ugly, and my YA book - Mistrust.

My last three books have been YA and I'm completely in love with the genre. I love being able to communicate with people through my words and stories.

My writing genres all differ, but the one thing I keep consistent is my heroines. All my female lead characters are strong, gutsy and not the 'perfect' woman. While my books all have romantic elements in them, they aren't just about the romance. They're about finding strength, acceptance and making life long connections.

I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I have while writing them.

✯Review✯The Sins That Bind Us by Geneva Lee

Synopsis

I wasn’t given a choice. Not when I did my first line of cocaine. Not when I became a single mother. But I changed, and every decision I’ve made was to protect myself and my son from my weaknesses—and my past.

Until Jude came along and made me question everything, even my own secrets.

The sins I carry with me can never be discovered. Life handed me broken bits of people and left me to construct my own world, and it’s too fragile to take a chance on Jude Mercer.

We write our own stories.
We build our own prisons.
We weave our own lies.
We commit the sins that bind us.

 ✯✯5 Forgiving Stars!!!✯✯

I had been dying to read this the minute I read the synopsis. I must say I liked it better then I originally thought I was going too. This book is all about family, friendships, addiction and loss. It was my favorite by Geneva Lee so far.

Faith lives a very low key life. It revolves around working with her best friend and roommate Amie. Her 4yr old son Max who is deaf and her weekly Narcotics Anonymous meetings. That has been Faith's life for years since she moved there. She was perfectly OK with her routine and with the people in her life. That was until Jude walked into her NA meeting one night.

Faith instantly hates Jude. But, he also makes her curious. Faith is curious about Jude. Nothing but bad news radiates off Jude. He's a mystery to her and she doesn't know why.

Jude ends up working his way into Faith and Max's life. Jude is always popping up help fix things around the house or to hang out with Max. Faith is not sure what she wants to do about Jude. Even though he's the first guy to effect her in such a long time. All Faith keeps seeing is she met him in at a NA meeting. Faith refuses to put her sobriety at risk for herself and Max for anyone. Even if everything about Jude screams yes. Until both their pasts comes out and Faith realizes maybe them meeting wasn't by accident. Faith must figure out if she should take max and run or stay and prepare for a fight.

I legit couldn't put this down. There was more then one story going on in this book. There's the present time and the past. The one with Faith and her twin sister Grace. At first I was confused when it flipped back and forth. But, I loved seeing where everything started for Faith and why choices were made. Even though there was one huge choice I didn't agree with. I guess she thought there was no other choice and that's sad. I'm also glad the romance in this book didn't go fast. Faith knew what she could and couldn't handle and Jude respected it.

Geneva did an excellent job at reminding you that people can be addicted to more then just alcohol and drugs. That there's so much more to it then what everybody knows. I really did love this book.

✯Release Review✯Indigo Nights by Louise Bay

Indigo Rel banner
Title: Indigo Nights
Author: Louise Bay
Genre: Contemporary/ Erotic Romance
Release Date: February 9, 2016

Synopsis
The only thing better than cake is cake with a side of orgasms. Dylan James has no expectations when it comes to relationships. He uses women for sex and they use him for his money and power. It’s quid pro quo and he's good with that. It works. Beth Harrison has been burned. She's tired of the lies and the game playing that men bring and has buried herself in her passion—baking which keeps her out of the reach of heartbreak. As she begins her career as a TV baker, a new world opens up to her. Dylan and Beth both know that casual sex is all about giving what you need to get what you want. Except that sometimes you give more than you need to and get everything you ever wanted.

 ✯✯5 Beautiful Stars!!!✯✯

Yayy!! I been dying for Beth Harrison's story since I was introduced to her brother Jake in What The Lightning Sees series and then again in the Calling Me series. I loved her from the beginning. We learned about her through her brother's eyes and then from her new friend's POV. But, you don't know her until you get inside her mind and heart.

Beth Harris has been sober for 4 yrs. It hasn't been an easy time for her. Beth has struggled everyday with her sobriety. Her brother Jake has been there and is the only person she's let in 100% with her sobriety.

Beth has started baking as  a way to help her with her sobriety. It helps that she loves cake. Like me she can eat a whole cake at one time lol. She started her own YouTube channel and she ended up getting a huge fan base. Now, Beth finds herself on a flight to her hometown to Chicago. She could get a deal to get a TV show with her baking. Now, she's on the plane and everyone's talking about Mr. 8A. Beth was curious about him. But, was totally unprepared for him. See, Beth hasn't had sex since she became sober 4 yrs ago. But, one look at Mr. 8A and she's feeling things she hasn't in a long time. Then, their flight gets cancelled and he propositions her to a one night stand.

Dylan James is a very successful business man. He lives in Chicago but is working on a new investment in London. He was engaged years ago. His fiance left him for an older wealthier man. But, she left him too soon. Now, he's extremely wealthy. But, he doesn't do love or relationships. Dylan does one night stands. When he saw the gorgeous girl in the seat next to him he wanted her. But, he wasn't prepared for her. When Beth came right out and told him she was an addict and sober he knew she was special.

These 2 have such a connection. Beth was always so open and real with her fight to get and stay sober. Dylan always put her feelings first. Dylan understood her family always came first. She was still trying to figure out this whole new baking show out. Dylan found himself falling for Beth. Which was something  he never wanted after his ex. Dylan always made sure to never upset her or push her to do something that made Beth uncomfortable.

This definitely my favorite book by Louise Bay! Jake, Haven, Ash and Luke were all back in this book.  We still got to be included in their Sunday night dinners.  Beth, Haven and Ash still made me laugh so hard at times. But, I really loved how Louise handled Beth's sobriety. She made Beth so strong and made sure she stuck with sobriety. I loved how she didn't write it where it was as easy as pie. But, let you see that Beth did struggle with it and everyday. I was glad she did it that way. And, Dylan. A real man will stand by the one he loves and not push them to do something she's not willing to do. Dylan always put Beth first. Even when she didn't want to see him. He had his way of letting her know he was there and waiting for when she's ready. Dylan and Beth are my #1 favorite  couple of 2016! I honestly don't see that changing. I can't wait to see what Louise writes next.

Excerpt
Dylan “I understood the dynamic between men and women. I got to sleep with hot women, and in exchange they got to fuck a rich guy in the hope that they’d become beneficiaries of my cash. I might be handsome, but I knew from bitter experience that if a richer guy came along, I’d be left in the taillights of the women I slept with. It just happened that now, there weren’t many richer men, which gave me a certain satisfaction. I’d made peace with the transactional nature of relationships between men and women and had no expectations. At some point in my past I’d thought that love was possible. Not anymore. It was all about giving to get.”

About The Author
louise
USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful and Hopeful and the novella series’ The Empire State Series, What the Lightning Sees and Calling Me. The novels and together each series are stand-alone although there are some overlapping characters. Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films. Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne. Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance

Book Blurb

"Some boys will keep it, some will break it, and some boys, they just won't want it. You gotta be careful who you give your heart to..." Slate Declan

First loves, we all got them. Mine is Slate Declan. He was kind, gentle, and caring. Still, he managed to break my heart. So I put miles between us, and eventually, my heart healed.

I haven’t seen Slate in years, but a couple friends and I are going back to the Bayou for the summer. While I’m visiting my hometown, I’m going to look up Slate Declan. And I plan to break his heart, just as he did mine. I'll remind him of what he has lost, and then I'll prove to him that I’ve moved on.

It should be real easy, right?

Well, let me tell you, Slate Declan is not the same guy that I left behind. And there’s another problem. How do you break someone’s heart when they no longer have one?

 ✯✯5 Heart Breaking Stars!!✯✯

This is the 2nd book in the Breaking The Declan Brothers series.  And, as much as I fell in love with Jax and Emmie they had nothing on Slate and Rayna. Slate is a second chance romance  but with so much more. This is the second book by Kelly Gendron that I have read and just like when I read Jax I had wished it was longer. Slate is no different. I started and finished it in one afternoon. I was left with not feeling like I was missing anything but still wished it was longer.

Rayna had met Slate when him and his 2 brothers moved to the bayou after their parents passed away. Slate was very quiet at the time. Even at their young age Rayna loved the color of his eyes. Their friendship started after Rayna was bullied over the class stuffed monkey animal. Slate came to her rescue. Early on their nicknames "Superman" and "Monkey" came.

They were always such friends until their friendship turned more serious. Slate and Rayna were their first everything. When the end of their senior year comes Rayna got an awesome offer that would really benefit her for her future. Slate knew she'd turn it down for him. Slate also knows he could never go with her because he'd never leave his brothers Jax and Zeke. When Rayna walks in and thinks Slate had cheated on her he lets her think it. Slate doesn't want her giving up her dreams for him.

They have not seen each other since Rayna left the bayou. But, now Rayna and her 2 friends are back staying at her sisters place. Rayna is on a mission. To get Slate to fall for her again for her to turn around and break him the way she broke him. But, the Slate she sees is not the man he was years ago.

Rayna knew Slate's grandma's store burned down a few years prior. There was things she didn't know. Slate was trapped in the burning building and a lot of his body was burned very bad in the process. Slate had spent months in a rehab getting his bandages changed and clean. The pain was so bad he ended up getting very addicted to the pain medication. When he got out and the pain meds stopped working Slate took to street meds and has spent the last few years fighting and doing drugs.

Both Jax and Zeke have tried to help him get clean and it's failed every time. Whenever Slate is doing drugs and starts to hallucinate that his monkey is there. It never fails she is always there.

Rayna comes up with a plan to help Slate. She gets Jax and Zeke to agree with it. When Slate wakes up and realizes that his monkey is very much real and not in his dreams he's livid. Rayna wants Slate to give her 3 days. They're to stay in the basement apartment for 3 days let Slate detox and she'll walk outta his life. That's it.Slate can not believe what is happening. He's been through detox and he's so afraid of hurting her. He'd never forgive himself. Slate has little choice but to agree.

What I really loved about this book other then the multiple POV. We'd go from the present then bounce back to Rayna and Slate past. It really let you see how they were with each other. How they truly loved and cherished their friendship then relationship. They were there for each other at their lowest and highest parts of their lives.Even now. They haven't seen each other in years yet they were still in love with the other one. Even though at the moment they'd never admit it.

Rayna is trying her hardest to stick to her plan. She wants to save Slate before it's too late. But, she must keep telling herself stay on track and to break him. After the 3 days are up she needs to walk out and not look back. Slate will not let Rayna go this time. He loves her and won't let her walk out for a second tine.

These 2 were hot!! Slate was very dominating and sexy yet when it came to his monkey he was caring and sweet.I loved how when Slate could see and think straight he was disgusted by his mactions when he wasn';t clean. Slate did a lot of redeeming himself. I can't tell you how many times I'd end up crying while reading this. To laughing the next. Rayna and Slate are perfect together!! Zeke is next and I'm dying to see him get broken. Even though both Jax and Slate have seemed to be ones to do the breaking ;)
