Bossing the Cowboy is now available on all retailers!
After surviving a messy divorce and custody battle, Dr. Connor Wallen quickly became married to his job. Helping animals is the perfect distraction from his crazy ex, but he finds it difficult to concentrate when an attractive woman joins his veterinary clinic. Getting involved with someone who works for him would only lead to disaster, so staying professional is key.
He tries to ignore her, but their chemistry is undeniable.
Elizabeth Bishop can’t stand her boss or how he treats her, but there aren’t many job options in small-town Texas. No matter what she does, it’s never good enough for Connor, but she continues trying to impress him anyway.
She’ll never admit she’s attracted to him and denies it every chance she gets.
Avoiding him is impossible, but Elle keeps her distance whenever possible. After his walls start to crumble, she knows her feelings aren’t one-sided. She’s tired of playing his games and is ready to prove who’s really in control.
Although he pushes her away, she’s determined to pull him closer—showing him exactly what they’ve both been missing.
**Bossing the Cowboy is a complete stand-alone and can be read without reading any of the other books or spin-off series, but if you prefer to read in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.**
✯✯5 Connor & Elle Filled Stars!!!✯✯
Finally!!! I’ve been waiting for Elle and Connor’s story since Hitching The Cowboy. Every book in the Circle B Ranch Series you see a little bit more of them. Every time they popped up I wanted their story more.
Connor Wallen is going thru a divorce and has gotten his vet clinic off and going. I’d that wasn’t hard enough but one night he comes home to find out his soon to-be-ex has packed up their daughter’s stuff and moved them 4hrs away.
The only reason why Connor agreed to talking to Elizabeth AKA Elle Bishop about an intern position was Bc of her Grandma Rose. The min Connor see’s Elle he knows he should send her on her way. She’s def bad news for him. He’s already dealing with a messy divorce, custody and Elle makes him loose his breathe with one look. He’s 8yrs older than her and can’t risk doing something stupid. Connor hires her but decides to keep thing’s 100% professional and at arm’s length.
Elle Bishop has always wanted to be a veterinarian. She was excited when Connor took her on and taught her. She’s learned so much from him. Elle’s not blind she can see how gorgeous he is but 99.999% of the time he’s a complete tool to her. She’s not sure why but she just goes with the flow.
This book has duel POV and we go from their first meeting in the prologue. Kennedy Fox does an amazing job at writing what’s going on and then the next chapter or paragraph the time jump’s till we’re at the end of Wrangling The Cowboy where Elle learns Connor has a daughter.
When Connor starts letting Elle into the parts of him that he’s kept to himself thing’s definitely take a turn. They’ve been so attracted to each other but kept it to themselves. Now that everything’s out there it’s either they’re in or out Bc neither one wanna play games. Needless to say they’re both in and not looking back.
I’ve been rooting for Connor and Elle for so long. Thing’s definitely weren’t easy for them. But, it was worth the wait. This two are perfect together!!
It’s always nice seeing the rest of the Bishop family. Sometimes depending on the time frame you might be at a party or girl’s night that we’ve been to before but you’re getting a different POV. I love it!!
Now, I’m all ready for Ethan and Harper!! I’m hoping Ethan doesn’t get his heart broken and loose his best friend and his crush in an instant.

I may have carried her out of that fire, but the truth was, Bree saved me.
From The Embers, an all-new not-to-be-missed, standalone catastrophic romance from USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez is available now!
In the aftermath of tragedy, it’s strange the things you remember. The deafening boom as the house exploded. The paralyzing fear as I searched for my wife. The blinding smoke burning my eyes as I carried her out.
But carved into my soul for the rest of my days would be the earth-shattering realization that the woman in my arms wasn’t my wife.
Bree and I were the only survivors—not that either of us were truly living after that night. As a single dad with nowhere else to go, I moved into her guest house. And somehow, through the guilt and grief, we forged an unlikely team.
It took years, but I watched the gradual return of her smile—slow and life-altering. The two of us could sit outside for hours, talking about nothing, and it filled the massive hole in my chest with new life.
I may have carried her out of that fire, but the truth was, Bree saved me.
As we healed, the secrets and lies of the past smoldered in the ashes, threatening to ignite again.
Our love was born from the embers, and together we would go up in flames.

I read this book in one afternoon/evening. I’m a huge Aly Martinez fan. Ever since book one. I don’t have to ran a blurb for it to go on my TBR list.
This book was no different!! It has every emotion I had. I’m so glad Aly wrote this. She made me go from not liking Bree to liking her a lot. I always like Eason. In the beginning I knew he was a good but didn’t have it easy. I was glad he had Rob in his corner. But, man Aly has a way of making character’s go from a favorite to not one from not fav to favorite. I’m excited to read her next release.
Using my arm to block my face, I carried her lifeless body to the door. The knob seared my palm as I yanked it open, but the pain didn’t even register through the adrenaline. The sound of my feet pounding down the driveway echoed in my ears as the fire crackled behind me. Our closest neighbor was over half a mile away, but there was no way they hadn’t heard the explosion. The fire department would be there soon. Once I got Jessica safe, I’d go back for Bree. They’d find Rob. Everyone would be okay. “Eason,” she croaked in my arms. My feet were still moving as I sprinted away, but time stopped as her voice permeated my senses. It wasn’t possible. She was covered in soot, and my eyes were caked with ash and what I would later learn to be blood, but I could still make out the large flowers on her yellow— “Uh, no. It’s my dress that your wife borrowed and I had to do an entire Tom Cruise Mission Impossible thing to get it back last week.” Oh, God. I kept running until the wind changed direction, clearing the smoke. With my heart in my throat, I prayed that my still ringing ears had deceived me. I set her down and used the inside of my shirt to clear my face. “Eason,” she croaked. But once again, she wasn’t my wife. “Oh, God,” I breathed, watching as she rose on unsteady legs. Tears carved twin riverbeds through the ash on her cheeks. “What happened?” Bree asked, her green eyes focused on the blazing inferno behind me. Acrid guilt devoured me. “I…” I saved the wrong woman. I left the mother of my child in a burning building. My final broken promise to the woman I’d vowed forever to was, “I’ll be right back.” Bile crawled up my throat. “I don’t know.” I glanced back at the house, the heat of the roaring fire scorching me even from yards away. Overwhelming grief hit me as I realized there was no way I could get back through those flames. Oh, God. Jessica. In the middle of tragedy, it’s strange the things that become engrained into your memories. Years later, I wouldn’t be able to tell you how long it took the firetrucks to get there. I couldn’t tell you what time it was or what I had been wearing. But I would never be able to forget the absolute devastation on Bree’s face when she realized we were the only two standing outside the burning house. “Where’s Rob?” she rasped, her voice sounding like it had traveled over a mile of gravel before exiting her throat. “And Jessica. Where are they?” She took an urgent stride toward me. “I tried…” I doubled over into a fit of coughing. It was probably for the best. There was no way I could have finished that thought.
About Aly Martinez
Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her husband and four young children. Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and olives. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person. She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
I should have given him the truth. Anything but the silence lurking inside my mouth making me mute.
Just as I pulled the band away from his body his grip crushed my small hands so hard I felt myself wince. “We aren’t doing that here… I don’t need your pity,” his words might as well have been venom.
It was well-deserved, my body screamed: use me to bury the pain and my eyes were glazed over in sympathy.
“Bowen…” I was trying to slice through the immediate anger cocooning him when his grip didn’t let up, holding my hands still too tightly.
He looked down on me like I personally insulted him in less redeemable ways. “It doesn’t matter how damaged you are when you look at me like that. It would have been easier to just sit pretty and be the wife I don’t want. No demons except me. Now there is nothing holding me back from making sure that fake halo is replaced with horns.”
Standing up right instead of looking down at me like a silly girl who couldn’t handle his demons, his fists clenched making the wraps get even more taunt around his hands.
My mouth was still gaping open but no syllables or sounds came out. Not one word while I watched him square up to the bag hanging in its place. “You always wanted to match.”
My eyes stung with tears and I felt myself suck in my bottom lip like it was the key to holding back tears.
Hitting a small remote in his pocket music flooded his home gym, too loud to think or talk anymore.
Bowen’s fist drove into the bag over and over making me flinch every time. I pushed him to be someone to me and didn’t take into account how askewed how my expectations were.
My expectations were soul crushing.
My expectations were selfish.
My expectations disregarded trauma altogether.
I mumbled a quick sorry around my trembling bottom lip hoping that would suffice.
Few steps forward and ten back seemed to be the dance with the devil. He promised to fuck my halo into horns and now I felt overwhelmed by the need to be just as broken as him.
Elena Monroe grew up in Florida scribbling down stories from a very young age. These stories were really just wavy lines filling the paper, but she knew each word, each emotion, each character's name, and there was no tricking her into forgetting what each line signified. Just like her unconventional way of writing as a toddler Elena is setting her own rules and just telling stories.
Much like her debut novel, The Best Years, life certainly imitated art. Transplanting from the South to the East Coast, Elena currently lives in Connecticut with husband, reformed bad boy.
