New Years is the time for new beginnings. I thought I’d gotten that when I visited Texas over Thanksgiving. Then again, very little has changed. I’m still a librarian living in the same house. My daughters are growing up fast. Sure, I’ve acquired a new best friend who’s convinced me it’s time to give dating a fair shot. Which isn’t exactly easy when I’m pregnant with an Asshole’s baby. Does that complicate matters? Sorta. But there’s nothing left for me to do except move on. The jagged edges of my shattered heart have been polished. Questions answered, and blank holes from my past plugged. Now I’m ready to take the plunge into uncharted waters, to build a happier life… until a bomb comes along and tests my strength like never before. Nobody fucks with my family and gets away with it. Not even you.
Warning: Proceed with caution. Contains adult sexual content, the excessive use of the F bomb, violence, and whatever else that makes it unsuitable for anyone under the age of 18.
Not a stand-alone, 2nd book in a Trilogy.
Must read Hopelessly Shattered previously.
✯✯5 Hopeful Stars!!!✯✯
Yes, finally!! When I finished Hopelessly Shattered I was biting my nails until I got this book. This series is a trilogy and not standalone. It's stated in the blurbs!!
Kat is home from Texas and working while raising her 2 daughters and pregnant with her 3rd. She's trying to move past her hemorrhoid ex- Ryker. Her best friend the hottie Kade keeps her entertained all the time. Everything is just fine, until there's a threat on the club.
Ryker and Kade as well as the rest of the MC club will do everything to keep Kat and the girls safe. Ryker might've unfortunately married Vanessa. But, Kat is his Old Lady. He makes the decision to move his girls to Texas to keep them safe. Kat's not happy about it, but to keep their family safe she does it.
They get into a regular routine. Ryker is there in the morning for breakfast and to bring his girls to school. The girls know who their grandfathers and Uncle Kade are.Kat is trying not to get too attached to Ryker. He doesn't belong to her, no matter what he or her heart tells her. She just keeps telling herself being in Texas is temporary.
Ryker will do anything to keep his girls safe. He knows he messed up with Vanessa. He knows how close Kat and Kade are and he knows if he cant be there to protect them then his brother will. Ryker knows what he must do to fix things. He only talks things over with his dad, the president of his charter and Big, the president of the founding charter of the Sacred Sinners MC.
I read this in two sittings. I love Bink's writing style. She writes like she's talking to you. Kat is an extremely strong woman, who'll do anything to protect her children and make them smile. Ryker, man as much as I want to hate him. I can't. He makes is so so hard. Kade.. I want, no need my very own Kade. He really is the perfect best friend. Even though I'm all for more than friends lol. Let's not forget Big. He continues to prove over and over again why he's the perfect man to be in charge.
This cliffhanger was crazy. I hope Bink is writing fast. I need Kat and Ryker to get a HEA. I am in need of Kade's story!!
