Yes!! I been waiting for Drew and Courtney's story since the very 2 Checkmate books. That story follows their best friends and Drew's sister Viola and Travis. Sen though this is Drew and Courtney's story I'd still read the previous 2 books. You'll understand Courtney, Viola and Travis's hatred for somebody I'll name farther down.
Courtney has been in love with Drew since the minute she layed eyes on him. But, he's parked her in the friend zone. Now, her and Drew are best friends and roommates. Its very hard looking at him half naked everyday. They hang out everyday they can when Drew's not working long shifts or with the evil Mia. She's not afraid to tell Drew everyday how evil and vile she is and that she's playing him BC he allows it. Courtney hates being friend zoned. But, stay there BC she doesn't a life without Drew.
Drew knows Courtney has a crush on him. But, she's his best friend. Everything about their friendship is easy. He's been dating Mia Montgomery for years. That relationship is definitely easy. But, he loves her. After Mia gives Drew an ultimatum he finally sees her for who she really is. When he realizes he's not even sad that she's gone he's ready to move on. When his sister and best friend get married things change. He kisses his best friend.
When Drew kisses Courtney everything changes. His eyes and heart open wide. Drew realizes the perfect woman has been sitting in front of him for years and he's been blind this whole time. Drew and Courtney decide to give into their feelings. Their feelings are mutual. Drew has never been this happy and never this easy. But, Drew can't get too comfortable BC he can't seem to keep his past where it belongs... In the past.
This was such a great read. It was your friends to lovers read. I felt at times it was too fast paced. I didn't like how Drew went from Mia straight to Courtney in an instant. Those never end pretty. But, I loved Drew and Courtney in the first 2 books. And, this book did not disappoint. Book 2 better hurry up!!
