Zachary known as Zee to his friends and family, stepped up as Sunder's drummer after his brother Mark died. His brother was his best friend. Zee hasn't been the same person since he lost his brother. He's never forgiven himself and has been keeping SO many secrets that he is lucky he can keep them straight, let alone remember them. All the secrecy is killing him slowly. Alexis loves her sisters so much. She'll do anything to protect them. Even if they put her in danger. Then, Zee showed up one night. The night she was in danger and in need of protection and he became her knight in shining armor. She named him her "little drummer boy" and she was his "sunshine". Alexis starts showing Zee how life could be if he just opened up to it. Alexis knows he's afraid just doesn't know why. They both understand how the other feels about the others bro/sis. They'd both do anything for them.
This book absolutely gutted me. Gutted me! The last book in this series that really truly gutted me was Drowning To Breathe the Baz connected the dots and let go of the green monkey. Yes, it was that kind of ugly cry. Getting flashback of Mark and Zee. Learning their highs and lows made me smile and then cry that ugly cry. AL Jackson is a genius. I'm so glad I got to read his beautiful series. Every book there was somebody saving the other. They were coming alive. It is in my top 10 favorite series! I am so upset and devastated this series is over and yet excited to see what she's writing next.
