When I was nineteen years old, I was faced with a choice that changed my life.
Keep the safety of what I already knew or risk losing everything with the young, hotheaded soldier who stole my heart.
I chose the wrong man, and for seventeen years, I paid in tears, blood, and shattered dreams for that decision.
Now, there’s a man in my house, holding a gun to my head on the order of my ex-husband—given from his prison cell.
That hotheaded soldier I was too afraid to choose? He’s now a six-foot-three wall of muscle who works at the country’s most premier bodyguard agency. I’ve always wanted him, but now, I’ve never needed him more.
It’s the call I’m terrified to make.
I’m sure he still hates me… Even though I’ve never stopped loving him.
✯✯5 Thriving Stars!!!✯✯
Aly Martinez continues to prove over and over again why she’s on my auto buy list. Every book makes me forget about everything. I’ve been waiting for more of these guardians and the wait was totally totally worth it!
Jeremy Lark was totally completely madly in love with Mira York. They spent their nights in the back of his pickup wrapped in each other and talking. They told each other everything. All their hopes and dreams wants and desires. Everything was perfect. Except that Jeremy’s best friend Kurt was Mira boyfriend. He was a poor excuse for a boyfriend and friend. When Kurt found out about them, he set up Jeremy and got him kicked out of the Army. When he leaves he begs Mira to come with him and instead she chose Kurt.
Jeremy ends up getting a job at the Guardian Protection Agency and it made him feel whole again. He did get married and had beautiful twin daughters. But, his heart belonged to Mira and he eventually got divorced. He has a civil divorce. Him and his ex do what’s best for their children. Jeremy hasn’t seen/heard from Mira or Kurt in seventeen years. Then, he gets a call and it’s her on the other line and she’s begging for help. It’s a matter of life or death.
The minute Jeremy left in his truck Mira knew she made the wrong choice. But, she stayed anyway. Mira just went along with Kurt. But, when things turned back and he ended up in prison she knew it was her turn. She’s been on her own and divorced for three years and things are finally starting to look up. Until Kurt’s ex-business partners show up at her apartment. They want what Kurt took from them and they’ll take her best friend and dog and leave the scary guy with a gun until they get it. Mira does the only thing she can think of. Call the one person she knows that’ll help her. The only person whose ever owned her heart. Jeremy Lark.
Holy moly!!! This was an awesome book. Talk about a second chance romance. These two were so in love and so perfect for each other that they were half living without the other one. Together they’re fierce and strong. Jeremy is an alpha male all around. But, when he’s talking about or to his daughters omg he’ll melt your heart and wet your panties. Mira I wanted to hate for not choosing Jeremy first. But, we’ve all made dumb decisions and regretted it and then fixed it. She did that and more. I can’t wait for the next Guardian in this series.

Author Bio
Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children.
Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person.
She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
