Death (Book 5 of The Devil's Roses) by Tara Brown

Synopsis from Goodreads:

The Final Rose

Sadness looms over the old mansion at the end of the road where the massive oaks and willows line the street.
With no one recovering from the losses they have experienced and D-Day creeping up on them, Ari decides to make a final push. Only this time she has a little help from O. Between the strongest magic in the world and the control Ari has learned, they hope they will be able to manipulate the time change and make everything better with a single push.
There is one thing they don't account for, Angels. Angels and the gifts they bestow upon us change us. Sometimes permanently.

Don't Miss The Finale

Stefanie's Review

3.5-4 Stars

Let me start off saying Tara Brown did it again!! Death starts off exactly where Witch ended. The Roses are all preparing to find Jonathan and Lillith. Their plan is to kill Jonathan. Then have Ophelia kill her mother Lillith and twin brother Tristan. Once that's done she can take their powers as well as her ghost sisters. Then, there will be no more dark magic. That sounds easy enough. But, we're talking about The Roses. Nothing is as simple as it should be.

After Ari does what she does best. We've gone back 2yrs. Now you know what that means... Characters who we thought died are alive. A lot of people's memories are wiped clean. Hanna and Ophelia haven't even become The Beast or The Witch of all Witches yet. Aimee and Giselle are still normal teenagers, not The Death Dealer or Queen Vampire turned Succumbs.  We get to see that all over again. But, of course Tara Brown makes it interesting and switches it up. Even though Hanna, O, Aimee and Giselle haven't turned yet. Once they see everybody all their memories come back.

Now that The Roses have become whole again. They have their plan  set to get rid of Jonathan and Lillith, and all the dark magic. But, of course Jonathan is one step ahead of them. Plus, he has his own back-up. His back up ends up having  Aimee and Ophelia make life changing choices.  Choices that can change things drastically. People's lives will change. Every time they turn around they're getting backed stabbed. It's kind of hard to figure out who's on their side and who's playing them.

After they go thru battle they go back to Marcus's house. Now they have to figure out what is next. Aimee has to figure out what's next. And figure out who to save and who should die.

Then Lorrie does something that changes EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY!!!

I could give so much more away. But, I'm not going to. I really wanted to give this book 5 stars. The reason I didn't was because whenever the time went backwards I felt like I was re-reading the previous books. And, the fact that it was supposed to be the last book in the series. Well, it's not.... We have to wait for The Redeemers coming soon. I was very upset. I been waiting for closure. And, still haven't  gotten it.  But, other then that I loved the story.

" Ophelia, dark magic pulls the darkness into you. Every piece you take in kills off some of the light"

"Death dealer, you must suck from her as we fill her up. Take her poison."

She nods, "I have. They are called redeemers. They can redeem a soul and send it back to heaven. For every soul they save, the balance will tip slightly in the favor of the light"
