BLOG TOUR for Forget Me Not by Sarah Daltry

Synopsis from goodreads:

Lily had a crush on her brother's best friend, Derek for years - which led to their steamy night ten months ago in her bedroom. Now, Lily is going off to college and she and Derek are still going strong. However, when school starts, she realizes it's hard to maintain a relationship while also trying to live her own life. She and Derek find themselves falling apart and Lily has no idea where to turn.

Enter Jack. Everything about him is wrong for Lily and she knows it, but she can't stop herself from being attracted to him. When things implode with Derek, it's Jack who is there to pick up the pieces - and show Lily an entirely new set of experiences she didn't know she was missing.

Of course, Jack has his own problems and once Lily gets to know him better, she starts to wonder if she can handle all of Jack. When Derek reappears on the scene, Lily is forced to decide between two guys and herself. Can she find herself without losing the people who matter in the process?

Note: This is a work intended for readers 18+ as it features explicit sex between people in college. See where it began in the short story, "Her Brother's Best Friend."

Ariana's review:
3.5 - 4 Stars

This was definitely a fun read, and I was able to fly through it pretty quickly. I Really loved the story line, and I felt the writing flowed very well. If I was giving my rating solely on that, it would get a 4.5 star rating. However, there were a couple things that I didn't particularly care for (which are just my personal feelings...others may not mind them at all) which caused me to only give it 3.5 - 4 stars instead. Let me explain those first, and then I will get into the good. The first reason was that I found Lily (the lead female) to be quite annoying at least in the first half of the book. She was very whiny and clingy and I felt like I wasn't able to connect with her as much as I would have liked. As you got further into the story that becomes less and less and she seems to come into herself more which helped me to begin to appreciate her more. I did like her character, there were just certain things that she would say or do that struck a nerve for me. She used the word c*nt quite frequently which I honestly did not care for. If it had been used once of twice in the story I wouldn't have minded, but I felt like it was popping up every couple of pages and was overused. Now, don't get me wrong... I LOVE reading sexy, dirty, raunchy sex scenes (which this book had plenty of!) but the frequency in which this word was throw in there just wasn't doing it for me.

Now, with that being said, I felt overall the book was well written and that it had a good flow. The story kept my attention which is a major plus, and at no time during my reading it did I feel like I was forcing myself to push forward just to get to the next page. The sex was HOT, although there were a couple times where I was thinking to myself "there is no possible way she was able to have so many orgasms during one round of sex lol. For a girl who had only ever been with one man sexually when the story started, she really knew how to get down and dirty. And HOLY HELL can you say incredibly sexy 3-way?!?! Just thinking about that scene makes me feel the need to go take an ice cold shower!

Lily is beginning her freshman year of college. Her boyfriend, Derek, is in his second year and goes to a different school than her. She figured it would be good to be on her own and not be tied down to a place simply because she was dependent on a man. But as school gets on its way, and he becomes busier and busier with rugby and his friends, she begins to feel very alone. Their plans to see each other every weekend quickly start to fall apart, and she begins to see just how dependent on Derek she has become. She spends the majority of her time moping and waiting for a call from him, but many times it doesn't come, and she begins to become bitter. Once she meets Jack, she begins to question everything she thought she wanted from life and for her future. Arrogant and cocky, Jake is the complete opposite of Derek... but then why can't Lily stop thinking about him? She knows he is damaged, but when she finally finds out just how damaged he really is, will she be able to work past it? Or will she turn her back on him just like everyone else in his life had? One thing is for sure, there is no denying the incredible chemistry between Lily and both of these men.

"If I could be the kind of guy that gets to be with a girl like you, I would be. I would give everything to be that kind of guy."

When Jake introduces Lily to a world of passion she didn't even know existed, everything in her life becomes more complicated. Will the love she once had for Derek be strong enough to bring them back to how they once were, or will Lily realize that everything she always dreamed about is no longer enough for her? Will she chose Love, or Passion... or somehow find both?

"Lily, I have loved you for years. There was nothing complicated about it, because loving you is easy."

Overall, I felt this was a good read, and would definitely recommend it to others. I look forward to reading more work by Sarah Daltry.
