SYNOPSIS –
Sadie Miller is attempting to
change her ways and hide somewhere no one knows her former self. She only wants
to finish her final year of college, obtain her degree, and get out from the
hold of her affluent parents. Then she meets Brady Carsen, the lead singer of
The Invisibles, a local band popular with the college crowd. She tries to stay
away but quickly realizes that, although he might not be what she’s used to,
he’s exactly what she needs and more importantly, everything she could possibly
want.
Unfortunately, Sadie’s troubled
past left her with insecurities that make her question Brady’s true intentions.
And while Brady is convinced that Sadie is the one for him, he has his own
secrets that he fears will be their undoing. If they want to be together, they
will have to stand united and fight the outside influences that are threatening
to tear them apart. Can they put their pasts behind them for good in order to
secure their future?

“I need you to trust me.” He grabs
my hand, placing it in his lap. “I can’t tell you where I was Friday night, at
least not yet. But believe me Sadie, I wasn’t with anyone else. You’re the only
girl who consumes my thoughts, my dreams, and my mind. Please trust me when I
say there is no one else,” his voice is desperate, saturating his soft brown
eyes.
A big part of me believes him. My
thoughts go to Jessa and how she now trusts guys again after what her
ex-boyfriend did to her. I need to move on with my life; it’s been over a year
and I still harbor all of the hurt and remorse. If I don’t start living my
life, it is going to pass me by. Brady’s right, I never gave him a fair shot.
“I believe you,” I whisper, still
unsure of my decision to give this a chance.
“Thank you, Sadie.” He releases
the deepest breath in relief. “Now I have one more favor.” He peers over at me,
continuing to hold my hand.
“What, Carsen?”
“Go on a date with me. A real
date, just you and me from beginning to end,” he asks, squeezing my hand.
I close my eyes, willing myself to
allow me to have this. Give myself the possibility to have happiness and accept
the consequences. “Yes,” I answer him.

“So, this is where the magic
happens with you guys?” I ask.
“I wouldn’t say that.” He wraps
his arms around my waist, kissing my neck. “I could show you some magic if you
prefer.” He brushes my hair to the side, moving his lips down my shoulder and
back up to my neck.
I close my eyes. His warm breath
feels incredible. I can’t let this lead to something more so I pull away,
making my way over to the switchboard. “What does this do?” I fiddle with a
button.
He comes up behind me and kisses
my neck again. “Do you really want to know?” he whispers while his tongue
flicks my earlobe. I close my eyes in pleasure again, willing my heart to calm
down.
“Brady,” I sigh.
“Come here.” He grabs my hand and
leads me to the couch. He positions me on his lap and rests his hands around my
waist, bringing me closer to him. “I just want to kiss you, Sadie. I will never
rush you,” he promises.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR –
Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has
become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for
Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis.
Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which
often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from
the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does
agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten
her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads,
he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)
Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring
from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten
years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a
love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion
to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote
one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she
isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to
her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after
chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation
time after putting the kids to bed.

Let me start with I fell in love with this story from it's cover & synopsis. I just knew I HAD to read it. And, 5 stars is not even close to what it deserves!!
We start off with Sadie running from her past. Granted, we don't know what her past is. But, it's not what you'll think it is. Sadie ends up getting dragged to a frat party in a house/bar with her roommate Jessa. After Jessa starts sucking face with some guy, she decides to leave. On her way out she get bumped & falls into the are of Brady Carsen!! Oh Brady you hot, sexy, hunk of a man you!!! He's so polite, caring and sweet straight from the beginning. Brady talks her into staying while his band plays. Yes!!! He's the lead singer in his band. When old feelings start to pop up inside of her, she decides to dip out before he notices.
Just as Sadie thought she was free and clear of Brady. She goes home to her dorm where a letter from Brady & his music is put onto her iPod await for her. After days of listening to Brady sign, she's head over heels for him. Then, she runs into him in the elevator and they go out to lunch. Their flirting & comfortness from the start is really cute and refreshing. Brady talks her into coming to his show & dinner afterwards. He drives so she can't dip out again. While they're waiting for his turn on stage. You'd think they were the only ones in the bar.
As the days come and go their relationship continues to get stronger and stronger. But, it's def not all cupcakes and rainbows either.. They both have secrets. I mean deep, messed up secrets. They're afraid to tell each other bc they're afraid that they'll loose each other. What they don't hide is their feeling's for each other.
They also have obstacles in their way too. You have Kara the crazy chick who want's Brady. Not that I can blame her. Grant. The other insanely hot guy she meets in the library. Who helps tutor her in Algebra. And, he has a past with Brady. But, she doesn't know what or how far back or intense it really is. Last there's Vodka Vince. The homeless guy that Sadie gives $20 to and feeds him once in awhile. Brady warns her to stay away for her own safety. But, Sadie isn't stupid. She knows there's something more to it.But for now,she doesn't question it.
After a bunch of ups & downs. And after all the secrets are out on the table for everyone to see. Brady & Sadie must find a way to prove to themselves that they deserve to be happy. And, find a way to see the they're not to be left alone.
I never read anything from Michelle Lynn before. I have to say that I'm pissed I waited this long to read something by her!!! I love her writing, her characters. I can tell you this... Michelle Lynn you have me as a fan for life!!!
" I won't give up. If you're not going to fight for this... I'll do it for both of us."
"You have no idea how hard it is for me not to grab you and throw you down on my bed right now. It's taking every ounce of self-restraint I have to be this close to you and not be inside of you"
"You just don't get it, Sadie. In my whole life, I have never felt like this. Since the moment I saw you,I feel like there was a purpose in my life. I am no longer alone and I never want that feeling to leave."
