I am always nervous when it comes to reading a novella. I am prepared to feel as though I'm missing something. Nope. Not this one! I really loved this book. There were times I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants. LOL.. I wish it was longer. But, we are getting 2 more books of Ryder Stevens. So, it's all good.

Ryder is only 24yrs old and already the #1 British tennis championship. He has played it his whole life. He knows he's #1 and that nobody can beat him. Because of that he's become bored. Most of the other tennis players don't like him. They don't like that the night before  a big match he can be up until early hours of the morning having sex. Sometimes with multiple woman. They feel it's disrespectful. Ask Ryder if he cares. Because, he don't give a rats ass. 

The night before the French Open Ryder takes 4 ladies back to his hotel room. He has a awesome night planned. But, after a slip & fall that leaves in sidelined and the butt of the joke. Literally! Ryder is stuck in bed for awhile. 

Bored out of his mind he takes drastic measures. He goes through his fan mail. But, it wasn't all wedding proposals and women's underwear. NO. He got a letter from 7yr old Jake. He calls Ryder a "butthead" for not taking tennis seriously. Jake's letter had me laughing and gasping bc he's not a well kid.

Ryder calls Jake. But, Scarlett his mom answers. These 2 had me rolling! She lets Ryder know he's an ass and isn't speaking to her son and hangs up on Ryder! Ryder being Ryder doesn't give up. They eventually agree to become friends. But, it comes at a price. Scarlett wants Ryder to become a better person. To do nice things for people that don't include money. Ryder starts and realizes he likes doing it. Like the way it makes him feel.

Then, Ryder gets his dad to help him help Jake. Now, Scarlett & Jake are coming to try and get Jake in a clinical trial to help him. My eyes teared up. Ryder was finally getting it. And, his heart is doing all these crazy things. Ryder is starting to feel things towards Scarlett. He's also thinking there is something else out there other then just tennis.

Scarlett & Jake get to Britain. Ryder and Scarlett have an insane chemistry!! I mean these 2 together are hot!! Ryder has never felt this way about a woman. Even though he knows Scarlett is hiding something. He just doesn't know what.

Jake & Scarlett have to go back to the U.S for a few weeks before they return. They know this long term thing between them is going to suck. Both are willing to try it.

WARNING  Cliffhanger!! I can't even tell you how fast & hard my jaw fell at the end. I totally wasn't expecting that. Damn!!! I'm afraid to see how Ryder will be in the next book after this. Even in the beginning when he was a major jerk I had a major soft spot for him. Then, after everything he did I loved him!! You totally will too. I am dying for book 2!!
