Oh man. I need Aly to write faster bc I love her books so much and no joke I hate waiting for her next release once I finish her last. I was super glad I didn’t have to wait long for The Truth Of Us once I finished the first part The Truth About Lies.
If you’ve read book one and you’re singing “ding dong the Guerrero’s are dead. Guerrero’s are dead time to party”. Think again. The Guerrero family still has enemies and not every Guerrero are six feet under.
I’m not giving away the last part to this story. We know from last few sentences of last book that Penn is alive and he’s picked up Savannah and that Drew has Cora and River. That hasn’t changed.
Cora found the money, pics, important papers and the stars Nic left for her that Penn left for her. Drew claims he doesn’t know what it’s doing there. Cora plans on helping the girls get set up to get out of the life. Once she does that then she can take River buy a house and get them a new life. As well as get Cat set up. ESP now that they’re dead.
Cora has so many questions surrounding Penn and what led to his death. Drew swears he doesn’t know anything. But, actions speak louder then words and in Cora’s eyes Drew isn’t acting like he’s lost his brother but she’ll let him act. That was until she gets arrest for child endangerment and River’s taking away from her. When she starts demanding the truth from Drew somebody from the dead comes back in her life ad Cora’s more confused then before.
Penn had a plan. A plan him and Drew have put together and it’s been set in motion. He’s not supposed to veer from the plan. Then he her met Cora Guerrero and her girls Savannah and River. Now, he’s not sure what’s up and down. First he left Cora the money. Now, he’s moved Savannah into his home. She’s calling him daddy and testing his nerves. But, he’s never admit it that he wouldn’t change the decisions he’s made.
When Drew shows up with news about River being taken away it’s the name of the person that’s behind it that makes his blood freeze. Penn knows he must get his hands on this piece of garbage once and for all.
Penn knows the minute Cora sees him it’s not going to be pretty and she’ll have every reason to feel the things she’ll be feeling. Yes he was married before and Penn loved his wife. But, the feelings he has for Cora are stronger then he’s ever felt before. Even Drew saying it messes Penn up. But, he won’t give up Cora for a second time without one hell of a fight.
I read the first part quick but this was finished quicker lol. We see more of what went down with Penn’s wife and learn the exact reason why she was murdered.
There were so many wtf’s in this book. ESP at the end. There were a few huge this that I did not see coming that after I finished the sentence I was left jaw dropped and rereading to make sure I read it properly. And, lemme just say the Penn/Savannah relationship was hysterical at first with what she put him through and then it turned beautiful.
When I tell you I’m looking forward to Drew and Cat’s story that’s an understatement. Bc, after getting a bit into his head at his past I’m telling NOW GIMME NOW!!!! So Aly please hurry up lol
