They say going home is easy, and in all reality, it should be. Just not for me.
The small, one-horse town that gave me my roots, that made my soul thrive, is also the
place I never wanted to set foot in again. I left everything behind and never looked back.
Until now. With the death of the man who raised me, I’m forced to return to Boone.
Old wounds resurface, and heartache and loss trump everything once more.
Seeing the man who shattered my world the night of our high school graduation almost
brings me to my knees. Jessie, my once best friend and love of my life, ruined it all for
me…for us.
I’m back in Boone…and my secret is about to rattle the tiny town.

✯✯5 Whit Filled Stars!!!✯✯

HJ Bellus is a Queen! I’ve loved every book of hers that I have read and Yesterday Is Gone was no different. I read this in less then one night.

Jules and Jessie are high school sweethearts. They’ve loved each other forever. They’d planned on going to college together and spending their lives together. But, then plans changed. Jules got pregnant and her and Jesse couldn’t agree on what came next. Jesse went to college to play football and Jules moved away with no desire on ever coming back.

Jules moved away from her home and grandparents five years ago. Her grandparents visited her once a month. But, now her grandpa has passed away and she’s packing her and her daughter up and going back home.

Jules knows the minute she goes home everybody in town is going to stare and run their mouths. Jules wants to stay as far away from Jessie as possible. She knew the day would come where she had to come face to face with him and introduce him to his daughter. The minute Jessie shows up at her grandparents house and him and their daughter meet everything is going to change.

The biggest mistake Jessie ever made was going off the college leaving Jules. When he got hurt and came home he tried finding out where she was. Her grandparents wouldn’t tell him.

The minute Jessie goes to Jules’s grandparents house and he runs into the cutest little girl all it takes is him to look into her eyes to know she’s his daughter. Jessie was already planning to do whatever he needed in order to win Jules back. But, now he has two girls to love and to make up for the last five years.

Jules is a strong women and an incredible mother. But, she’s torn. Jules has never stopped loving Jessie. He is the love of her life and he’s also the guy who hurt her the worst and broke her heart. She might be fine with him  having a relationship with their daughter. But, she’s trying hard to keep him at arms length bc her heart didn’t get the message.

Jessie is a must love for me. Yes, when he was a teenager he said the wrong thing. Should he of done things differently, yes most definitely. But, the minute he sees Whit and Jules for the first time his entire world changes and his entire world is them and he’ll do whatever he has to in order to keep them. Jessie totally redeemed himself to me.

I know some people had issues with Jessie’s language in front of Whit. Yes, I agree you should watch your language in front of kids. But.... It doesn’t get to me that much bc he went from a young single guy one minute to a father of a five year old little girl. You tend to forget there’s little ears around and they’ll repeat everything you said.

Other then that I really loved this book. I am really looking forward to HJ Bellus’s next book. So hurry up lol.
