Danielle did it again!!! I can honestly say I loved this book better then the first one. This book was literally a page turner. I literally could not put it down. I had to know what was happening next. I love all the characters except for like 2 of them.Not only do we have multiple POV like before. But, we get everyone's POV. I just wish we got more of Marcus & Lucia's POV. The women in this story are all so strong and independent even after everything that they have been through their whole lives.
The book picks up 2 years after book 1 ends. Now, you think that being Lucia has her own record company & has signed such awesome singers. She's engaged to her best friend Greg that she would be living the dream. But, I think you are forgetting this is Lucia Mpobo-Riddell. Her life has never been easy. Her business is thriving. But, her personal life.. Not so much. Her & Greg are not as happy as they once were. The reason, her name is Cassie!
"Why can't he just love me for who I am? I'm not a bad person; so I can be a bit unconventional-"
Cassie is not what you're thinking. Noor got herself in trouble AGAIN!! Now, Lucia is raising Noor &
Andrew's daughter Cassie. Greg is not happy about it at all. He can not stand that Lucia's life revolves around Cassie. He hates it with a passion. He can't stand that Lucia's new BFF is none other then Paddy (Marcus's older brother). Me on the other hand. I loved Patty!! Every time he was around he had me laughing & smiling. Just when Greg thought it couldn't get worse. Lucia gets a phone call that Marcus & Paddy's father passed away. She packs up Cassie and they all including the entire family head to London.

While in London Marcus (who's still dreamy, sexy & fine as hell) lets it be known his heart belongs to Lucia. It's hard for Lucia because deep down she's broken. Her heart is in a pile of ashes. Between Marcus & Greg she doesn't know whats up or down. Her family & friends are trying to let her figure it out herself. But, instead she's just getting worse.
Lucia & Greg fight constantly. He's been in New York with Matt working. While a pregnant Beesly is staying with Lucia & Cassie. She is still the same crazy Beesly.
"I've been waiting for you for more then two years. I'm sorry Luce but I don't think I can do this anymore."
We also have Axelle, Noor, Greg, and the Mpobo-Riddell mother POV. Which is nice. Because, we get to know what is going on with everyone. Everyone has such crazy stuff going on. Everyone has secrets, demons that they're all fighting with. Everyone is trying to do what's right for themselves & the people they care about.
Marcus has hatched his own plan to get Lucia back. Greg is super, super jealous of Marcus, Paddy, and Alex. He is an old family friend ;)
Poor Lucia is torn. The only thing in her life that makes sense & feels right is Cassie. Cassie the the one thing she knows she has done right. Lucia needs to decide who she wants to be with. She's tired of feeling this bad.

I really don't want to give anything away. I will tell you that we learned so so so much about Marcus & Lucia past. We learned about The Mpobo-Riddell sisters childhood and find out exactly what happened. Every time I read something with Cassie involved I couldn't help but smile. Her & Marcus had such a bond,. You'd think he was her father. Lucia is still as loud, independent, beautiful as before. But, she has a lot more going on that is making her distracted. I really felt for her. She didn't deserve most of what she got.
I can not wait for the next book!! You definitely do not want to miss this book!!! Danielle made me you feel exactly what the characters were feeling. They all must decide who they are going to be with, who's going to make them the most happiest. Every time you think you know what's coming... Think again!!!
