About Come To Me Recklessly
From the New York Times bestselling author of Come to Me Softly comes
another irresistible new adult romance in the Closer to You series.
His heart was turned off…
Until she turned him on…
Christopher Moore gave up on the idea of love years ago. Now, his life is an endless string of parties and an even longer string of girls. Enjoying the physical perks with none of the emotional mess, he’s convinced everyone that he’s satisfied—everyone but himself.
Samantha Schultz has moved on with her life. Finishing her student teaching and living with her boyfriend, she’s deluded herself into believing she’s content. But there is one boy she never forgot—her first love—and she keeps the memory of him locked up tight. She will never allow any man to break her the way Christopher did.
When Christopher’s sister and her family move into a new neighborhood, Christopher is completely unprepared to find Samantha living at the end of the street. Memories and unspent desires send them on collision course of sex, lies, and lust. But when guilt and fear send Samantha running, Christopher will have to fight for what has always been his.
“No one tells a story about "The One" with as much beauty and tragedy as AL Jackson does. You can't read her words without having them sink deep inside of you and sticking around like a favorite memory.” ~ New York Times bestselling author Jay Crownover

Finally! I been waiting for Christopher's story since I read Come To Me Quietly which was the first book in the series. It's about Christopher's younger sister Aly and his best friend Jared. In the first 2 books we seen Christopher drinking constantly and there were lots of random hook-ups. The only thing he cared and really cared about was his family & Jared. But, what or who caused it? We find out.
Samantha has her first teaching job. She's living with her boyfriend Ben. But, inside she's not 100% happy. Samantha knows Ben is what and who her family and preacher father expect her to be with. But, her heart has really only belonged to one person.
Samantha goes to the store and gets the surprise of a lifetime. She runs into her old friends Aly & Jared. Samantha had always got a long with Christopher's sister Aly and his best friend Jared. Now, they get ti talking and exchanged numbers. Samantha knows this is not a good idea. What if she runs into Christopher?
Well, they do and man was it explosive!! Christopher is furious. He makes it known he does not want her around his family and him. Samantha is furious as well. She's more furious at herself. How could she think she could be friends with Jared & Aly again. ESP just looking at Christopher brings back all these emotions. All the good and the bad are coming back full force.
I loved how we flashed back from present to the past when their love started. Seeing Christopher instantly fall for the preacher's daughter. The girl who got made fun of. He was so protective of her. Christopher & Samantha loved each other with everything they had. Then, Christopher life turned upside down. Samantha's family had other plans.
Now, after so many years apart both Samantha and Christopher are fighting such emotions. They've never moved on from each other. They also have buried their feelings for each other. And, basically faked being happy so nobody would know. Then, Christopher & Samantha realize the feelings are too much. Neither one of them wants to fight them either. Even though they've got so much to work thru to get over all the hurt they have felt the last 7yrs. It's not easy.
AL Jackson wrote Samantha & Christopher's story beautifully. I loved how she made the story go from present to past and back again. I love how she made Christopher look hard and cold on the outside. But, whenever he looked at his sister, his niece and Samantha. It was pure and full of love. Even his relationship he had with Samantha's younger brother was beautiful. I was glad Samantha finally decided to live her life for her. And, not the life her parents thought she needed. Or what Ben wanted.
They are both such good people and were so damaged. Both of them are not living their life fully. When they see each other and realize it's time to move on. Time to finally be happy. They fight for what they want. And, it was beautiful!! I was so mad when I finished because then it was over!! Hahaha... You definitely need to read this.

Then I turned and rushed to the sliding glass door. I went to duck inside, when my path was obstructed by an imposing figure at the doorway, the man a full foot taller than my five foot four. I didn’t want to look up, but I couldn’t stop myself from being drawn, and his warm breath washed over my face.

Chills cascaded in a dizzying wave down my spine, before the
venom in his voice lifted the hairs at the nape of my neck, the words cold and
deathly quiet. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing here?”
Lost in the searing anger blazing in his green eyes, I
stammered for an answer. “I…I…”
I swallowed hard and he leaned in closer, his nose brushing
mine, and I was suddenly drowning in everything Christopher Moore—the way he
smelled, clean, like a breath of the morning’s freshest air, but still
something else entirely intoxicating, like sex and lust and everything I’d ever
wanted but knew I shouldn’t have.
My thoughts went fuzzy as I got lost in it, before that
wicked voice snapped me back. “Stay away from my family.” Like a caress, he
trailed his finger along the line of my jaw, lifting a line of goose bumps in
its wake; before he hooked it under my chin, bringing his mouth a centimeter
from mine.
There was no stopping the way my lips parted on instinct, as
if they’d forever been waiting for his. His heat spread across my face, and I
felt myself leaning forward.
“And stay the fuck away from me.”
Stunned, I stared, my mouth gaping open with offended shock
and my body reeling from the need he’d spun up in me.
