This is a story about a boy who loves a girl...deeply, madly, passionately. But never in a million years did I think my story would end like this... I fell in love with her when I was just a boy. And then I never fell out of love. I just fell deeper. But she has everything. She is everything. And I have nothing to offer her. Except my heart. Sometimes the guy gets the girl, and they live happily ever after. I wanted to be that guy, you know? Especially since I can't imagine ever loving anyone else. Right after I work up the courage to tell her, my world gets torn apart. My dream becomes my worst nightmare. I wish I could go back in time. I wish I had told her sooner. But most of all...I wish it would rain again.
✯✯5 Lovely Stars!!
Finally!! I been waiting patiently for Beth Michelle to write another book. The wait was totally worth it! Beth made me fall in love with Dylan and Evie along with everybody else in this story. This is the first book I've read in awhile that I didn't dislike someone. It was such a nice change lol.
Dylan and Evie met when they were 6yrs old and been best friends since. Not only are they best friends but they are also madly in love with each other. But, they keep that to themselves. Both Dylan and Evie are fighting their own demons. Their own battles on why they step up and make a move.
Both of them lost their parents. Evie just has her sister Zoey and best friend Nora. Dylan has his brother Jordan, Grandma Molly and best friend Braden. They lost their parents differently but it left a huge impact on them. One is afraid their not good enough. While the other is afraid once they open their heart they'll loose the other one.
Everybody can see the love that these two have for each other. Dylan and Evie AKA Dills and Hopper try to fight their feelings for each other. But, could only do so for so long. Before that got to be to hard. I jumped for joy when they gave up fighting it. Once they jumped in they jumped in. There was no awkwardness between these two. Their love was unconditional and can't be stopped.
But, just when you think it's a happily ever after. The worst thing can happen. Now, they are fighting for survival, for each other and to not loose what they waited so long for. One is fighting to stay afloat. The other is fighting for their love to just grab their hand.
I loved how all through the book we would go back and forth between the past and the present. It went back and forth beautifully. Beth did a beautiful job at showing you their lives and making you feel how much love and respect these two have for each other.
This book wrecked me. It hit me on a whole different level. Hit way way close to home. Everything Evie felt I been there more then once. Beth wrote Dylan and Evie story beautifully. I really wish we'd get more of their story. As well as everyone else's. You will not be disappointed when you read this.
