Part Two of the Calling Me Series. Part One is Calling Me Back.
Is it possible for a guy to turn on a switch and realize he’s been in love with a girl that’s been under his nose for over a decade? Ashleigh Franklin can’t decide.
Ashleigh wants the fairy tale. Ever since she was a kid, her best friend’s brother, Luke, has been her fantasy Prince Charming. Now he’s trying to convince her that she’s the one he’s wanted all these years. There’s no way it’s that easy to escape the friend zone.
Single after years living with a girlfriend, Luke has finally woken up. What he’s been waiting for has been right under his nose for almost his entire life. Can he persuade her that he’s serious and won’t break her heart?
A Wonder Woman costume, a bottle of tequila and a game of truth or dare between two close friends changes everything.
The Calling Me Series concludes with Calling Me Home released on 13 October
✯✯5 Questionable Stars!!!✯✯
I couldn't wait to read this. Louise Bay has a way with her novella series's. She can pack in enough juicy stuff and then leave you speechless. This series was no different then her previous ones. Luke just keeps getting finer and finer.
Just when I thought Ashleigh and Luke were going to start their HEA they had to go and speak to Haven. Haven is not ecstatic happy. She's feeling that it's all too fast. Luke literally legit just broke up with Emma. Ashleigh has been in love with him her whole life. Haven doesn't want them rushing into it to realize it's not what's best for them and their family be torn apart.
Ashleigh realizes that Haven is right. She decides to put a hold on them. Ashleigh wants Luke to make sure he's over Emma and not just doing the whole rebound thing. Ashleigh tells him to do things for himself. Get a new job, new hobby, hell even date if that what it takes for him to make sure he's 100% sure.
Luke is beyond devastated. He knows he can't explain it but since their first kiss, his eyes and heart are open. For most of his life she was known to him as Ash. But, since that kiss she's Ashleigh the woman he loves and plans on spending the rest of his life wife. Luke will do whatever it takes to prove to Ashleigh he is serious about her. Luke gets a new place of his own. He picked it out for him and by what he likes and not anyone else. Which he's never done. He's also gotten a new hobby. Luke has decided to start training for a triathlon. Since he's new to it Fiona who works at his job has offered to help him.
Both Luke and Ashleigh start getting into their own routines. They miss each other horribly but are afraid to call the other one in case not enough time has passed. After an awkward Sunday family dinner things start to change. Sunday dinners come to a stop. Not even realizing it. Luke knows how close Haven and Ashleigh are and Ashleigh won't get in the middle of Haven and Luke.
Luke continues to train for the triathlon while he's casually dating Fiona. Even though everything's compared to Ashleigh. Ashleigh on the other hand is trying to better herself and get into a school program to advance in her career. While hanging out with Richard. Yes, you read that. They're strictly in the friend zone even though Richard has put his feelings out there. Both are hoping it'll pass and they can go back to each other. But, can one pull their head outta their ass before the other one moves on?
I absolutely love this series. I love Ashleigh, Luke, Haven, Jake and Beth. They all have such an awesome relationships. Even Jake sister Beth fits into this crazy group perfect. Haven did an excellent job at not picking sides between the 2 people that mean the most to her. The bromance between Luke and Jake always has me rolling. The brother/sister relationship with Haven and Luke reminds me of my brother and me. They're awesome characters to fall in love with.
There was multiple times I wanted to knock sense into Ashleigh. I 100% got and understood where she was coming from. But, you can't get upset and jealous when somebody is doing the thing you told them to do. Luke is the man any women would be lucky to get. Louise is doing an awesomely beautiful job with Luke and Ashleigh. I can not wait to read the final book.
