✯✯4 Ice Melting Stars!!✯✯

"Appearances, Emily--always remember you must not embarrass the family."

Let me start off with I really did like this book!! I  originally decided to read this book after I read the synopsis. Simply because when I was younger one of my FAVORITE movies was 'The Cutting Edge'. It was about a washed out hockey player falls for a stuck up figure skater. When I read the synopsis I said this was definitely my next book. I'm really glad I read this book!!

Emily & Jeremy meet when she was eleven & he was thirteen. Lets just say their relationship does not start off friendly!!! They meet again a  couple years later. That ends up not being to good either. Yet, Jeremy is definitely attracted to Emily. He wouldn't mind taking her out. Emily on the other hand. The poor girl has no life. Her parents have made sure of it! Emily is stuck in a life she does not like or want. Everything she does is to make her parents name look "GOOD". She has no life outside ice skating. Poor Emily has nobody. No support system. Nobody to talk too. It's sad.Unlike Jeremy, who has such an awesome family & friends. He may not have a lot of money. May not have NHL contract just yet. But, yet he has everything. Except someone to love.

"Em, don't go like this. Tell me that kiss didn't mean something to you. Tell me you didn't feel the same thing I did while I had you in my arms.Give me one good reason why I shouldn't pursue this with us?"
Now, they run back into each other. They're in their early 20's. Emily is the number 1 choice for the next Olympic gold. Jeremy is playing in the minor leagues. They both are almost exactly where they want to be. Jeremy wants that NHL contract.   Emily wants that gold medal so she can stick it up her mothers ass!

"Do you have any idea how beautiful you are? You don't, do you? I know this is all new for you, and I'll be as patient as you need me to be."

Jeremy will do just about anything to not let Emily run away again. He convinces her it's OK to live a little. He gets her old friend Sue & his little sister Courtney to help. The 3 girls start hanging out & texting on a regular basis. Emily is really enjoying herself. She quickly realizes what she has been missing all this time. Emily decides rather quick that she is going to give whatever it is with Jeremy a shot. No matter what her parents say!

"Jeremy, I can't hurt you, and I won't. That kiss will be imbedded in my mind forever, but we both know it won't work out with us."

The night before they both go on the road for 3 weeks, they have a huge fight. Who's the person Emily runs too. Jeremy's mom!! You will absolutely fall in love with his parents!! His mom was one of my favorite people in this book. She takes in all of Jeremy & his brother Josh and Courtney's friends. It's like his parents adopt everyone. It was really nice to see.

Over the course of the rest of the book, there are  a lot of us & downs. Trust is a major issue!! Emily maybe in her early 20's. But, this girl has never been kissed & is still a virgin.  Jeremy on the other hand is far from a virgin!! He has had his heart broken once in college. And, from there on out his was a one two night kind of guy. There are things from Jeremy's past Emily has a hard time getting passed. Jeremy needs to get passed the biggest obstacle. Her parents!!!

"If I'm going to go through hell and back again, at least it's going to be her I'm doing it for. Call me crazy, but I'm going all in on this one. I just hope luck is on my side."

All in all I really did enjoy this book. There was a lot of stuff I did and did not like. Emily's parents I literally could not stand!! Not once in Emily's life did they see or treat her like the daughter she is. Instead she was their meal ticket. The better she did the better they looked. I mean they would purposely make her look bad just to make money. It was sickening!! I did love watching Emily grow into the woman she always wanted to be. It wasn't easy for her. And, her parents totally didn't help. Jeremy... There wasn't anything I disliked about him. No joke!! Jeremy's family & friends are really awesome as well.

"If and when you're able to walk away, you can always walk toward me. Got it?"

For this being Sara's debut book, she did a fantastic job. There was one thing that annoyed me to no end! For Emily being in her 20's and never been kissed & is still a virgin. She has learned everything from reading her romance novels. There's no way she can be that open & that good at sex. I don't know anybody who's that good when they first start. It really, really ticked me off to no end!! But, I really am looking forward to the next book Hidden Barriers

"You make me feel beautiful and open, and I've never felt this way before. I want my first time to be special, and I know in my heart it was always meant to be with you."

“I’m more than shocked when Emily orders herself a Shipyard Pumpkinhead beer with a rim job. I glance at her completely engrossed in her boldness, when the most amazing words come of her mouth. “I don’t know about you Jeremy, but I just love licking off those rim jobs!” Time for me to readjust my cock again, thanks in part to my naughty little ice princess sitting next to me.”

Something inside of me keeps telling me to fight for this girl. “Quit, just say the hell with it! Do what makes you happy for once. From the first time I knocked you on your ass when you were eleven at the Forum I knew you didn’t belong in that life.”
“You don’t even know me Jeremy! Shit! I don’t even know me.” Emily exclaimed. “Emily, I want to get to know you. But you keep pushing me away

If I’m going to go through hell and back again, at least it’s going to be her I’m doing it for. Call me crazy, but I’m going all in on this one, I just hope luck is on my side.”
“You’ll have no problem getting to hell, you’ve seen her mother. That’s not going to be easy to get through, but for some reason I think you’ll handle her better than anyone. She’s totally not going to be into you for a status fuck. But, if you are going to go to battle for a girl, at least its one as smoking hot as Emily. Best of luck man, you‘re gonna need it, but I’ll have your back if you need me.”
Standing up on my wobbly legs, I giggle. Why are my legs like rubber? I turn and my eyes run up the length of the guy standing in front of me. My eyes meet those intoxicating big brown eyes. “Oh Shit,” I whisper.  That’s when I feel as though I’m falling and the last thing I remember were two warm, strong arms wrapped around my body.

Staring at myself in the mirror, I see what I am. I’m just nothing but a commodity for my parents to use for their own self worth. I’m disgusted with myself for never putting up a fight, even once I was old enough to realize it. So, why is it when Jeremy asked me what I wanted to do with my life once my skating career was over, I froze up? A part of me saw that everything I’ve worked for in my life so far, is going to be gone soon and after that I’ve got nothing. What do I want to do?
I’m talking to Dave about some random hockey play when his eyes go wide, spitting his beer from his mouth. “I need a minute, it’s just not right.” What the hell? I watch Dave walk away before turning in the direction he was just looking, I see what caused him to turn away. There’s my girlfriend in her naughty Alice in Wonderland costume on her knees, blindfolded with her hands bound behind her back. Then she starts bobbing her head and a million different thoughts are now running through my mind. Just the main one is enough for me to run my hands through my hair and start pacing the yard because the wrong head is working at the moment.
Turning my back, while lifting my curled hair up I say over my shoulder, “Once you unzip this dress you can do whatever you want with me. Drink me. Eat me. Spank me. Fuck me. I don’t care just so long as you end up in me.”
“You’re my everything. You’re my yesterday, today and my tomorrow. No matter where we are five years from now, you’re a part of my heart Jeremy Page.”

A romance novel addict finds herself staying up well past her bedtime to see how the next story is going to end. Sara spends her days living on a vineyard in wine country with her husband and cat. Her family hailed from Italy where her ancestors lived in the mountains of Rocca di Cambio. A former Broadway star and champion skier whose career was cut short because of her passion for being a wine sommelier. It was on her way west where she met her husband, the President of a very influential MC in California. You can find her riding off through the vineyards on the back of a Harley almost every night.

Her passion for books has been viewed as borderline obsessive. But, when all you have is time and a bottle of wine awaiting you as the sun sets off the veranda writing became second nature.
