✯Release Review✯ The Russian Bodyguard (Krasnov Brothers, #3) by Rie Warren

Title: The Russian Bodyguard
Series: Krasnov Brothers
Author: Rie Warren
Genre: Mafia/Dark Romance
Release Date: December 7, 2020

I am her bodyguard.
I’m her only hope.
I’m going to break her, teach her, train her.

I cannot stand this prissy brat who practically throws herself at every guy she meets. Yet I’m tasked with babysitting her. The pakhan’s daughter tests my patience, makes me want to break out in uncontrolled violence, or maybe just throw her down to show her what all her teasing does to a real man.

She’s untouchable. Until a Russian rival mafia comes seeking revenge. I’m about to teach the printsessa a lesson she’ll never forget, and I guarantee she’s the one who will be taking my orders from now on.

The Russian Bodyguard is book 3 in the Krasnov Brothers series. No cliffhangers. No cheating. Includes vivid, steamy scenes. Can be read as a standalone.

✯✯5 Maksim Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Omg I’ve wanted this story since I read The Russian Thug!! I knew once Sasha and Maksim gave into their feelings for each other they were going to be explosive.

We start off right after we left off. Arkady and Lucia are getting married and everybody’s that’s everybody is there.

Maksim would like to just be able to enjoy his older brother’s wedding but unfortunately for him he’s on the clock 24/7. His job is to be a full time babysitter to Sasha, who’s the only daughter to Yuri Zolotov. Maksim is tasked with keeping her safe and alive no matter the costs.

Maksim and the his brothers don’t get to enjoy the wedding long bc they’re ambushed and Sasha is kidnapped. Luckily, Maksim has gps on her and gets to her quick.

The last thing Sasha thought she’d been doing that day was being taken by somebody and then having to get dirty in the process. That wasn’t the worst part.

The Zolotov Bratva is under attack over something that happened years ago with Yuri and another Bratva and now they’re coming for payback.

Yuri knows what to do to keep his only daughter safe. Sasha will marry Maksim. Sasha is instantly against it but Maksim agrees immediately.

Maksim lets Sasha know once they’re married she’ll do what he say’s no question’s asked or he’ll bend her over until she understands him. Sasha is both furious hot and bothered.

If you read Arkady’s book you were prob hot like I was reading it. But, man Maksim was hotter!!  Sasha has always been a pain in his backside but lately she’s gotten under his skin for different reasons and he wasn’t sure how he felt about them.

Safe and Maksim are usually at each other’s throat’s fighting for everything that you can imagine. Now, they’re married, living alone in a small place and they’re just waiting for the other shoe to drop with their enemies. They’ve also given into their desires.

OMG I read this book in a day!! I was wondering what was going to get Sasha and Maksim together after them hating each other for so long. It was so much better then I could’ve ever thought up myself.

After reading all about the Krasnov brothers and the Russian mafia life. These brother’s are equally dangerous and hot and they’re all on my favorite list.

I’m equally attracted to another set of mafia brothers we met in The Russian Thug. Jo’s brothers who are now allied to the Krasnov and the Zolotov Bratva. I’m all for the O’ Sullivan brothers.

Maksim’s chest heaved as he read me the riot act. “You are fucking impossible.”

“And you are the worst man I could ever have been shackled to!”

His hand snapping out, he squeezed my cheeks hard.

I tried not to flinch, but his grip was vise-like.

Maksim lowered his face to mine, his gunmetal irises just this side of demonic. “I really will beat your ass if you ever attempt to go out on your own again.”

“Do it!”

Releasing my face, he yanked me into his unyielding embrace. His mouth crashed over mine with a fury I’d never tasted before.

I struggled, kicking at anything I could reach.

He speared his tongue into my mouth, wildly claiming what he thought was rightfully his. Holding me caged against him, he drove a hand into my hair, angling my neck, trying to conquer me.

I let out a strangled growl then let the rage and arousal explode out of me.

Wrath, lust . . . I despised him.

Desire, rage . . . I wanted some part of him.

Maksim grunted when I licked between his lips, drawing me up his body so we collided in all the right ways—for once.

We kissed so ferociously, clawing at each other, practically tearing into one another to get some kind of upper hand out of this pure madness.

And still the heat roared.

We broke apart just as forcibly as we’d clashed together, both of us breathing hard.

“I hate you with every single fiber of my being,” I scathed.

“That makes two of us.” A hard sneer crossed his lips that had just been slanted across mine.

Then, Maksim struck.

He grabbed both sides of my blazer and ripped it open. Buttons popped off, pinging across the room. I looked down at my ruined leather jacket just as he tore if off my back.

Breasts thrust against the corset that remained, I saw him through a haze of red when he slung the jacket aside like it was no more than a piece of rubbish.

I launched back to smack him right across his face, but he captured my wrist in an iron grip.

He towed me inexorably against him again, and all my feral instincts went into meeting his wild kiss.

A loud groan thundered from his chest when I rolled my tongue over his then nipped at his bottom lip. His hands roved from my arms to my ass, and he cranked me right against his undeniable erection, which threw me back into that heady spiral of hate and lust.

His sculpted features came slowly into focus when he drew back.

A filthy grin the likes of which I’d never seen played across his lips that—goddamn him—had felt perfectly voracious against mine. “Shall I tell you what I’ve been thinking about?”

“What?” All the breath caught in my chest, my voice emerging raspingly.

His smirk widened. He paced backward a couple of steps. Without taking his eyes off mine, he removed his tie. With a shift of his strong hands, he unbuttoned his shirt from top to bottom. A shrug of ropey shoulders, and he eased the material from his muscular tattooed torso.

Then his fingers—the ones that had bit into the fleshiness of my ass—dropped to his trousers.

The belt slithered and hissed like a snake when he removed it. He stepped out of his shoes, toed off his socks, went for the closure of his pants.

His voice the same gruff timbre as always, he unzipped, saying, “I have been thinking about my cock in your mouth, Sashenka.”

✯Release Review✯ Far from Lost (Far Series #3) by Kate L. Mary

Title: Far from Lost
Author: Kate L Mary
Genre: Post-Apocalyptic
Publisher: Twisted Press
Publication Date: December 7th, 2020
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR

Blurb:

How far would you go to save what you thought you’d lost during the apocalypse?

After learning her father is alive, going with Heath had seemed like a no-brainer to Rowan. Her dad was all she had left, after all. The only remaining piece of the life she’d loved so much. But their reunion doesn’t go quite the way she expected it to, and Rowan finds herself alone and uncertain, making her wish she’d taken the time to think things through before making a decision that might cost her so much.

Kiaya has always been logical and resourceful, and she’s confident if she and Devon work together, they’ll be able to figure out a way to get Rowan back. But there’s trouble brewing in the group, making Kiaya question who she can trust. Even worse, she can’t help wondering if staying at the school is the right decision at all.

Between the zombies walking the earth, the wildfire that shows no signs of stopping, and dangerous survivors lurking both in town and in their very own halls, it feels like the whole world is out to get them. Still, Kiaya is determined to not only save Rowan, but to also figure out a way to keep everyone she cares about safe.

✯✯5 Rowan & Kiaya Filled Stars!✯✯

Wow finally!!!
Far from Safe ended with a cliffhanger that had me cursing at the author. That’s not new bc she likes to end things with you on the edge of your seat and looking for the next book to release.

We legit pick up in the same place that we left off but..... I love the author gives you the last book two recap from Kiaya’s POV!!! I’d been wanting inside her and Devon’s mind since the very beginning.

Rowan has been taken by Heath and his goons and they’re headed back to the hospital when Rowan’s dad is. Kiaya, Devon and Gabe are headed back to the school. Both Rowan and Kiaya are wondering wtf is next.

Rowan is known for acting on her emotions and not thinking ahead and getting her and her friends into situations that end with them fighting for their lives and this is no different. But, this time Rowan realizes she needs to stop doing that and she needs to start thinking things thru more carefully and logically like Kiaya.

Getting to the hospital Rowan sees their setup is amazing but Heath is running it like it’s his way or the highway. Instead of being allowed to see her father she’s getting a shock collar put on her neck and put into a room for probation.

Rowan won’t tell Heath where Gabe and her friends are staying. She sees death and revenge in his eyes and she won’t be a part of it. Regardless of the world they’re living in.

Kiaya and Devon must think of a way to get Rowan back. Kiaya knows it won’t be easy since Gabe doesn’t listen very well to what she has to say.

When Lane gets hurt Kiaya knows she’s gotta take her to the hospital. Gabe doesn’t think it’s a good idea since Lane’s ex is Heath and he wants both Lane and Gabe dead.

But, if they could get Lane help and get closer to getting Rowan back with them that’s a chance everyone is willing to take.

This book was mind blowing!! Kiaya, Rowan, Devon and the rest of their group didn’t have to fight as many zombies as the first two books but don’t be mistaken. In this new world where they’re surrounded by zombies and there’s no cops people are acting out and there’s nobody to stop them.

These friends will do everything to get back together but what happens when they realize they’ve been traveling with a monster this entire time. Plus they know they’ve made enemies that aren’t going to just disappear. ESP in this new world.

This is one storyline and characters I’m loving and that I not only want more but I need more of so Kate L Mary I need you to hurry up asks write the next part of their story.

✯Release Review✯ Fighter's Heart(Crowne MMA Romance #1) by A. Rivers

Title: Fighter's Heart
Series: Crowne MMA Romance #1
Author: A. Rivers
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: December 7, 2020

BLURB

Lena
I never meant to become the go-to P.R. girl for the biggest jerks in professional sports.
Unfortunately, I built a reputation for turning douchebags into superstars, and now I’m stuck.
When I’m assigned to work with a guy accused of hitting his girlfriend, enough is enough.
I know all about men like Jase ‘The Wrangler’ Rawlins, and I have the emotional scars to prove it.
Mouthy, conceited, and hot as f*ck, he’s used to getting his way.
I want nothing to do with him, but my boss makes an offer I can’t refuse.
My dreams are finally within reach, and the more I get to know Jase, the more I wonder if I’ve gotten him completely wrong.
He may be bossy and infuriating, but he’s hiding a heart as massive as his ego.
Can I let go of the past and trust the feelings growing between us when my career is on the line?

Jase
Trouble is nothing new for an MMA bad boy like me, but this time I’m in too deep and can’t get out.
At least, not without help.
That’s where Lena LaFontaine comes in.
All buttoned-up blouses and ass-hugging skirts, she’s a distraction I don’t need, but she’s also the only one who can make my problems go away.
She wants to hate me. I’m not going to let that happen.
I never expect the way I ache to taste her pouty lips and claim her for my own.
My life is on the verge of imploding, and when it does, I’m not sure if I’ll emerge as a champion or be imprisoned for a crime I didn’t commit.
I won’t drag her down with me, but when push comes to shove, I don’t know if I can give her up, either.

Fighter's Heart is a standalone MMA romance with a cocky alpha hero and a sassy heroine who knows how to keep him in check. It has a HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

✯✯Jase & Lena Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Wow what a start to what’s going to be a great series!! I’ve never read or heard of this author before. But after I read the blurb I knew I had to read this and I’m glad I decided to give it a shot.

Lena LaFontaine is to go-to P.R. girl for the biggest jerks in professional sports. She can make the worst of the worst look like an absolutely saint.

When Lena’s boss comes to her with her next client Lena has had it. The last person she wants to represent and make look good is Jase ‘The Wrangler’ Rawlings. Lena has a thing against men that hit woman. Jase’s ex has accused him of hitting her and her boss wants is expecting her to make him look good to the public.

Lena and Jase have an explosive first meeting. She finally gave in and agreed to represent him. Lena will look into what’s going on with Jase and his ex.

Lena doesn’t know what’s come over her. There’s something about Jase. There’s something about the accusations against him that don’t sit well with her. If that was only it. Lena’s attracted to him. Even though Lena knows she needs to keep things professional she fells Jase might be worth it.

Jase is an MMA fighter and he’s worked to damn hard to get where he is to loose it all over a lie. He never laid a finger on his ex and he won’t give into her demands just to get her to recant what she said.

His trainer and manager tell him to get Lena to represent him even though he just wants to ignore it until it goes away.

When Jase hears Lena talk about him like he’s guilty before she’s ever spoken to him it Sweets him on fire and he goes right back at her. Needless to say they don’t like each other regardless of how she makes him feel inside.

The more time Jase spends with Lena the more he wants her to believe he’s innocent and to make her his. Once he gets a taste of her he knows she belongs to him.

When he comes face to face with his opponent to his next fight he learns its Lena’s ex who actually has a hand time keeping his hands to himself.

Jase and Lena have their hands full. Jase wants to destroy Lena’s ex at their fight. Lena wants to get to the bottom of why his ex is claiming he hit her and get the real story out. They’re also fighting their attraction but aren’t really fighting it al that much lol.

This book was everything!! I read it in one day. Once I picked it up and started it I could not put it down!! Jase is SO hot.

I’m in love with Jase’s brother and I can’t wait for Gabe and Sydney’s story next. From the glimpse we got it’s gunna be good and I’m all for it.

EXCERPT

Jase
All the frustration I’ve worked off over the past two hours comes flooding back at the sight of Lena—furious expression, sassy walk, and all. Her cheeks are flushed with anger and her eyes may as well be shooting laser beams straight at me. Her lips move, but I don’t hear the words. My blood has redirected from my big head to my generously proportioned smaller one. Fuck, she’s hot when she’s mad.
She thumps me in the chest, and I scarcely notice. Her fists are tiny. She could probably punch me in the nose and not even crack the bone. Her eyes narrow, and she gets up in my face—a hard ask when she’s several inches shorter than me.
“Do you think this is funny?” she asks, jabbing me in the chest with her free hand. I glance down and see she’s holding a magazine. With a sinking sensation, I take it from her and hold it up so I can see the cover. It’s a photograph from yesterday, of me standing over Erin like a brute. The headline screams at me, and I show Gabe, then shove the magazine into Lena’s hands, sick to my stomach. I won’t read it. I already know it’s full of vitriolic bullshit, and I don’t even blame the reporter for spouting it. I handed the media a gold mine by going after Erin. I’ve made her the poster child for standing up in the face of domestic abuse, with me cast in the role of monster.
Jesus. Fuck.
Lena was right all along. This is serious.
“There are others,” she says, in case I’m holding out any hope that the story has been picked up by a lone tabloid. Closing my eyes, I mutter a stream of curses, growing more creative with each one.
“Hey, brother.” Gabe claps me on the shoulder, which nearly knocks me over since his forearms are covered by heavy kick pads. “You can get past this.” He turns to Lena. “You can fix this, right? That’s what he hired you for?”
Lena releases a long, slow breath. I can sense her hesitation, and it fuels a desperation deep within me. I worked fucking hard to get to where I am. It’s not possible that a selfish girl with a taste for the spotlight could take it away so easily, is it?
“Please.” I grab her free hand between both of mine even though she has a perfect manicure and my gloves are soaked with sweat and completely disgusting. “You’ve gotta try.”
She stares at me, some of her hostility fading, and nibbles on her lower lip. Finally, an excruciatingly long moment later, she says, “You just made my job so much more difficult. I hope you understand that.”
“I do.”
“Trust me, Lena,” Gabe adds. “He may come across as a douche, but he’s not a stupid one. He knows he fucked up.” He shucks his pads and stands shoulder to shoulder with me, the both of us facing her down. This doesn’t seem to intimidate her as it might others. It fires her up. She flicks her sexy red hair over her shoulder and gives us a single, firm nod.
“Well, okay then. Glad we know where we stand.” There’s a brief moment when I think she’s going to move on without rubbing salt in the wound. Then the moment passes. “For the record, I’ve met mushrooms with more forethought than you.”
Should have known she wouldn’t let me off so easily. I suppose if she wants to compare me to fungi, at least it’s a tasty one.
“If we’re going to do this, you need to be a whole lot more open with me. I want no-holds-barred access to your life, Jase. I ask a question, you answer it immediately and truthfully. I make a suggestion, you do everything within your power to make it happen. If you want to climb out of this hole you’ve dug, I need your complete and total commitment. Think you can manage that, fighter boy?”
“That’s fighter man to you.” I can’t resist needling her, and her face screws up the way I knew it would. “But yeah, I’ll do what you say and I’ll accept any help I can get.”
“Good.” Her lips purse, and she seems to have run out of steam. I can see her mentally switching from bulldozer mode to thinking mode, calculating our next steps, figuring out how to get ahead of this, and for the first time, I feel like maybe she’s on my side. Maybe she’s actually invested in me.
The next question out of her mouth is one I don’t see coming. “Is there any truth to Erin’s story?”
“No,” Gabe and I answer at the same time.
“Okay,” she nods, accepting our reply at face value, and I can still see the information running through her mind and being processed. She has a shit poker face, but that’s beside the point. This woman is actually listening to what I have to say and taking it on board. Is she for real?
Her belief in me—if that’s what it is—feels good. Like, unreasonably good. I want to grab her around the waist and twirl her in the air, or take her face between my palms and kiss her irresistible ruby lips. When another ten seconds pass without her saying anything snarky, I’m halfway tempted to strip her clothes off and bang her on the floor, audience be damned.
Finally, she comes to a decision. “There are some things I need to take care of. I’ll be in touch with you later.”
Her hand is still in my grasp, and I squeeze it. “Thanks.” My voice is raspy with emotion, and I cough to clear it. Goddamn it, I am not a pussy.
She studies me, and I’m not sure what she sees, but she seems to like it. “You’re welcome, fighter man.”
My lips quirk up. “You know what I think?”
She tugs her hand away and places it on her hip. “Do I want to know?”
Ah, there’s my mouthy girl. “I think you like me.” She starts to scowl, but I barrel on. “I think you care what happens to me.”
“Do not,” she says, a deep blush traveling down to the neckline of her shirt. With a complexion like that, I bet her entire body blushes, and I want to tear her blouse in half to find out. “I care about keeping my career on track.”
“Uh-huh.” I give her a cocky grin that I know will rile her more. “You tell yourself that, cutie pie.”
She huffs. “You’re insufferable.” Then she whirls around and marches away, the curve of her butt bouncing with each step.
When she’s gone, Gabe whistles under his breath. “Man, she’s something.”
I punch him in the gut, hard enough to sting but not hurt. “Eyes to yourself. She’s not here for your viewing pleasure.”
He guffaws. “That doesn’t stop you.”
“I don’t need you pointing out my hypocrisy.” I stretch my legs and shake them, refusing to analyze why the thought of anyone else checking Lena out makes me want to wrap my arm around the asshole’s throat—friend or not. “Let’s get back to training.”
