✯Review✯Bo(Bad Boys of Retribution MC #3) by Rie Warren

Synopsis:

Now available.

From the world of Carolina Bad Boys . . . Bo Maverick is ex-Force Recon and a force to be reckoned with.

Bo:
I’m a lover, not a fighter. Yeah, right. Talk about bullshit. I’ve been fighting all my life, and I know zip about love. Frankly, I don’t want to. More than bullets whizzing past my head or the very real possibility of ending up dead, love scares the shit out of me. I’m used to guns and killing, blood and dust.

Lust.

That’s what I feel for this woman, my goddamn shrink, Veronica. Doctor Hartley digs inside my head. She asks me questions, which I never answer. I’d much rather take the smart, sexy Doc to bed, but I can’t because of our clinical relationship.

My last Force Recon mission destroyed any semblance of humanity I had left. Those little triggers go off all the time now. When I’m asleep. When I’m awake. When the memories are raw. I bolt up, at knife point again, but there’s no enemy now.

Just Veronica and me.

Veronica:
Veronica. Doctor Hartley. I told Bo to call me Ronnie like everyone else, but he refuses. He shows up like he has a cattle prod shoved up his ass and sits through the allotted hour for his counseling session impervious to every approach. He’s powerful, forceful, explosive. He doesn’t scare me.

My marine doesn’t speak, but his sharp gaze pierces me all the same. He watches me with all the greed of a hunger never sated, a need never fulfilled. A desire never explored. He stows his secrets safely away, but I’m patient. I’ll get to him if he doesn’t get to me first.

And when I have him? I’ll want him forever. I know this. But I can’t. His past might be complicated, but mine is a minefield, one that will blow up in our faces before all is said and done.

Too bad. We could be so good together.

Warning: Graphic sex, graphic action, graphic language. Triple X caution.

 ✯✯5 Insanely Hot Stars!!!✯✯

Rie Warren is on one insane roll! The men that make up the Bad Boys of Retribution MC are all big bad and scary on the outside. But, on the inside they are all sweet guys who are all fighting their own battles and demons. And, because of whatever they're fighting in their heads the guys are lonely and in desperate need of love. And, like the rest of the guys Bo is the same way.

Bo is a Marine through and through. He comes from a family of Marines. It's in his blood, sweat and tears. It's who he is. That is until his last mission. Bo's last mission ended up with his guys who he'd considered family their mission didn't end good. It ended up with them being captured, tortured, beaten and killed. Bo can't get it out of his head. Day or night it's always  on his mind. He has such PTSD he wakes at night with the sweats, he must check his house bottom to top to check for enemies and he must sit with his back against the wall. Bo would give anything to be able to switch places with one of his men that didn't make it.

Bo ended up leaving the Marine's. It is something that bothers him the most. When Bo runs into his old time buddy and fellow ex-Marine Hunter things get a little better. Hunter vouches for Bo and he's instantly patched into the Bad Boys of Retribution MC. Hunter also knows what kind of demons that Bo is going through. Hunter sets Bo up with his shrink Ronnie Hartley. Bo sets up some sessions to only then not show up.

Veronica AKA Ronnie Hartley knows how to help men and women who come home from war and dealing with PTSD. She makes it her mission to help them. And, she does it all for free. When Bo Maverick calls and sets up appointments to not show up for them. She decides to take matters into her own hands and show up at the MC clubhouse where both of them get the shock of their lives. Veronica is instantly attracted to Bo. Bo.. Well, for starters he was expecting Ronnie to be a man. Not a gorgeous Veronica.

Bo reluctantly  agrees to go for therapy. Both Bo and Veronica can see how much they effect the other one. Bo tries to use that to his advantage. Veronica as much as she is drawn to Bo will not cross the doctor-patient lines. No matter how much she tries to help him Bo doesn't make it easy. Veronica then refuses to continue to treat Bo and transfers him to another Dr that she thinks might be able to help him.

Bo starts to take his therapy more seriously with the new Dr. The fact that he doesn't fantasize about wanting to rip the new therapists clothes off and about doing everything sexual in the book to him is a major plus LOL.

It's Veronica who makes the first real move now that she's not his therapist. Even though she feels like she really could of helped Bo. They start a friendship which they both need. When Bo & Veronica let loose OMG are these 2 HOT HOT HOT!!! Man, did they have a lot of pent up stuff to let loose. Bo realizes rather quick that there is more to Veronica then she pretends to be. Veronica can go punch for punch with him. She can handle knives like a pro. Plus, Veronica sports an elaborate tattoo that resembles that of an MC. Veronica says she wants to tell him but she can't. And, she's doing it to save him.

Veronica's past comes back to take care of her once and for all. Luckily for her Bo will not give up on getting her back and safely. Bo knows it's not going to be easy and he can't do it alone. He also knows that the guys will help him get her back and safely. Here comes Hunter, Brodie, Boomer, Tuck, Cole and the rest of the MC. They've all been through this before.

This book is non-stop action. Rie definitely did her homework when it came to PTSD. Out of all the women in this spin-off series I am loving Veronica the most! Everything she did she did it for the best reasons. Even if it meant her not having contact or a relationship with someone. As long as the people were left safe or her not crossing her own moral lines. She would deal with her emotions of her actions herself. Veronica really is bad ass. Bo was also a great guy as well.  My heart broke for him with everything he went through his last mission. I hate that he put all the blame on himself and hid from the people that loved him the most.

Veronica and Bo are perfect for each other. They helped each other heal and move on.These 2 were brought into each others lives for a reason. Bo and Veronica saved each other from themselves, their dreams and from their enemies. Every story in this series is awesome and pretty much perfect. I'm so upset that there's only 1 story left in this series. But, I have to admit I been looking forward to Cole's story from 4 books ago. Knowing Rie she's saved the best for last. Cole!! And, I am fully prepared for it.

✯Blog Tour Review✯Broken Barriers (Barriers #4) by Sara Shirley

Synopsis:

Drew's story

"Dreams can heal your soul."

It was just supposed to be a “friends with benefits” type of fling. Feelings were never supposed to get in the way. Drew Daley never thought Courtney Page would be the one to change all that.

He watched her walk away to pursue her own dreams while Drew’s Marine Corps orders sent him packing for a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Something told him to never let her go; to fight for her and his country.

Can a decision from years ago make all the difference in one’s future?

Time has passed. People have changed. Lives have gone in different directions. Drew returns broken and torn after nearly eighteen months overseas and everything isn’t what it was when he left. Life after deployment isn’t nearly as easy to fit into as he thought. Until new friends and familiar faces enter his life and everything changes.

When his mind is trying to piece together all the puzzles surrounding his life, Cole Porter might just be the one to heal his broken heart and guide him in the right direction. However something about Cole is vaguely familiar to Drew. Despite what his head tells him he begins to get closer to her.

Will Drew finally be able to let his heart heal and move on?
Sometimes you have to face your dreams and fears all at once in order to recover. Otherwise you may never heal the broken pieces inside of you.

 ✯✯4 Broken Stars!!!✯✯

Sara Shirley has done it again!!! I have loved this series since the beginning. And, this book is no different. When I read Hidden Barriers I had to know about Sam's older brother Drew. He was working withe her dad at the law firm. Sam kept saying Drew had a thing for Josh's sister Courtney. I fell in love with Courtney in book one Frozen Barriers. Courtney is Josh and Jeremy's younger, adorable, caring, beautiful younger sister. She's always there for her brothers and at times you'd forget she's younger then them both. I was stoked to find out this was their story.

Drew and Courtney were only supposed to be a friends with benefits. But, anybody that's ever done that knows one of them always catches feelings. Drew had caught feelings. He fell in love with Courtney but couldn't say the words. When he on tour with the Marines he came back to find Courtney engaged. Before he left again he gave her a letter pouring his heart out to Courtney.

Drew was devastated to find out Courtney went through with getting married. Now, that he's back for good Drew doesn't know where to start or what to do. Not only is his heart broken from Courtney getting married. And, moving on from her is impossible. Courtney is his sister Sam sister-in-law. That isn't Drew's only problem. He's out of the Marine's. But, Drew is suffering from PTSD. Between the nightmares, the cold sweats and lets not talk about touching him.

Drew makes the decision to go to his parents lake house for the summer to regroup. Drew must figure out what's next for him. How is he going to move on from Courtney when wherever he looks she's there. He must figure out what he's going to do for  a job. His biggest thing to figure out. His PTSD and what/how to calm it and move forward.

While Drew is at the lake house he keeps trying to figure everything out. When Drew is out in town he becomes friends with Everett who also served in the Marines. He meets Cole who owns a bakery and is a photographer. Cole gets him to talk to Marty who also was in the service. Drew meeting Everett and ESP Marty was the best thing for Drew. Talking to them was probably the best thing for Drew.

Drew was ready to move on from Courtney. Cole was the perfect person for Drew. Both Drew and Cole were broken. Drew had lost Courtney. Cole too had lost someone bc of the service and he didn't fight for her. Cole brought out the best in Drew. They had an instant connection. And, not just  a physical one. Their emotional one was strong. Both were fighting their own head and heart while trying to help the other one heal. There was so many times these 2 had me hysterically laughing.

Cole was a very strong, compassionate, caring women. She def didn't take crap from anybody. Cole had such a hard year. But, when she looks at Drew everything changes. She can see the good in Drew even if he doesn't see it himself. Cole isn't afraid to make Drew work for it at times too. Which usually had me hysterical.

I loved seeing past characters in this book. Drew and Josh had such an awesome relationship. Josh seemed to always know what to say and not say at the right time. Sam. I still love Sam. One of my fav parts is Josh and Sam son. After one afternoon with Uncle Drew and he's screaming boobies  24/7. Then, listening to Sam going off is even more hysterical.

I really loved everything about this book. Except the end!! Man, when I tell you I hadn't hated an ending to a book in SO SO long. And, I didn't hate it because it ended with Drew not getting a HEA or not doing what I hoped or with the person I hoped. I hated it because it made no sense to me. I mean it was going great and then bam!! It was different and completely out of left field. I am not going to tell you what happened because that would be cruel. I will say it wasn't explained!! Why did it happen? What is going on to make it better? How is everyone around/involved dealing with it? Will it get better? None of it was explained. At all!! I finished and was literally left dumb founded!! But, Sara handled the PTSD brilliantly. She really did her homework on it and you can tell. I'm really upset this is the last book in the series. It was an awesome and beautiful series. I will miss the characters in it. I can't wait to what Sara writes next.

About The Author:

I think my love for books started when I was a teenager on summer vacations reading Mary Higgins Clark novels. As I grew older that turned into reading romance novels. Now, that's turned into me writing three romance novels and another on the way in the series.

In college I actually majored in Geography and concentrated in Travel & Tourism. I still love to travel constantly, but now find myself working in the world of Finance during the day and writing romance novels at night.

I was born and raised just north of Boston and currently live with my husband and cat. When I'm not running a mile a minute with work and books you can find me at a local wine tasting or out with friends at the pub doing shots of Patron. I have a weak spot for candy, Ghirardelli chocolate to be exact. I am addicted to the three "C"s. Coffee, Cheese and Carbs. I grew up with an Italian family and giving those up will never be an option.

I typically have a dirty mind and zero filter between my head and my mouth. If you are around me...good luck. I'm obsessed with hockey, Oregon football, beaches, Supernatural, Friends and stupid comedy movies. I've been called a "tall drink of water" due to my height and love for platform heels. Chances are you will not miss me if we are ever in the same room. Just look for the chick laughing hysterically, wearing heels and holding a glass of wine in her hand. That will be me.

✯✯4 Hot, Steamy Stars!!✯✯

This is my first book by Caridad Pineiro and it will not be my last. I'm usually not a fan of novellas simply because I feel like the story usually feels like it's rushed and that annoys the heck out of me. With Just One Night it definitely didn't feel rushed. Even though I wish it wasn't a novella, because I would of liked more of Jase & Nickie story. I wish I could of gotten flashbacks of them when they were growing up and just started having feelings for each other. And, how hard it was to fight off the attraction. But, after reading this I can see why Caridad is  a NY Times and USA Today Bestseller. When I was done with this I didn't feel like I was missing anything.

Nickie is heading to her brothers college graduation. She is looking forward to going for one major reason. Jase. Her brothers best friend. They all grew up together and for as long as she can remember  she's been fighting on acting on her feelings for Jace. She only has tonight to either step up and make the move. Or keep her mouth shut & go on life without him. He is a  Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps and is shipping out. Nickie isn't sure she'll ever see him again. So, for her it MUST be tonight!!

Jase has been best friends with Tommy his whole life. Their families have become like one big happily family. Tommy's family is a whole lot richer then his. But, you'd never know it. Tommy is having a huge party for their graduation. But, the only thing Jase is worried about is Nickie. He has been in love with her for as long as he can remember. But, never acted on it out of respect for his best friend. Now, that he knows he's shipping out does he act upon it?

It is obvious to anybody within 100ft of Jase & Nickie know they have feelings for each other. What nobody knows is why they have waited this long to act upon it. So, when Tommy goes up to Jase and tells him "It's time to go big or go home." Jase knows it's tonight that everything changes forever. He's just hoping it's the way he wants!

This novella was far from boring. It was hot hot hot!! I really loved Nickie & Jase. Nickie is totally not the  one night stand kind of girl. Neither is Jase. After their night they have a lot of decisions to make. Trust me. You will not be disappointed!! I am going to just put this out there for Caridad. I NEED a full length book of these two next please!!
