I met Sam Ridley in Cassia Brightmore's first book Malevolent in her Darkness series. He lost his wife the love of his life. He was able to get his revenge and take out that evil nasty bitch. Sam gave into his dark side. And, it cost him a lot. His best friend, his job, his life and almost his humanity. Now, he's getting out of jail early. Sam is not happy about this.
Sam decides to leave his hometown and move away to Tennessee and open a carpentry business. He's kind of the talk of the town. Not many people have even seen him. But, his work has proven great and his clientele is growing.
Emma Danvers wants to open her own business. But, her uncle is making it difficult for her to get what's her from her parents death. He's making her get a job and keep it for 6 months before she can get her hands of the money. Emma was livid until she saw Sam and his body. Then, she figures if she can look at him all day how bad can it be.
These 2 get into a routine. They hardly speak except business related. But, they can sense each others eyes on them all the time. Sam can hear his old best friend Brady in his head telling him it's OK to move on and fall in love. He deserves it.
Before these 2 can figure out anything out something or rather someone gets in the way. Somebody has been kidnapping, drugging and killing women in the town. Then, then there's a knock on Sam's door and it's a evil cruel sadistic bastard standing in the doorway.
This is Cassia's forth book. And, it's the fourth time I finished my book and my jaw dropped, a lot of nasty words came out of my mouth and my kindle went flying. No, I'm not kidding!! Cassia may be beautiful and a sweetheart BUT her mind is one evil nasty scary thing. I'm kinda glad she lives so far away Bc I'd hate for her to get mad at me. I'd be scared for my life. I loved this and can't wait to see what happens in Lincoln Hospital.
