Want something to read while you wait? The first two standalone books in the Bennet Brothers series are both LIVE!

Everyone hates parts of their job.

Maybe it’s the paperwork. Maybe it’s the day-to-day grind. Maybe it’s that client who never knows what they want, or the guy who always cooks fish in the microwave.

But not me. I love every corner of the Longbourne Flower Shop, every flower, every petal, every stem. I love the greenhouse, and I love Mrs. Bennet, my boss. I love creating, and I love being a florist. I don’t hate anything at all.

Except for Luke Bennet.

The Bennet brothers have come home to help their mom save the flower shop, and Luke is at the helm. His smile tells a tale of lust, loose and easy. He moves with the grace of a predator, feral and wild. A thing unbridled, without rules or constraint. When he comes home to save Longbourne, I almost can’t be mad at him. Almost.

He doesn’t remember that night I’ll never forget. That kiss, touched with whiskey and fire. It branded me like a red-hot iron. But it meant nothing to him.

Everyone hates part of their job, and I hate Luke Bennet.

Because if I don’t, I’ll fall in love with him.

They say there’s no such thing as perfect.

But I’ve built my life to perfection—the perfect boyfriend, the perfect apartment, the perfect career planning celebrity weddings. My job—my only job—is to make sure every event is absolutely and completely perfect.

What’s not perfect? Kash Bennet.

And I wish I didn’t find that so appealing.

I could have told you every perfectly imperfect thing about the gardener at Longbourne. Like his hair, lush and black and far too long. Or his nose, the flat bridge of a Greek god, bent a little like it’s been broken. Or his size. Beastly. Roped and corded with muscles, gleaming with sweat and peppered with dirt. There’s no escaping him, not if I’m going to use his family’s flower shop for my events.

But nothing is what it seems. And in the span of a heartbeat, my perfect life is turned inside out. They say the best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody new. When Kash offers his services to the cause, it sounds like the perfect plan.

What’s not part of the plan? Falling in love with the gardener.

But they were right—there’s no such thing as perfect.

And I’m the fool who finds out the hard way.

EXCERPT
(unedited and subject to change)

“What are you thinking?”
“Nothing.” He shakes his head and reaches out, placing a hand on my waist. His touch is gentle as he tugs me closer until I stand between the halo of his arms. With his other hand he cups the right side of my cheek. “Why do you feel like a dream?”
“A dream? I’m more like a nightmare.”
He tosses his head back, his Adam’s apple bobbing with laughter.
When he stops, his teeth dig into his bottom lip while his eyes bore into me. He looks like he wants to say something, but holds the words inside.
Tell me, Lachlan, I silently beg. Give me all your thoughts, your words, your fears, dreams and ambitions. Give it all to me. I’ll cherish it, I promise.
He swallows and instead takes my hand, tugging me into the living room.
Zeppelin lifts his mighty head, watching us from the floor as Lachlan sinks onto the couch and pulls me down with him, fitting my small frame between his legs so I collapse on top of him with my front to his. The dog settles back down, clearly used to my presence now.
I cross my hands on his chest and rest my chin on them. Blinking up at him I wait for him to do or say something. He stares right back at me. I wonder what he sees when he looks at me.
Do I look as broken as I feel most of the time? Does he see the hopelessness beginning to fade from my eyes? Is it plastered all over my face how fucking enamored I am with him?
“You know,” he begins, clearing his throat, “when I figured you’d show up yesterday, I told myself to tell you that you had to go back home, that you couldn’t be here with me. But then, I opened the door and saw you. All those words … they no longer existed. When it comes to you, I’m incapable of common sense. I don’t understand it, but I think … I think I’m tired of fighting. I think about you when I shouldn’t, I have dreams of you that are immoral, I worry about you, I wonder what you’re thinking, and more than anything I want to make everything better for you and I’m so fucking torn up inside because I’m terrified I never can.”
He rubs his thumb over my cheek. I’m not even sure he realizes he’s doing it.
“You already are.”
His blue eyes lighten at the same time he smiles—and that smile?
It’s like a brand across my heart, a fiery piercing feeling as he signs his name across it in ownership.
He doesn’t even realize it, but it belongs to him.

The entire world failed him.
At seventeen, Ramsey was convicted of killing the boy who assaulted me.

 ✯✯5 Second Chance Stars!!!✯✯

Aly Aly Aly Aly!!!!! I’m in love with Aly’s stories. I wish I could get inside of her head. Even for just a limited time lol.

The day Thea lost her mom was the worst day of her life. First her mom passed away, while sitting under her favorite tree she met Ramsey. Less then ten minutes later he fell on her and broke her ankle. Thea didn’t think things could worse. Until a few years later.

Thea couldn’t stand Ramsey when she first met him. She tried her hardest to get him to just go away. Until she realized she didn’t want him to go anywhere.

The day Ramsey’s mom walked out and left him and his younger sister was the worst day of his life. While sitting in a tree contemplating ending things he sees this girl running toward the same tree he’s in.

Instantly Ramsey feels a connection to her but not ten minutes later he falls and breaks her ankle. Ramsey wants to help Thea and protect her even though she tries pushing him away, until she doesn’t.

Ramsey and Thea went from strangers to friends to lovers and almost instantly to being pulled away and not by choice.

What was supposed to be the best night of their life was by far the worst. Ramsey’s thrown in jail for twelve years. The only contract Thea has had from Ramsey was a letter telling her to move on. No matter how many letters she sent she never got a reply.

Thea never gives up hope that when Ramsey gets out of prison they’ll be able to get their second chance. Except Ramsey is pissed and let’s Thea know it’s not gunna happen. Thea refuses to give up on Ramsey and on them and will fight for them.

Woah!! I read this in one sitting. Their story was heartbreaking, beautiful and had everything you’d want in a story.

Ramsey loved his sister and Thea more then anything. He’d do anything and everything to protect them. Including going to jail for the rest of his life.

Thea is in my top 5 favorite heroine’s of 2019!! She fought for everybody she cares about. Even when being blindsided she still cares about others more than herself.

Talk about a story that’ll rip at your heartstrings. That has twist and turns and bombs dropped that you’ll never see coming. This story has it all and then some. I legit am antsy waiting for Aly’s next release.

Excerpt
It was funny. I’d spent almost half my life surrounded by the biggest, baddest criminals the state of Georgia had been able to capture. Yet, I was terrified of a five-foot-five woman who for some asinine reason was still in love with me. I couldn’t be around her. Not if I wanted to keep my head straight and my eye on the prize. I had three years before I got off parole. I needed to get a job, tuck away some cash, and, the second I was allowed to leave Georgia, get the hell out of there. Maybe, if I was lucky, I’d be able to convince my sister to come with me. We didn’t have to go far. We could stay in the south if she wanted. South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee—there were schools everywhere. Nora wouldn’t have trouble finding a job. The hardest part would be convincing her to leave Thea. However, maybe if she did, Thea would finally move on with her life and stop obsessing about me. I’d known they lived together for a while. I didn’t want anything to do with Thea while I was locked up, but I was happy as hell Nora had someone to lean on. I had been under the impression that Nora had gotten her own place when she found out about my release. I had been under that impression because Nora had straight-up told me she was getting her own place after I’d declared there was no way I was living with Thea. Now, I was hiding in my room, waiting for Nora to wake up, open my door, and escort me to breakfast like a damn bodyguard so I could avoid confrontation. Next up in my efforts to kill time was a workout. Sit ups, push-ups, planks, running in place. This was when I realized Nora hadn’t bought me any deodorant. Another shower. Another naked lap around the bedroom, and this time, I managed to keep my hands off my cock. Finally, I got dressed. This required me to pick through a bunch of preppy shit Nora had bought for me to find tattered jeans and a fitted green tee that clung to my chest like a damn glove. In my closet, I found a belt and a pair of distressed brown lace-up boots that maybe could have doubled as combat boots if the war was taking place on a runway. But what the hell did I know about style? I’d been wearing orange or puke beige for almost half my life. When I was done with all of that and there was still no sign of Nora, I sat on the edge of the bed and decided to give the phone thing a try. I wasn’t totally out of the technology loop. We had computers at the library and we were allowed to use them if we earned the privileges. But they might as well have been dinosaurs compared to the phone she’d bought me. I couldn’t even get it to read my face with the fancy secret laser thing. I gave up trying pretty quickly. So there I was, bored out of my mind, starving, and poking at my newfound wrinkles in the bathroom mirror, when I heard a knock at my door. “Ramsey?” I froze, my eyes locked on the mirror, panic staring back at me. Thea. Jesus. I needed to find somewhere else to live. Leaning out of the bathroom, I stared at the door. If I was super quiet, maybe she’d think I was still asleep and go the hell away. When I didn’t reply, she knocked again. Her voice was timid and sweet, not at all like the fearless girl I’d grown up with. I hated it. “Ramsey? You hungry? I’m making breakfast? I was wondering if you wanted something?” Everything from my name to the fact that she was making breakfast was a question, as if maybe she was asking permission to cook in her own house. My stomach was currently feasting on my backbone. Still, I said nothing. She sighed. “Okay. Well, if you change your—” There were several seconds of silence. I quirked my eyebrow at the door, trying to figure out why she’d abruptly stopped talking, and then cursed my inability to develop x-ray vision. I held my breath, hoping to hear her footsteps as she walked away. No. Such. Fucking. Luck. The door swung open and she came walking inside with her hands stacked over her eyes. “Look, I know you’re awake. I heard you running earlier. I also heard you take at least three showers. Sorry, but the house isn’t that big. Neither is the hot water heater. Are you at least dressed so I can open my eyes?” Brave. Unapologetic. And completely oblivious to boundaries. Now that was the Thea I knew. “Get out,” I barked. “Dressed? Not dressed? Help me out here?” “Get. Out.” She kept her eyes closed. “You gotta eat, Ramsey. You can’t stay locked up in this room forever.” I wanted to tell her to get the hell out again. Honestly, it was on the tip of my tongue. But it never made it past my lips because my traitorous eyes stole a head-to-toe of her lithe body. She was barefoot, wearing jeans—tight ones that tapered at her ankle. They looked like mine in the sense that they had a rip in the knee. They didn’t look like mine in the sense that they hugged the curve of her hips and more than likely her ass too. A pink tank top stretched across her chest, and I swear on my life, fuck x-ray vision because I could see the pebble of her nipples beneath the fabric. It wasn’t a ridiculous dress. It wasn’t stupid fucking heels. She wasn’t wearing a face full of clown makeup. She was just Thea. The nostalgia pumped through my veins like acid even as my cock stirred. Fuck, I should have jerked off again in the shower. “I’m dressed,” I bit out, desperate for her to put her damn hands down and maybe use them to cover her tits instead. Her long, brown lashes fluttered as she opened her eyes. Those fucking eyes had once owned me. As a huge smile lit her face, I felt the claim all over again. “Oh, look, you chose one of the outfits I picked out for you.” Of course I had. Of fucking course. As soon as I got her out of my room, I was going to take the outfit off and light it on fire.

Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and olives. College parties, beer, and one-night stands—that was my life. Now, I hunt down criminals, ethically or not, but if no one’s asking, then I’m not telling. Drinking and women are still included, though I can’t seem to forget the girl who almost gave me her virginity. She would’ve until I realized she was too young, and I wasn’t looking to get thrown into jail.

In a twist of fate, we’re reunited, except she’s no longer underage but still equally off-limits.
After ignoring her relentless advances, she starts to wear me down. I only have so much willpower when she’s around, running her smart mouth and showing off her impeccable dance moves.

Just when my restraint starts to crumble, my poor choices finally catch up with me, putting us both in danger.
There’s no easy way to explain why I betrayed her, but I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe—even if it means breaking her heart.

ALWAYS MINE is a slow-burn, intense romance wrapped up in a suspenseful beautiful love story. It's book 1 in the Liam & Madelyn duet and must be read first.

✯✯5 Hulk Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Yass!!! Kennedy Fox I bow down to y’all. Legit I’m on my knees. These two makeup a power author. Every couple, every story is different, heart pounding, nail biting and swoon worthy.  When Truly Yours ended I was WTFing my kindle. I said “Liam you have some major explaining to do!!”

Like the two previous couples Maddie and Liam had an interesting first meeting. They weren’t introduced when Lennon met Brandon.

Nope!!! They met one night in Utah when then 17yr old Maddie snuck out to go to a party and met Liam. Their chemistry was kaboom from the initial meeting. When Liam finds out Maddie won’t be 18 for another six months he looses it and rightfully so.

When they meet a year later they agree to pretend that night never happened. Liam knows Lennon and Sophie will kill him. That doesn’t stop Maddie from trying every chance she can get to get underneath him every chance.

Maddie is the youngest daughter to a pastor. Out of the three of them she’s definitely the wilder one. Not afraid to speak her mind. Her sisters definitely try keeping her on the straight road.

Maddie will do anything to veer right and jump into Liam’s truck. Ever since she first met him she’s wanted him. It’s been years and he keeps her at arms length. He might act like he hates her. But, Maddie sees right thru his act. Just when Maddie sees the light at the long dark tunnel, Liam comes home married and Maddie is stunned.

Liam is protective of those he cares about. His friends are his family. Liam doesn’t do relationships. His job is stressful, he travels a lot, the hours are long. He knew the minute he laid eyes on Maddie she was a gift and he’d never ruin her.

Liam is very protective of Maddie. He’ll always be there if she needs anything. Liam wants Maddie to think he hates her bc it’s hard for him to be around her bc she wants to give herself to him and he doesn’t think he’s a good enough man for her.

Liam finds himself caught up in a messy situation with some dangerous people. Liam tries getting himself out of it and he can’t figure out why. When things take a dangerous turn Liam scrambles to protect those closest to him. That means lying and hurting the one he loves to most...Maddie. Liam hopes one day she’ll forgive him.

I could not put this down!!!! Liam and Maddie are so so so hot. I swear their chemistry alone is so sizzling hot I think they got me pregnant lol.

Talk about a tug of war full of emotions. Maddie knew exactly what she wanted. Liam... she’d give everything just to have Liam. And, Maddie is one patient women I’ll tell you. She’d wait for as long as he needed to before he saw what was in front of him.

Any other book I’d probably hate Liam for the way things went. I 100000% get why things were they way they went in the beginning. She was 17 and Liam can’t go from throwing people in jail to wearing the orange jumpsuit lol.

But, he obv cared about her and couldn’t figure out why he didn’t jump in head first. They might as well been dating with how much time they spent together. His feelings for her always showed.

In the end Maddie was the one Liam spilled his guts too. Maddie totally handled it a million times better then most women would. They really are a great match. If they ever get to a point where they’re actually a match.

✯Release Review✯Far from Home (Far Series #1) by Kate L. Mary

Title: Far From Home
Author: Kate L Mary
Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Zombie

As the only child in an upper-middle class family, Rowan has had it easy. Doted on by a mother who never wanted anything but a child to love, she's never wanted for anything. Kiaya’s life, however, has been anything but easy. When a deadly virus sweeps the country, Rowan and Kiaya are away at college and far from everything they love. Desperate to make it home, they team up, but as the world around them dies, an unexpected detour leaves them stranded in Vega, Texas where they make a shocking discovery. The virus isn’t just killing people. It’s changing them.
When former cop, Devon, sweeps in to save the day, it looks like their luck has shifted. With hundreds of miles left to cross and the dead taking over, the trio is determined to do whatever it takes to get home. Traveling historic Route 66, Rowan, Kiaya, and Devon fight for survival as they struggle to come to terms with their changing world.

✯✯5 Zombie Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Woohoo Kate L. Mary is headed back into the zombie apocalypse world!!! I read her Oklahoma Wastelands and I’m kicking myself for not knowing about her Broken World Series until after it was finished.

Rowan is away for college. She was adopted and her parents are very involved in her life, ESP her mom. Which is why she chose a college so far away.

There’s a deadly virus spreading across the U.S and people are dropping like flies. Rowan just wants to go home and be with her parents even though they’ve told her to stay there bc it’s safer. Rowan decides to take matters into her own hands.

Rowan gets cleared for traveling. Then she meets Kiaya and Kyle and together they start their travel home.  Kiaya’s very quiet and Kyle seems to be the talkative one. Until he starts getting sick and they’re forced to pullover in Vega, Texas and get a hotel room.

Almost instantly Rowan meets Devon and she def doesn’t want anything to do with him. Rowan and Kiaya take turns looking after Kyle until he passes away.

Rowan gets some helpful information from a stranger and it gets her thinking things are definitely going to get worse before they get better. It’s a matter of survival of the fittest.

Before they can gather supplies and get outta there they learn the dead are coming back from the dead as zombies. Luckily for them Devon was there just in time.

They’re three strangers trying to survive. They agree to travel together. The plan is go get Kiaya’s younger sister and go to Rowan’s house and then they’ll figure out what’s next afterwards.

Getting to the endpoint is proving harder then they ever thought possible. Who can they trust on their travels.

OMG!!! I’ve read a decent amount of apocalypse and zombie books. Every book it’s happened awhile ago, some their entire lives. This is entirely different then every book I’ve read!!

You see the first zombies along with Kiaya and Rowan. See how they go from doing things by the book to “stealing” supplies. Learning just how to survive and to trust complete strangers.

Kate L. Mary did such an amazing job writing this story. She has such an amazing way of writing that you find yourself wanting to be friends with the characters. Which is crazy bc they’re fighting zombies but Kate’s just that good of an author.

I read it in one day bc I was hooked from page one to the ending. By the last chapter I was crying right along with Rowan. I’m invested in Kiaya, Devon, Rowan and their friends getting their HEA. I hope book two releases soon bc I’m dying to know what happens next.
