From an award-winning author and master of world building comes the thrilling third book in the Moonchild series, featuring a future fueled by greed and corruption, where airships rule the skies and coal mines have been turned into prisons…
Nearly a year after Asher Kimura swooped into Athens and saved Scarlett and her friends, the group has settled into a routine that almost feels like a real life. But when an altercation on the street turns deadly, they’re forced to head out west to lay low until things have settled down.
After a lifetime in the polluted world the Luddites have created, Scarlett is looking forward to seeing the sun in all its splendor for the very first time. Too bad the heat, dust, and utter lawlessness of the west leave a lot to be desired. But she’s determined to enjoy both her time with Asher and the break from the constant threat of living in Columbus.
It doesn’t take long for the group to realize that corruption knows no borders. Drugs, slavery, and forced prostitution are only the tip of the iceberg when Asher comes face to face with the demons from his past, leaving Scarlett to wonder if he’ll make it out in one piece.
With new characters and a fresh setting, the past meets the future in the exciting third book in the Moonchild series. Readers rave about the “captivating setting, riveting plot, and heart-pounding action” in the Moonchild series, calling it a “much needed breath of fresh air in the world of YA fantasy.”

✯✯5 Redeeming Stars!!!✯✯

This is the third book in Kate L. Mary’s Moonchild Series and it was just as action packed and nonstop action as the first two. We learn so much more about Asher in this book and meet even more people that we had previously.

It’s been a year since Asher rescued Scarlett and her friends in Athens and they’ve been living in Columbus. Scarlett has given into her feeling for Asher, her and Paget have squashed their beef and are slowly becoming friends, Rory’s about to become a mom and Scarlett finally considers Columbus home. Which shocks her as much as it does everyone else.

When Scarlett is propositioned by Layla she’s put in a tough position. Layla wants Scarlett to take her to the bar they all go too bc Dex won’t take her. She loves Dex and wants to prove she can live in his pirate life. Scarlett reluctantly agrees hoping she won’t get into too much trouble later.

After Scarlett and Layla are attacked and they have to defend themselves, Layla’s life will never be the same. Her face was scanned and now she’s on the wanted posters. Scarlett feels terrible and Dex isn’t going easy on her. Asher comes up with a solution for the moment.

Asher and Rock have a friend named Cullen out west whose always asking them to come visit. It’s perfect place for Layla to lay low for awhile. Jack agrees and on their way they go.

When they get out West things aren’t lining up. If Scarlett thought the sun and the heat was her only problem she was wrong. Cullen def tricked Asher on coming.

Cullen needs help and he knows the best guy to help him is Asher. A hotshot from Columbus has come and buying up all the businesses. There’s more and more people addicted to drugs and people going missing. There’s definitely something wrong.

Asher and Scarlett go home looking to get backup. Keith introduces them to Creed, who agrees to help and bring twenty other people. Asher is all for it and Scarlett has her guard up until otherwise.

Scarlett, Asher, Creed and Cullen all go investigate what is going on and things were worse than they originally thought.

Asher’s past is not in the past anymore. When Asher, Scarlett and their friends shut down the auctions they thought things would calm down. But, Asher is now face to face with something he thought was done. The pits. Where boys are sold, then taught to fight and put into the pit to fight. If you die you loose and the boy still standing wins.

Asher might’ve escaped but the pits have never left him. Asher’s on a mission to safe everybody being held against their will, destroy the pit and kill everybody involved. It’ll be his Retribution.

Scarlett’s never seen this side of Asher before. He’s so conflicted but as long as he’s got Scarlett next to him he knows he’ll survive. There’s also Creed whose got a story as well that has him invested in taking out the pits for good.

Scarlett also can’t forget about Blake. Asher’s father. The guy who sent her to the mines and has some sick fascination with Scarlett.

I flew through this story. Like the first two books once I started I couldn’t put it down till I finished. Asher and Scarlett are still amazing together. They’re there for each other regardless of what’s going around them. They don’t run off if one has an attitude about something. When Scarlett finally tells Dex and Asher the entire story about her past with Blake. Asher was there, never leaving her side.

Even with all the darkness surrounding them and their friends they put each other first. Creed had me worried for most of this book. I definitely wasn’t expecting what his backstory was going to be.

I can’t wait for the next part of this story. After everything Scarlett, Asher and their friends went through they deserve to be able to breathe and not have to look over their shoulders 24/7. I’m hoping Blake gets what he deserves and that Scarlett and Asher getting the revenge they are overdue  for!!!

Kate L. Mary has such an amazing imagination. I want in her head even for just a little while. She writes stories that I want to see on the big screen. Even though I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to see this be real, I’d hope I’d be as brave as the women she writes and find a guy as amazing as the ones she finds.  As usual I’m extremely excited for her next release.

✯Release Review✯Tribe of Daughters by Kate L.Mary

Title: Tribe of Daughters
Author: Kate L Mary
Genre: Adult Dystopian
Publisher: Twisted Press
Editor: Lori Whitwam
Publication Date: January 3rd, 2018 Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:
For the past seventy years, deep in the mountains and totally secluded from civilization, a matriarchal society has thrived. In this small village there are no brothers, no fathers, no sons. In this village men exist only to serve the women, and boys have no mothers. In this village men do as they are told and defiance is severely punished.
This is the only Life Wilderness has ever known, but when Jameson is brought in from the outside to be her husband, everything she thought she knew about strength and love is tested. As they struggle to find their place in the village, they suddenly find themselves face to face with outsiders who threaten to destroy everything they love, and it doesn’t take long to realize that they will have to work together, men and women alike, if they want to survive.

✯✯4 Wild Jameson Filled Stars!!! ✯✯

Talk about crazy!!! If you’re looking for a book with a storyline that you’ve never read before, then stop because Tribe of Daughters is that book.

Women are on top of the food chain in this village. When the plague hit seventy years ago life as everyone knew was over.

Wilderness’s ancestors were held against their will and were beaten, tortured and everything else you can imagine. When they were able to escape they moved into the mountains secluded and have survived since. They swore to never let a man hurt them again.

The women and men live separate from each other in this village. Men are used for certain things. They’re not allowed in the women’s part without permission. These women will do anything to stay strong.

In order to keep strong they don’t crossbreed. Once every five years the warriors go out and bring back a few strong, healthy men to be wed by the next set of women.

The women of this tribes job is to give birth to the next generation of strong women. If they give birth to boys they keep them until they can be weened and then sent to live with the other men. But, they’re not called man, son or brother. If they’re born there in the village they’re known as yielding and if they’re an outsider they’re a foundling.

Wilderness is getting her husband at this gleaning. Wilderness has a lot on her shoulders. Wilderness is the next High Elder after her mom Raven. Like Wilderness, her mom married a foundling, Zachariah. Like Raven, Wilderness will be expected to teach her husband the ways of their village.

Jameson went from sleeping in his tent to being captured and brought to a village where the women are in charge. He can’t believe the men agree to living this way. Jameson finds solace in Zachariah who was also an outsider AKA foundling. Jameson doesn’t know how Zachariah lives with his children not knowing exactly who he is to them. The other guys that were brought in with Jameson will do anything to get away. But, Jameson isn’t so sure.

This is still new for Jameson and Wilderness. Unlike the other women Wilderness wants to be around Jameson all the time. He starts to open her eyes to things other then what she’d grown up being taught.  Things that the other wives do Wilderness doesn’t agree with.

Once Wilderness and Jameson were married everything the women and men in this village knew and lived by were about to change. Everything was about to either get really bad for everybody or change them for the better.

Wilderness I really liked from the beginning. She wasn’t afraid to listen to her gut when it came to Jameson. I just wished she spoke up to her mom more often.

Jameson I loved!!! He knew what the women were doing was wrong but he understood why they were the way they were. He spoke to Wilderness and showed her things could be so different. He knew he was in love with her and he knew when they had their own children he couldn’t standby and pretend they didn’t mean anything to him. But, for Wilderness he’d do anything she’d wanted.

This is unlike anything I’ve ever read and I read a lot! Kate L. Mary is an author I love to read bc everything she writes is different and so entertaining I don’t want to put my kindle down. I’m looking forward to her next release!

✯Review✯Outliers (The Outliers #1) by Kate L. Mary

Blurb

In the dusty ruins of the world, three groups exist: the Sovereign, the Fortis, and the Outliers. Within their walled city, exclusive access to the only remaining technology gives the Sovereign an advantage that seems impossible to beat. In exchange for meager scraps and free reign outside the walls, they use the brawn of the Fortis to their advantage while the Outliers struggle to survive. Living on land that has not healed from the poison of the past, and surrounded by dangers too numerous to count, the Outliers have adapted - but to the Sovereign and the Fortis, they are nothing.

Indra is an Outlier. Each day she braves the wastelands, making the dangerous journey from the wilds where she lives to the City so she can serve the Sovereign in order to give her family a better life. Inside the walls, she has no rights and no freedom. Not only is she powerless to resist the Sovereign’s harsh rule, but she is also unable to do anything to save her people from the brutality of the Fortis. For centuries they have made their abuse of Outliers a sport, but when Asa comes to Indra’s rescue, she sees something different in him. Something that marks him as so much more than just a Fortis guard.

But as Indra’s world begins to unravel, even the quiet alliance she has formed with Asa cannot save her from the wrath of the Sovereign. In one life-altering moment, everything Indra has ever known is ripped away, forcing her to face a world even more harsh and unforgiving. Broken and scarred, Indra finds herself on a journey that will challenge everything she’s ever been taught, learning along the way that she’s stronger than she ever imagined. Maybe even strong enough to free her people forever.

✯✯5 Indra Strong Stars!!!✯✯

Kate L Mary has given us the start of an amazing new post-apocalyptic world. The world is left with three different groups of people. The top is the Sovereign and they are sitting pretty. You have the Fortis. They're big and strong and they're the Sovereign's muscle. As long as they keep the Outliers in line the Sovereign give them things like electric and running water. At the bottom with  twice the people then the Sovereign & Fortis put together is the Outliers. The Outliers are spread out and form four tribes.

Indra is part of the Winta tribe. She works for house of Saffron. Indra and her friend Mira must walk thru the wastelands past the Lygan Cliffs thru Fortis and Sovereign city everyday.

Indra has worked at her job for a few years. The Outliers only get their jobs passed down from family members. She got her a few years ago when her mom was too sick and weak to do it anymore.

The only thing they receive for their work is food that can’t grow in the wastelands where they live and some medicine for her mom.

Indra has been chased for years by Brodi. Indra finally realizes she’s in love and they marry in their tribes wedding ceremony. They get into a routine. When Indra isn’t working Bodhi takes her into the woods. While men in their village don’t believe women belong hunting and providing. Bodhi wants her to know how to survive if something were to happen to him.

Indra continues working in the city. But, the Sovereign are changing how things are done. Of course making the Outliers lives harder and harder. Luckily for Indra there’s Asa. He’s not like the rest of the Fortis people. He stands up for Indra and her friend Mira.

As weird as it is Indra and Asa end up friends. They don’t interact much. But, they respect each other. Even though Indra loves her husband, Asa makes her feel things she’s not sure how to take.

One day when Asa isn’t at work things don’t go well for Indra. Her life as well as everybody she cares about changes. Nobody is the same from that day forward.

I’m hoping this is the start of an amazing story. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down. There’s so many storylines that can be told it’s amazing!!! I can’t wait for more of Indra. She’s my favorite leading lady that I have read this year. Kate L Mary has definitely started another what looks to be one of my favorite series! Can’t wait for book two

✯Blog Tour Review✯ Branded (Sinners #1) by Abi Ketner & Missy Kalicicki

Branded by Abi Ketner & Missy Kalicicki
A Sinners Series

Fifty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadly sins were the downfall of society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best.
Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.

Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.

Now every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win.

The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me.
I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

Excerpt~

I turn on the faucet for a long while only to discover ice-cold water rushing out. The water never warms and I begin to understand. The Commander thinks he can wash away my soul by freezing me to death. He thinks he can destroy me by stripping away my possessions. But he can’t and I won’t let him take my memories, my ambition, and my pride.
He thinks I’m so easily broken.
The Commander doesn’t know anything about me, what I grew up with, what I endured—the father I lost, the mother I hate, the brother who walked out of my life, and the stepfather I was forced to accept. He thinks since I was rich, making me poor will cause me to give up. What he doesn’t understand is that, after my father passed away, I grew up behind walls of hatred. I had nothing, but had everything at the same time. I owned expensive clothes, enjoyed good schooling, and lived in a nice home. But my body was just a shell protecting an empty, desperate heart. My life was a colorful façade.
I had so much time to sit and think. I spent the majority of my life between four walls. I was abandoned, neglected, starved, betrayed, and abused. I’ve already been treated like the scum of the earth, so the Hole is nothing new. He wants to erase every sign of my existence on this earth, but I won’t let that happen. He can strip me naked, but he’ll never reach my soul.
It’s personal, completely personal.

✯✯5 INSANELY  HUGE STARS!!✯✯

"Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I've been accused of a crime I didn't commit and now the Hole is my new home."

I'm going to start off with I am extremely, extremely happy I decided to read this book!! I have been reading  a lot of romance lately and was desperately in need of a change. 'Branded' was totally what I needed and way, way more. My emotions were all over the place while I read this.

The book is post World War V. There is No Judge. There is No Jury. There is NO innocent until proven guilty. There is The Commander and The Hole!! And, you literally have No voice. It's his way or no way. If you say anything against him. You get killed. If you get accused you get Branded with a metal  collar that gets tightened around your neck. It burns you with one of the

7 Accused Sins:
Pride - Purple
Wrath -Red
Greed - Yellow
Gluttony - Orange
Envy - Green
Sloth - Black
Lust - Blue

"To the outside, I'm filth now. I'll never be allowed to return to the life I knew. No one ever does."

Lexi has been falsely accused & branded with lust. She learns quickly her guard will be Cole. As they make their way to her new "home" she can not believe what she is seeing. They are literally driving over dead people. People see the blue mark on her neck and they're trying to yank her out of the Jeep just to get a piece of her. The are starving. Fighting to survive. It is literally unlike anything she has ever seen.

Lexi gets to her room to find out Cole's room is attached to hers. He will literally be watching everything., She can't go to the bathroom, take a shower without privacy. Lexi finds out she will be working at the hospital. There's too many in The Hole & not enough Doctors, supplies or medicine to help the sinners. So, basically everyone working at the hospital is there to watch the people die.

"You think your brand bothers me? You think I can't see past the person they've labeled you to be?"

Lexi is super, super strong. She literally does not let anything or anyone break her!! I would totally be branded green with envy. Because, I couldn't survive.

During Lexi time in the hole her and Cole are together almost 24/7. The only time they aren't together is when she's working at the hospital and he's out training. While she's at work she is under Dr. Sutton AKA Sutton. He really takes Lexi under his wing. She also becomes close with a young girl named Alyssa.  Alyssa is dying from a virus that has no cure other then death. Lexi tries to help her anyway she can. Cole see's how much Lexi cares about Alyssa. He even helps her help Alyssa. I'm not going to give it away. I will tell you it was really the 1st time we see Cole's sensitive side. He's not like the rest of the guards.

Over time Cole starts seeing Lexi as a person and not by her brand. He realizes she didn't do what she was accused of. They start a friendship. Which causes other feelings to develop. The problem? If The Commander finds out. They will be brutally murdered in front of everyone in The Hole. They have to find out how to hate in public.

I love Cole & Lexi!! They care for each other so deeply. Both are totally confused on what to do next. Because, they are forbidden to be together. I love watching their relationship grow.

"I think dying is easier compared to living here.”

While Lexi is at work she gets assaulted pretty bad. Ends up with a lot of stitches in her head & needs to be on strict bed rest. Sutton & Cole get the only person they can trust, Bruno. While Cole goes to training, Bruno is on Lexi duty. I love Bruno. Bruno & Lexi develop a friendly relationship rather quickly. He starts teaching her basic fighting skills on how to defend herself.

Cole gets called away for a mission that could ruin everything between him & Lexi. There has been a lot of bombings, explosions going on. There is totally a revolt going on. Now, Cole must go find the person behind them. Keegan. Lexi's older brother!! Cole doesn't know what to do. Lexi has made him feel things he never knew was possible.

"Everything about you sucks me in. No matter how hard I try to hate you or be disgusted, the opposite happens. You're like my magnet. You pull me in, but when I get to close it takes everything I have to remain at a safe distantie."

Then, Sutton tells her he is sending her to Keegan. It totally makes her head spin. How does Sutton know Keegan and her dad before he got killed??Now, Cole & Bruno are on a new more dangerous mission. Get Lexi to Keegan without all of them getting killed in the process!!

You will not be disappointed at all!! Every time I turned around my jaw dropped. You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time you read this!! I can not wait for book 2. Esp since everything you got in this book. From hate, rape, death, starving people, explosions, violence. To friendships from the last place you thought. Love & trust. It was all there!!

"You can overcome anything...short of death."

About Abi and Missy

Abi and Missy met in the summer of 1999 at college orientation and have been best friends ever since. After college, they added jobs, husbands and kids to their lives, but they still found time for their friendship. Instead of hanging out on weekends, they went to dinner once a month and reviewed books. What started out as an enjoyable hobby has now become an incredible adventure.
