✯Release Review w/Giveaway✯Show Me the Way (Fight for Me #1) by A.L. Jackson

Show Me the Way

The first stand-alone novel in A.L. Jackson's brand-new Fight for Me series...

"This book is absolutely perfect.” - Corinne Michaels, New York Times Bestselling Author

READ FOR FREE ON KINDLE UNLIMITED

The first sexy, captivating, stand-alone novel in the brand-new FIGHT FOR ME series from NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson . . .
Rex Gunner. As bitter as he is beautiful.
The owner of the largest construction company in Gingham Lakes has been burned one too many times. His wife leaving him to raise their daughter was the last blow this single dad could take. The only woman he’ll let into his heart is his little girl.
Rynna Dayne. As vulnerable as she is tempting.
She ran from Gingham Lakes when she was seventeen. She swore to herself she would never return. Then her grandmother passed away and left her the deed to the diner that she once loved.
When Rex meets his new neighbor, he knows he’s in trouble.
She’s gorgeous and sweet and everything he can’t trust.
Until she becomes the one thing he can’t resist.
One kiss sends them tumbling toward ecstasy.
But in a town this size, pasts are bound to collide. Caught in a web of lies, betrayal, and disloyalty, Rex must make a choice.
Will he hide behind his walls or will he take the chance . . .

✯✯5 Little Thieves Stars!!!✯✯

I legit LOVED Al Jackson's Bleeding Stars series. I didn't know how I was going to feel going into this brand new story and beginning of her brand new series. But, Rex Gunner is unlike any guy I've ever read. I was hooked from page one until the last.

Rynna left her hometown right before graduation and vowed to never return. Years later she is packed up and driving back. Rynna's kicking herself bc she's comeback too late. Her grandma has passed away and left Rynna her restaurant Pepper's Pies. Rynna is hoping and praying the reasons why she ran all those years ago aren't still there.

Rex is a hard man. His outer core is made of steel. The only person that owns his heart and makes him genuinely smile is his 4yr old daughter Frankie Leigh. When her mother walked out on them 3yrs before that out of the blue without a word Rex blamed himself. But, when Rynna moves in across the street something happens to him.

No matter how mean Rex is to Rynna she still continues to shock him. Rex isn't the only one scarred from his past. Rynna's past haunts her. Luckily she's always had her grandma's words and is still finding them everyday somewhere in her house. These two have the potential of saving each other. They just have to be open to letting the other one into their hearts, head and lives.

This book was beautifully written. From beginning to end. I ESP loved how Rynna's childhood was written into the story. Both her grandmother and Frankie Leigh were prob my favorite aside from Rex and Rynna. There was one person I loathed and thats being nice. But, karma well karma's karma lol.

I'm looking forward to the next 2 books. I think Ollie's story will make me cry. Man, the next book can't come fast enough!!

✯Release Review✯When Angels Seek Chaos (DePalma Family #1)by Addison Jane

Title: When Angels Seek Chaos
Author: Addison Jane
Genre: Romantic Suspense/Mafia Romance
 Release Date: August 16, 2017

Blurb

Angelo Moretti was a man I should have stayed far away from.
When my world was torn apart before my eyes, and I was left vulnerable and damaged, he was sent to protect me.
He was hard.
He was patronizing.
And he was the most beautiful man I’d ever met.
Every bone in my body told me to hate him, to despise everything he stood for.
But I couldn’t.
Angelo lit a fire inside me I’d spent my entire life smothering with obedience and fear. He pushed me further than I’d ever been before, and when I was right on the edge, he dared me to jump.
He offered me redemption and the chance to hurt those who’d wronged me. In order to get that though, I had to take a leap into his world, the deadly mafia empire the DePalma family had created, one filled with drugs, guns, and blood.
I found him in the darkness, but it was there that I may just lose myself.

✯5 Angelo Bright Stars!!!

Addison Jane continues to blow me away.  Every book that I read of hers I fall a little bit harder. This might be the first book in her new series. But, Anthony DePalma has been around in Addison's world for awhile now and I'm glad she's giving Anthony and his family a series of their own.

Angelo's life didn't start off good. He was looking at a life of pain and nothing you'd ever want. Then, Anthony DePalma walked into his life and gave him a choice. Anthony took Angelo into his family and took him under his wing. Angelo owed his life to Anthony. He learned everything from him and he'd do anything he wanted him to do. No questions asked.

Emerson lived to dance and she was great at it. Too bad her parents didn't see the love she had for it. Emerson did what her parents told her to do.

When Emerson's sister was brutally attacked and left to die in her arms her life changed. She grew up as Emerson Rossi. Her sister was her best friend and the only person who supported her the most. That was hard enough for Emerson to deal with. Then Angelo showed up.

Emerson learns her last name isn't Rossi, but its DePalma and her Uncle Anthony is mob boss royalty. She learns the history and why her sister was attacked and that its not over. Her uncle informs her Angelo will not be leaving her side until the threat against their family is gone. No questions or exceptions allowed.

Yes, this is as good as it sounds. I don't want to give anymore away. Just know this isn't a black and white story. It's got color in it and just when you've thought you are done connecting the dots don't. Because, just as I was hoping I knew who book 2 of this series was going to be about there was a WTF thrown in. Then, the epilogue left me with a huge "OMG NO WTF!!" Addison definitely started this families series with a bang and I'm excited to see whats next for them

Synopsis:

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Bullshit.
Words destroyed me.
“I’m sorry. She didn’t make it.”
“Daddy, he can’t breathe!”
“There’s nothing more we can do for your son.”
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Lies.
Those syllables and letters became my executioner. I told myself that, if I didn’t acknowledge the pain and the fear, they would have no power over me. But, as the years passed, the hate and the anger left behind began to control me.
Two words—that was all it took to plunge my life into darkness.
“He’s gone.”
In the end, it was four soft, silky words that gave me hope of another sunrise.
“Hi. I’m Charlotte Mills.”

✯5 Bright Stars!!!

If you didn't read The Darkest Sunrise then don't read this. It's not a standalone and shouldn't be read as one.  I honestly didn't think I could love/hate this story more then I already did. But, I was wrong.

When you start The Darkest Sunrise its of Charlotte when her son was kidnapped. The Brightest Sunset is no different. It's the day Porter's wife Catherine drowned herself almost taking his kids with her. Just when you think you couldn't hate her more, you learn something very important. Travis isn't Porter's biological son. Nope. He adopted him after he met Catherine.

We pick up right where we've left off. Everybody's emotions are all over the place. Porter's in cuffs. Charlotte is told her son is alive. And, her ex Brady is even more of a douche then he was before.

I honestly don't wanna give to much away of this story. There's a lot of tug and pull within this story. Porter thought Catherine couldn't ruin his life anymore. But, this. Even he couldn't see if he tried.

Deep down Charlotte knows theres no way Porter could've done this. But, she's got Brady breathing down her neck. Brady's making demands. His biggest demand that Porter be nowhere his son. Which come on. Porter's all Travis knows. Why confuse him more. But, again Brady's a douche. All Charlotte knows is he's her son and his health and wellbeing come first. So, when Travis needs his father, Charlotte will call him and deal with everything else later.

OMG I couldn't put this book down! Charlotte really found herself in this book. She found her voice and her backbone. She did what was right for her son and to hell to everyone else. She did have some dark times. But, as long as she had Porter she'd always find her way out.

Oh Porter Porter. He legit is the perfect man. Even with his darkest nightmare right in front of his face he still found a way to make sure his kids and Charlotte were OK and happy. Hell, he even went out of his way for Brady. To do all he did for Brady after the way he treated him, shows how good of a guy Porter is.

Aly Martinez is such a wonderful author. She writes stories that are filled with so many emotions, full of everything you'd want in a book and in the end is straight up beautiful. This duet is another one of them.

✯Review✯Blank Canvas by Charlie Lee

Synopsis
I loved to draw and paint, throwing those spectacular colors across a blank canvas and turning it into something unique. Young, carefree, with the world in the palm of my hands. The options limitless.

My world ended the night the door creaked open. It was their first of many visits. Life as I knew it went blank. It became a survival game and counting my only solace to get through the pain.

It all became too much. I ran into the darkness of the night. That blank canvas long forgotten and uncomplete. The ways of the streets became my new home. Drugs and sex my new survival. Until one night, it all went too far.

I was happy to know the pain would finally end; welcomed being murdered in a lonely alley. All of the weight on my shoulders and vicious memories would be long forgotten once I took my final breath.

Life hates me, and I didn’t die. A second chance was handed to me, but what happens when I don’t want it?

This time, I have the chance to make my own art.
One person’s Blank Canvas is another’s Graffiti.

✯5 BlueBird Stars!!!

If you're wondering if when I finished reading The Hitchhiker did I jump right into this book. Then, yes! Yes, I did and I loved every page and every word of Blank Canvas

When I read The Hitchhiker I was intrigued and wanted to know more about the sexy doctor who put his job on the line for Katch and Caitlin. I wanted to know what made him do what he does.

Amelia hasn't had the easiest life. She's seventeen and just about to graduate and head off to college. It should be the happiest time in her life. Except Amelia's barely holding on. She's  a shell of the girl she use to be. At night she prays her bedroom door won't open and close with a lock. When it does she counts. It makes the time pass. When she can't take it she leaves and doesn't look back.

Years later Amelia is living in the dark, dirty alley. She'll  do anything to get money for her next fix. She'll eat outta the dumpster and use the money for the other.

Amelia watches him. The beautiful man with the beautiful colorful watch on. Whose always got an equally beautiful woman on his arm as he enters the restaurant. Tonights no different except he's alone. She's hoping tonights the night her suffering will end. Unfortunately, its not before she is face to face with the devil himself. Just as its about to end, she's face to face with the beautiful man.

Zeke loves being a doctor. Things haven't been easy in Zeke's life. Him and his brother Saxon aka Brick to his MC club. They both lost somebody extremely close to them. When him and his brother met Curtis the President of his MC club, he knew his brother would be good. Those guys are part of Zeke's family and its why he puts everything on the line when one of them needs medical attention.

Every time Zeke goes to his favorite restaurant he can sense her there. Feel her eyes on him. Zeke knows he should go into that alley and offer her help. But, never does. That nights different though. When she's getting attacked he jumps into action and finds her foaming at the mouth and bloodied to a pulp barely clinging to life. It's her eyes he sees. As blue as a bluebird. Hs bluebird. It's then he promises to save her life ad get her away  from this alley.

Amelia wakes up to the man with the beautiful watch. He is offering her a new life. Offering her a chance to get clean and get a fresh start. But, Amelia doesn't accept it at first for the right reasons.

When she meets Zoe who works where Amelia's getting help she makes her see things differently and brighter for the first time in her life. Zeke got her the best Dr. Dr Ronan whose showing Amelia how her life could be. Everyday she gets a little better.

Zeke is drawn to Amelia for a few reasons. He wants to get her help and save her. Maybe he needs to do it bc he couldn't save her. He won't loose Amelia either.

What starts as a slow building friendship, turns into something much more hot, passionate and real. Unlike either of them ever had. Zeke needs help getting his charity event to help women get the help the need set up he goes to Amelia. He needs help. She needs a job. Its a win-win for both of them.

Zeke and Amelia's story is beautiful. They're both fighting their inner demons. Zeke really is the perfect man. The way he fights to save every patient that ends up on his table. To the way he'll do anything for his brother and the MC. To the way he wanted to give Amelia aka his bluebird anything and everything was amazing. Lets talk about Amelia. She had a crap life. But, when she got the chance to live, man she took it. Even though she went all she went through she was definitely mature for her age and all she went through. She's beautiful and never once took anything given to her for granted.

Charlie Lee is killing it! The way they took on Amelia's story was perfect. This book was better then the first. I am beyond excited for the next book which belongs to Brick. I can't wait! I'm hoping its Brick and Zoe's story. Even though this is considered a standalone I'd recommend reading The Hitchhiker first. You'd get what they speak about in this book and it not be spoiled when you do read it. I was also already crushing on Dr Zeke before opening the book.

✯Release Review w/Giveaway✯Whispered Prayers of a Girl by Alex Grayson

Synopsis
A tortured soul meets a damaged family…
A lonely man, a widowed woman, a carefree boy, and a broken girl… Can the four come together and help heal each other? Or will fear of the unknown and guilt about the past keep them apart?

Her whispered prayers break her...
At night, as she’s drifting off to sleep, I press my ear to the door and listen to her heart-wrenching pleas. Her words are agony to my healing heart, but I cherish the sound of them, for that’s the only time I ever hear my beautiful daughter speak. Since her father died two years ago, she’s grown quiet and withdrawn. Cat’s Valley was to be our new beginning, a place where my family and I can heal, but what we find there is so much more.

Scars mar his body. Pain has left him in pieces…
Four years ago, I lost the two things I cherished most in the world. They were ripped from my arms in the most painful and cruel way. Since then, I’ve kept to myself, preferring to stay away from the pitying looks and murmured rumors. Everything changed when she and her children barged into my life. It was an accident, and I don’t deserve them, but now that they’re here, I’m not sure I can let them go.

✯5 Broken Stars!!!

Oh my goodness! This is my first book by Alex Grayson and after reading this it's just my first book of I hope will be lots. Bc, I finished this book days ago and I'm still crazy for it.

Gwen lost her husband two years ago, leaving her and their 2 children Daniel and Kelsey alone. While all 3 are grieving it is her daughter who is taking it the hardest. She's stopped speaking. The Dr's are calling it select mutism. The only time she hears her daughter speak is at nighttime when she's in her room praying.

Gwen decides they need a change and they move to Colorado. They have made friends and Gwen is hoping it'll help Kelsey. When she meets Alexander the town recluse she's intrigued by him. He may come to town rarely and act like he doesn't want to be bothered. But, when Gwen and the kids get into trouble during a snow storm it's Alexander whose their to take them in.

Ever since that night 4yrs ago Alexander's life has never been the same. If its not the dreams and the half built house to remind him. Its the scars that are on most of his body. Alexander doesn't know why he was saved and he doesn't care. He grew up in this town and everyone just whispers when he's around. Alexander just wants to be left alone.

When Gwen and her children get stuck in the snow storm he can't just leave them. He opens up his home to them. Alexander wishes he could just ignore them. But, Daniel makes it impossible. He talks a mile a minute and follows Alexander everywhere. Gwen as well makes it under his skin. But, it is Kelsey that truly gets to him. When he looks at her its her eyes. They mirror the pain that he has. Alexander and Kelsey have a connection that is so strong and can't be denied. No matter how hard he tries to stay away the harder it is to do.

This book gutted me! I'm not sure who made me cry more, Alexander or Kelsey.I do know it was Daniel who made me laugh the most.

The author made me feel Alexander and Kelsey's pain. Kelsey didn't speak, but the few words she did broke me. Alexander tore me open. This book was so beautifully written and I wish I could get more of Alexander, Gwen, Daniel and Kelsey.

Excerpt
JUST LIKE LAST NIGHT, I walk silently down the hallway until I make out the murmured whispers from a girl begging God to bring her father back. I gently lay my hand on the door and listen as she slowly melts my heart until it’s a puddle at my feet. My chest aches with the need to walk in there and take away her pain. I’ve never heard such tortured words before. The pain that comes from them is overwhelming and unbearable. Even my own immense pain from losing the ones I loved can’t compare to this. This girl’s pain is so much more.
My head falls forward, and I pull in a deep breath to steady my heartbeat. It’s been quiet for several moments, and I know she’s finished. I let my hand fall from the door, and I walk down the hallway back to the living room. I drop to the cushion and let my head fall in my hands.
They’re leaving tomorrow. The sun is coming out and the temperatures are supposed to be in the lower fifties, much higher than it’s been in days. The snow won’t melt in one day, but it’ll be enough to let the road crew get to the fallen tree and her truck. My call earlier tonight to Travis confirmed they’ll be working on the roads tomorrow.
I’m not ready. It’s unreasonable and irrational, but I don’t want them to leave yet. I’m not ready to give up Daniel’s buoyant behavior or Kelsey’s quiet and depressed mannerisms. I’m not ready to give up Gwen’s giving and resilient personality. I want to keep them here. With me. They’ve brought so much light into my life since they’ve been here, and I want to keep it for a while longer. Which means they need to leave as soon as possible, before my dark world rubs off on them. I want to be selfish and harbor that light, but I won’t.
What hurts the most was the dejected look on Daniel’s face when Gwen informed him and Kelsey they’ll be leaving tomorrow. What surprised me was the morose look on Kelsey’s. That girl and her sad eyes have me wrapped around her little finger. And the boy…. Everyone should have a Daniel in their lives. Gwen tried cheering the two up with promised visits to all their friends once the roads were clear enough for it, but I could tell it didn’t work. I could also tell it wasn’t working for Gwen herself. She tried to hide it, I’m not sure if it was just from the kids or from me too, but I know she doesn’t want to leave either. The four of us, in a matter of days, have become close, formed a bond of a sort. And that right there is another reason they need to leave. I can’t let that continue. It’s not something I deserve. It’s something they need to form with a man who’s worthy. A man who will be there for them always. A whole man, not one who’s only half of himself.
I give my hair one good pull, letting the pain push away the unwanted feelings, before releasing it with a muted growl. I’m pissed at myself for wanting something I shouldn’t. This family is too good for me. I couldn’t even protect my own when they needed me. How could this family be any different? I refuse to take that chance.
I lie back against the cushion and force thoughts of Gwen and her two kids away, and instead let my own demons take over. Closing my eyes, I let the screams of pain and fear flood my mind, reminding me why Gwen, Kelsey, and Daniel are better off without me in their lives.
