OMG I have been addicted to Remi and Bowen since the first paragraph and once this popped up on my Kindle I got comfortable and I couldn’t put it down. 

This is NOT a stand-alone and you MUST read the first two books before you read this! 

Bc of that reason I don’t wanna write this review Bc I’d hate to giveaway the story. Aly Martinez has such an amazing way of making you feel every emotion as you’re reading her books and this trilogy was no different. 

We pick up right where we ended. Remi has figured out who had kidnapped her and so did Bowen and Aaron. 

Once that was settled Bowen wanted to move forward together but Remi was still adamant about moving a few hours away Bc as much she as she loves Bowen since the plane cash she’s lost eighteen months of her life that she’s not sure she’ll ever get back.  She also knows that so much has changed for her and Bowen but she needs to just go and find herself and comeback to Bowen. She just hopes it’s not going to be to late. 

Everyday Bowen wants to reach out to Remi but knows that wouldn’t like it. 

When Bowen lost Remi the first time he got mad at his family over his house constantly but now he’s been getting together with them as well as reaching out to Aaron until Remi returns to them. 

A brief text conversation between them proved to them that they A-was still in love with each other and that hadn’t changed. 

When they both have work conferences to go to they’re shocked to see each other and to learn they’re in the same hotel just a few doors apart from each other. Bowen knows that it’s fate putting them together and Remi wants to shove his fate down his throat. Even though it’s making her smile. 

They decide to enjoy their four days together and then go back to their lives. Until fate starts showing Remi glimpses of her life that makes her run to Bowen and praying she’s not too late.  

I’m so happy I read this but I’m sad that I finished it LOL. This was such a great story about two people who are destined to be together no matter what life threw in their faces. 

In true Aly Martinez fashion just when I saw how these two’s HEA was going to go…. BOOM… Aly threw another grenade at me but I wasn’t fast enough to duck and I ended up getting smack in the face with it LOL. 

I’m sad Remi and Bowen’s story is over but I’m happy they got their HEA and I’m excited to see what Aly’s working on now.

He was hired to guard Piper. When Piper’s attacked at her sister’s wedding Tristen takes her away to his families beach house off the grid until the guy is caught. 

Even though Tristan’s been with Piper everyday for six months he’s kept it very professional. He knows everything about her but Piper doesn’t know anything about him. But, being stuck together 24/7 without WiFi or leaving the beach house they start opening up to each other. 

They’ve always thought the other one was attractive but know that they’re learning all about each other they’re even more attracted. Tristan’s all about keeping Piper safe no matter what and he plans on keeping it that way no matter what. Piper on the other hand has wanted Tristen from day one and she’ll do whatever it takes to get him to see the real her and to give in to what they both want. 

Even though they’re both feeling things there’s still somebody out there who wants to hurt her. I felt like the ending was a little rushed but other than that it was a good story! 

I’m looking forward to Easton’s story next. I’m hoping I don’t have to wait a long time for it.

We legit pick up where we left off at. Allie’s finding out from Eli that Carson was in on the bet. Allie wants nothing to do with Carson from that moment and Carson will do anything to get Allie to understand he didn’t it to protect her and his feelings are real. 

Carson and Allie still have community service to finish up so Allie will have no choice but to see Carson until it’s complete. Allie can tell Carson she wants nothing to do with him but the way she looks at him and her breathing when he gets close to her tells Carson she’s lying and he’ll wait until he can get her to trust him completely again. 

These two are back and forth between being on good terms and bad terms with each other. Poor Carson can’t seem to keep his foot outta his mouth for long. Every time he inserts it back in his mouth it pushes Allie away a little more. 

Until Allie finally sees how much Carson truly feels about her. But, as soon as they seem to get things figured out tragedy hits. Carson tries to do what he does best. Tries pushing Allie away thinking it’s what’s best for her. Now, it’s up to Allie to fight for them. To make him see that he is good enough for her and to stop pushing her away but let her stay at his side. 

I’m so in love with Carson, Allie and their friends. I loved Beck and Josie. I’m so excited that Olly and Frankie are next!!!

“What?” I chuckled as I slipped on my socks and shoes.

“Nothing.” She shrugged her shoulders. “I’m just impressed, is all.”

I chuckled and Beck shoved his sister’s chair, almost making her fall. “That’s my friend, asshole. You don’t get to be impressed.”

“No. She’s right.” Josie was still staring at me too. “I really expected you to have the smallest dick.”

“I feel like I should be offended.” I leaned back in my chair.

“It’s your personality.” Allie shrugged. “You know, cocky guy, small dick. Showy car, small dick.”

“Okay, Allie.” I pressed my elbows into my knees and looked across the fire at her. “Truth or dare?”

She stared at me, and I had a feeling that no matter what she picked she wouldn’t do it. “Truth.”

I let my gaze slide to Eli before it went back to her. I shouldn’t have even called her name. I should just ask her something stupid and move on, but my heart raced in my chest, and I didn’t hesitate with what I asked her next. “When was the last time that you were truly turned on? I mean really and truly, couldn’t-think-about-anything-else turned on?”

A few people snickered, but I didn’t look away from her. She didn’t pull her gaze away from me either as she answered, but I knew her answer was a lie the moment it left her mouth.

“When Eli kissed me.”

“Carson, truth or dare?”

“Truth.”

“When was the last time you were really and truly turned on? And I mean to the point that you actually considered kissing the girl?”

“Oh shit.” That came from Olly, but no one said anything to stop us.

“Just about any time I’m with you, but if you’re looking for a specific moment, the night the cops walked in while I was going down on you.”

Laughter rang out around us, but neither of us was deterred.

“Allie, truth or dare?”

“Truth.” There was no hesitation in her eyes. She wasn’t scared of what I had to say.

“Do you actually like Eli, or are you just pissed off at me?”

“This is the exact reason people think you have a small dick.” She crossed her arms. “You assume that everything anyone does it about you when it isn’t. I actually like Eli, for your information.” She tucked a blonde curl behind her ear. “Carson, truth or dare?”

“This is about to get messy,” Josie whispered to Beck, but I heard her. She was right. It probably was.

“Dare.” I cocked my head to the side and looked at her.

“I dare you to stop being such an asshole and just tell us what the hell your problem is.”

“My problem?” I rubbed at my jaw. “Currently my problem is you. You haven’t barely spoken to me in days, you’ve been avoiding me like the plague at community service, and now…”

“Now what?” She was angry.

“Now I have to sit here and watch you with him.” I pointed at Eli, and he had the nerve to fucking smirk at me.

“I haven’t spoken to you because the last time we spoke, you made it very clear where we stood. I’ve been avoiding you because I don’t want to deal with you, and you’re going to have to continue to watch me with him because I like him. And it’s the oddest thing, but he likes me too.”

“Truth or dare?”

“I’m done playing this stupid game.” She pushed out of her seat, and I knew that Eli was about to follow her.

“Truth or dare, Allie? It’s not that hard.”

She spun back around to face me, and I could see the anger in her eyes. “Fine. Dare.” She held out her arms because she thought by ending the truths, she was going to end this argument between us.

“I dare you to kiss me.”

“That’s not happening.” Eli had the balls to say that out loud to me, and it took everything inside me not to close the space between us and finish what we had started last weekend.

“The last time I checked, you weren’t Allie’s boyfriend, and you don’t speak for her.” I looked back to Allie, and she was staring at me. “Allie can either kiss me or she can drink.” I lifted the bottle of liquor and shook it between us.

“You kissing me changes nothing.” She shook her head.

“Then it won’t hurt.” I shrugged my shoulders and tried to act like I didn’t care one way or another, even though I didn’t know what would happen if she walked away from me now. “If you’re so into Eli and kissing me won’t change anything, then what are you so scared of?”

Trent has been running for awhile now. Six years to be exact. Him and his brother’s Jud and Logan ran away and been looking over their shoulders ever since. They do it for one reason. Their reason. Trent’s son Gage. Trent will takeout anyone who looks at his son the wrong way. 

Trent owns and operates the club Absolution and he’s known for being grouchy and unfriendly. Not that he cares. One night he walks in to see the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen waiting on him for an interview. 

Trent tried getting rid of her but Eden Murphy isn’t having it. Trent knows if she’s around him he’ll ruin her and he’s been on a mission to keep Gage safe. Trent agrees to hire her even though it’s doing something to him inside he can’t quite figure out.

OMG finally!!! I feel like I have been waiting for forever for J. L. Drake to hit publish on her next release for decades. I gotta say after reading the first part of Elio and Sienna’s story the wait was SO worth it. 

Since this is going to be a three part trilogy I really don’t wanna give much away. 

Sienna was living a life of misery. Between starving and the beatings she wanted to give up.  She just hoped her mom returned for her soon. 

While taken a rare breather so found a pond and then found a friend in Elio, the boy next door. 

For year’s they were just friend’s and then they grew into so much more. His parent’s took her in as their own as well. As long as Sienna had Elio in her life she was OK. Until one day him, his parent’s and everything that was them was gone. And, Sienna was left again for the second time in her life. 

It’s been ten year’s since Sienna lost Elio and his parent’s. The only thing she has to prove to her he’s real is the crow necklace he gave her. 

Sienna was alone and on the street’s when she met Wyatt and he took her in and now they’re both journalists. 

When her bosses found out about her past they talked her into doing an exposé and she did it in hopes her mom would find her. 

Next thing a big time hotshot reached out to her boss to hire her to do an article on their oil business that people have been trying to get for year’s. 

The last thing Sienna thought was the guy she’s meeting with is Elio’s best friend/business partner. Sienna want’s to run away from Elio but she can’t. Her heart, body and soul are connected to Elio. I read this in less than two days. I couldn’t put it down. This has everything you want in a dark romance read and then so much more. I knew it was going to end on a cliffhanger but when I finished it at 4:45 this morning it didn’t stop me from yelling at my kindle in my empty room LOL. I’m dying for the next part of Elio and Sienna’s story!!

Stripping down to just my bra and underwear, I slipped into the water and allowed myself to float, proud that I had finally learned to swim. I splashed in the water, happy for a brief moment. Puffy clouds made their way across the blue sky, and I let myself drift away with them, enjoying the freedom. The smell of the plumeria filled the air, and I pretended it was Mother Nature gracing me with a gift of her perfume.

“I was beginning to think you were avoiding me.” His voice traveled across the water and vibrated through me. I ducked down, careful to keep my body underneath the water, so just my nose was above the surface. “It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen you here.” He peered into the hidey hole where we hid our notes and grinned. “I see you got my notes.”

He was right. I had been avoiding him, but it had come with a cost. His kindnesses and our chats had been so important to me. I realized how much I had missed him. I was lost and felt angry and sad all the time.

He tugged off his t-shirt with one hand and stood in his jeans. I saw the way they hung low on his hips. Elio was two years older than I was, and his body was that of a fighter. Strong, lean, and had that V that Cara always drooled over. Yes, Elio looked spectacular.

“And you’re swimming.” He placed a hand over his heart playfully. “That hurts.”

I couldn’t help but smile at that, even as I swam a little bit farther away from the shore. It was true that I didn’t like people looking at my body, especially because of all the bruises. I was also self-conscious about being so thin, although I had put a little meat on my bones lately. Most of all, I didn’t like the attention I got from the men at the dockyard and the house. It made me feel uncomfortable. I had developed quickly over the past few months, and it was difficult to hide my shape under my clothes.

I treaded water and tried to think of something to say as he dropped his jeans and waded into the water in just his boxers. He dipped under the surface and came up right in front of me.

His dark eyes seemed to be even more intense today, and I felt a jolt when I took a leap and stared into them. It was like someone poured a bucket of warm water over me.

“Sorry,” I whispered, and his eyes softened like he was happy I spoke. “Things have been hard, and I got a little…” I trailed off, unsure how to explain myself.

“Lost?”

“I think to be lost you need to have been found at some point,” I fought back an urge to cry. “I didn’t have a starting point. So…” I shrugged.

“I missed our notes.”

“Me too,” I confessed.

“But I missed you more.” He smiled sweetly. Elio would often be bold with his kindness. I admired that he could say what he wanted without a care.

His eyes flickered as something raced through his mind. I could feel his body language change.

“Do you trust me, Sienna?” I licked my lips and thought about his question. “You know me well enough to know I wouldn’t hurt you, right?”

I nodded because it was true. Elio had never said or done anything to hurt me in any way. In fact, he had cared for me over the years and never asked for anything in return. I felt like he knew me better than anyone else.

“May I take you to show you something?”

Author J.L. Drake was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, later moving to Southern California where she lives with her husband and two children. 

When she's not writing she loves to spend time with her family, traveling or just enjoying a night at home. One thing you might notice in her books is her love for the four seasons. Growing up on the east coast of Canada the change in the seasons is in her blood and is often mentioned in her writing.
