For the past seventy years, deep in the mountains and totally secluded from civilization, a matriarchal society has thrived. In this small village there are no brothers, no fathers, no sons. In this village men exist only to serve the women, and boys have no mothers. In this village men do as they are told and defiance is severely punished.
This is the only Life Wilderness has ever known, but when Jameson is brought in from the outside to be her husband, everything she thought she knew about strength and love is tested. As they struggle to find their place in the village, they suddenly find themselves face to face with outsiders who threaten to destroy everything they love, and it doesn’t take long to realize that they will have to work together, men and women alike, if they want to survive.

✯✯4 Wild Jameson Filled Stars!!! ✯✯

Talk about crazy!!! If you’re looking for a book with a storyline that you’ve never read before, then stop because Tribe of Daughters is that book.

Women are on top of the food chain in this village. When the plague hit seventy years ago life as everyone knew was over.

Wilderness’s ancestors were held against their will and were beaten, tortured and everything else you can imagine. When they were able to escape they moved into the mountains secluded and have survived since. They swore to never let a man hurt them again.

The women and men live separate from each other in this village. Men are used for certain things. They’re not allowed in the women’s part without permission. These women will do anything to stay strong.

In order to keep strong they don’t crossbreed. Once every five years the warriors go out and bring back a few strong, healthy men to be wed by the next set of women.

The women of this tribes job is to give birth to the next generation of strong women. If they give birth to boys they keep them until they can be weened and then sent to live with the other men. But, they’re not called man, son or brother. If they’re born there in the village they’re known as yielding and if they’re an outsider they’re a foundling.

Wilderness is getting her husband at this gleaning. Wilderness has a lot on her shoulders. Wilderness is the next High Elder after her mom Raven. Like Wilderness, her mom married a foundling, Zachariah. Like Raven, Wilderness will be expected to teach her husband the ways of their village.

Jameson went from sleeping in his tent to being captured and brought to a village where the women are in charge. He can’t believe the men agree to living this way. Jameson finds solace in Zachariah who was also an outsider AKA foundling. Jameson doesn’t know how Zachariah lives with his children not knowing exactly who he is to them. The other guys that were brought in with Jameson will do anything to get away. But, Jameson isn’t so sure.

This is still new for Jameson and Wilderness. Unlike the other women Wilderness wants to be around Jameson all the time. He starts to open her eyes to things other then what she’d grown up being taught.  Things that the other wives do Wilderness doesn’t agree with.

Once Wilderness and Jameson were married everything the women and men in this village knew and lived by were about to change. Everything was about to either get really bad for everybody or change them for the better.

Wilderness I really liked from the beginning. She wasn’t afraid to listen to her gut when it came to Jameson. I just wished she spoke up to her mom more often.

Jameson I loved!!! He knew what the women were doing was wrong but he understood why they were the way they were. He spoke to Wilderness and showed her things could be so different. He knew he was in love with her and he knew when they had their own children he couldn’t standby and pretend they didn’t mean anything to him. But, for Wilderness he’d do anything she’d wanted.

This is unlike anything I’ve ever read and I read a lot! Kate L. Mary is an author I love to read bc everything she writes is different and so entertaining I don’t want to put my kindle down. I’m looking forward to her next release!
