✯Review✯ Kissing Gabe:NYE Kisses(Beech Grove #6)by Mayra Statham

Blurb
I’m a stick-to-the-rules, planning-it-all-out kind of girl. As a city event planner’s assistant, my plan is to check off every box on my to-do list and make sure the Fireman’s New Year’s ball goes off without a hitch.

Everything is in order. Until nothing turns out to be the way it is.

Kissing Gabe Blanco, the sexy fireman with chocolatey eyes and a dirty mouth, was not on my to-do list, but now I can’t think of anything else I would rather do. There was no way I could have planned on him, but he’s tempting enough for me to throw caution to the wind.

Temps might be dropping outside, but this OTT whirlwind insta-love will have you slightly hot under the collar.

✯✯3.5-4 Gabe Filled Stars!!!✯✯

This is the 6th book in the Beech Grove Series. I’ve been DYING for Gabe’s story since the beginning of this series with Burning Bridges. That story was Gabe’s sister Sofia and best friend/coworker Maverick getting together.

Since than Gabe has made an appearance in every book. Even if small cameos but he’s been a constant. He’s cameos revolve around either his job being a firefighter or at the bar. Usually drunk. I’ll get back to that in a bit.

Daisy is a party planner. When her boss gets snowed in Daisy’s left last minute in charge of the annual Fireman’s NYE celebration/auction. She’s legit freaking out. Luckily for Daisy she’s got some friends who if you’ve rad the previous books you know who they are helping her out.

Daisy’s got to get guys to be auctioned off. Sofia offers up for brother Gabe which will be a hit with all the women and great networking for him. Daisy is just hoping it all works out. The first time she meets Gabe she can see what all the fuss is about until he opens his mouth and than she’s instantly turned off. Or so Daisy thought.

When Gabe first saw Daisy from afar he knew he had to meet her and than she disappeared on him. When Gabe finds out his little sister signed him up for the auction he wanted a way to get out of it. Until he found out whose in charge of it. Than, he asked his sister for help. She got him into this mess and now she was going to make it worth it.

In Burning Bridges Gabe got hurt at work during a fire. Now Gabe is back and feeling great. Gabe’s name is in everyone’s mouth about him being the next fire chief. Gabe’s tryin to play it cool even though he wants it.

Gabe wants the job for his own reasons. Gabe’s also never has an issue getting women. He just doesn’t stick around long. But, seeing his best friend Maverick and sister Sofia falling in love and a lot of his other friends as well it’s got Gabe wanting more than a one nighter much longer.

When Gabe sees Daisy he wants her in a way he’s never wanted a women before. After screwing up their first meeting Gabe makes himself a promise. When the clock hits midnight when the ball drops he’ll bring the New Years in kissing Daisy and it’ll be both their last first kiss.

Since Burning Bridges it’s seemed Gabe’s  drinking has gotten worse. I’ve been under the impression he’s been getting sloppy drunk which isn’t like him.  Maverick made a comment in book one Gabe had been disappearing more like he’s been seeing someone. Talk of him becoming fire chief since than too. I’ve been waiting for both of that to come out. Waiting for him to get the promotion he’s rightfully deserved. Wanting to know where’d he been sneaking off too. Why the excess drinking and why multiple characters throughout the previous 5 books thought he hadn’t been looking himself, almost sad.

I was very disappointed that none of it was ever brought up, resolved or job given. Dunno it could just be me. But, I was left with a lotta wtf to answers I’ve wanted answered since the first book.
